Unable to complete version check

In my case, it's in my documents. Right click on the FFXIV: A realm reborn folder, hit properties, and uncheck the 'Read only' option. Select the follow-up option of 'Apply changes to this folder, subfolder and files', and hit ok. You should be fine after that. Berrod Armstrong's Wiki
