Or in general, a summoned, contracted beatdown servant of sorts?
What I'm offering up is this. Along with a long-winded-esque story, because I'm good at that.
Basically, my character Liliana has gotten herself into some pretty deep trouble and will be dying at the end of this story arc. However, she is "voidtouched" -- actually, at this moment, pretty much entirely corrupted by the void that she could almost classify as a voidkin herself. This is part of a big "restart" project, as this RP arc that I was involved in has gone so horribly off-track that I have to do a few roundabout tactics and stories to get her back on the right track, in a matter of sorts.
What I'm offering now, is a chance to have a supercharged Black Mage-classed, humanoid voidkin as a thrall to those who can summon from the Void. Or those, at least, stupid or curious enough to try. I think it'd be an interesting idea; a temporary servant able to fight the things you can't, do the things you can't do (or refuse to do because you're lazy and hell, if you're powerful enough to summon from the Void, you're entitled to a bit of relaxation!).
However, like with everything in RPland, there are rules and regulations and I feel that with serfdom/playing a thrall, I need to lay these out rather plainly.
1. No Summoning just for ERP. I get it, we all do it; hell, I do it too. There's no shame in ERP. However, being a thrall or a serf that is summoned from the void DOES NOT MEAN that you are entitled to her body, even while she is under contract of your character. She still has a mind of her own and a very strong will, and Lily has never taken kindly to simply getting hit on...if you ask around, she's got a mean left hook and usually aims for the throat.
2. Contracts have a price. And no, I don't mean gil. Though, gil is nice...anyway. As a "voidkin", she'd be dealing in more intimate currency...namely, aether. Depending upon the contract, she will take from the contracting character a portion of their aether (and perhaps, should any others be involved, their aether as well). This does not mean she will kill a character unless the other player(s) is/are okay with that! I'm not entirely cruel, I enjoy fairness and I truly do hate attempting to take another character's life when it is unwarranted. Especially when it's unwarranted.Â
3. Abiding by the "True Name" laws. Just because you as a player can see Lily's name hovering over her head in whatever color text you made it, does not mean your character automatically knows her name. Lily will be wearing a mask a great deal of the time, and will be going by a different name. However, things like her voice, or certain mannerisms can be detected by people who do know her. If a person that knows her name even so much as whispers it within earshot, the contract she is abiding towards can be made temporarily null and void for a single action, be it confessing about something or even turning on her contractor. This, however, means that she is also entitled to siphon aether from the person in power of the "True Name Law", if she so chooses.
4. She's a bitch. And I mean that kindly. But no, really, even during her contract, Lily will be crafty and behave like any tricky voidkin would do; after all, she's trying to gain enough power to leave the Void permanently and live on her own; again, this is part of a giant "reset" arc to get her back into possible favor with the Light. But, she will perhaps siphon off a bit more (read: she's gonna drain the hell out of you) aether than she's supposed to, or perhaps do some other, craftier things. I wanted to be able to use this as a way for her to come back as a different class; perhaps being able to copy someone's class abilities from aether siphoning. I think it'd be fun and personally motivate me to level my last two Battlecraft classes through story.
That being said, I really just want to give this arc an ending that I feel is right. While I adopted this story from my former FC, I feel like I was one of the few that kept it really going (though that may not be the case, necessarily) and I wanted to give it an ending the old leaders could be proud of. Also, Lily is not dead just yet -- I wanted to put this out there as a means of gaining possible future contacts and introducing new, fun, and interesting stories for both my character and yours. So feel free to hit up the thread or my inbox if you have questions, or wanna take a stab at having your own temporary personal boomstick!
