The Vent Thread: Airing Grievances - Edgar - 12-11-2014
I believe this is a necessity. We all have issues, be they with various facets of life, or with other people, and eventually, we all reach a point where something has to give or we're going to burst a blood vessel.
I'm establishing this thread as the go to thread for the snarkiest among us to come and vent our frustration in the most positive way possible, though, there MUST be ground rules:
- Anonymity must be protected. Be as vague about people as possible. No photos of the person, no namedropping, no addresses, no IPs, etc. Pick a name for the person if you must.Â
- This is NOT a thread to passively expose people who harass others online or generally break the rules. Those kinds of things are best sent to the administration. If someone is hurting you online, this is not the place to post about it. And if you are suffering verbal or physical abuse in the real world, this is also not the place, though I ENCOURAGE YOU to get help. Overall, I think it should be fairly obvious what is appropriate to vent about in this thread: the little things that piss us off.
- Please don't vent about shit that hasn't actually happened. As inconvenient as I can imagine the day of the nuclear chickens is to the farming industry, you're wasting our time if it hasn't actually caused you any grief because it's a figment of your imagination. The same goes for over-exaggerating the details: You stubbed your toe, it didn't explode in a bloody mess upon the surface of the wall like a bad horror film.

I keep getting hungry at 3 AM and there's nothing open at that hour so I have to sit in bed awake and starving.
Also I hate all of you. Especially Faye and Gharen [NAMES REDACTED] because they kicked my puppy when I was but a wee lad still roaming the rolling fields of my youth.
These are things that happened and I have my whole friends list as witnesses. Guards, arrest them. Uploading IPs for truth and great justice.

Was it REALLY necessary to make bands tradable? Now all those players with more RL money than me will claim all the houses before my FC has a chance to make that amount...

I can get behind this one quite easily. Nothing more frustrating that the sudden onset of lag that just seems to happen at the oddest times, not even content to stick to the usual "high traffic" periods. And it always has to hit when I'm doing something important, like healing a boss or dealing with that stupid Mythril Golem from the Alexandrite maps.

I'm not happy withe the way RP relationships go for Seiko. Perhaps $20 is better spent on fantasia and a rename instead of marriage that will never happen. At least then I can focus on non RP objectives without feeling sorry for the character.
Also, I'm sick of hearing about weddings, the only one I care to attend at this point in time is the one that's going to be comedic in nature. Other than that one, I kind of want to ICly tell people to cram their invitations and leave me to my snakes.

Mm. I can understand the idea of the thread, but ultimately this could end in disaster for many, many reasons. I'll go ahead and lock this down per your request~
Venting is healthy! But, for parties involved, it'd likely be easy to infer what's going on, and in the long run that might cause more issues. This is a personal opinion, naturally, but I'd recommend simply talking to people! Obviously not everything can be solved this way, but a lot of situations can easily be handled by just being open and polite with each other. There's always disagreements in RP, and some times it can be best to just agree to disagree.
