Hello there, I've been looking for a new MMO to sink my teeth into and hopefully RP in and on researching FF it looks great.
I'm writing here because I can't for some reason post on the official forums, says something about registering my account on the Square Enix management board which keeps saying is down due to maintenance.
Now i'm assuming the game is very alive and kicking and wanted to ask what the best EU server for RP is? Along with normal game content.
Also seen as I will be buying the game is the collectors edition of Realm Reborn good?
What can I expect to get with it?

Naturally I'm biased as I'm on Balmung, but we have an active EU community here, for both RP and PVE. The European Directory lists events, linkshells and FCs playing at EU-friendly times. That said, you don't have to restrict your play to other EU players, as there are plenty of daytime NA players and, if you're a night owl, even more activity in the late EU hours.

I've heard of some RP activity on EU servers like Moogle but ended up choosing Balmung myself so can't really comment on the current state of them.

If you buy the digital CE of ARR, you get some in game items: chocobo barding, a mount, a minion (non-combat pet) and some armour that gives an xp boost below level 10. Whether you'd consider that worth the cost, however, is down to you!

Really wanted to join an EU server, I shall scout around these forums and see if I can find any other info Smile

The ping on an EU server is the exact same as an NA server as they both use the exact same data center, which is in Canada. So the ping is actually roughly the same until the EU servers are moved to Europe.

Balmung has a lot of EU Roleplayers. I myself work nights in NA, so my playtime is generally during EU peak hours. I've been amazed that I'm never without RP on our server when I wanted it.

The hardest part for you though is going to be securing a spot on the server. There are various guides out there on when to try jumping on Balmung. But it has been harder and harder since Heavensward dropped. Luckily things seem to be settling down though.

I'm in UK and Ping wise..

Straight internet 120ms+ with variance

Using WTFast ~100ms with stability

There are good days and bad days, but I rarely see over 125ms.

RP wise.. come to Balmung, it is really the best answer.
