Andre let out a playful laugh as he quickly swished his head to the side, raising his hands as he did so to shield himself from the droplets of water that shook free from the chocobo's beak. A cheeky smirk was clearly visible when he returned to look at the creature as it reached it's head down to take yet another drink from the trickling stream. The miqo'te owner, however, did not share in Andre's amusement. She instead, gestured angrily while scolding the hyur for somewhat encouraging her mount's restless behaviour.
"Ah, humblest of apologies, milady. It was not my intention to upset you" he replied to her in the form of a laugh while offering her a modest bow. He was unable to discard the large grin on his face however, regardless of his sincerity.
Andre rested a hand on his hip as he continued studying the chocobo, finding further amusement in the beast's almost-mocking actions as it responded to it's owners riled tone and gestures. He remained silent as the woman removed her belongings from the creature and instead took hold of them herself before instructing the beast to leave her be. Andre's smile slowly faded all the while. At first he found it entertaining how she and her chocobo both behaved and interacted with each other but her sudden send-off of the creature made him feel a little uneasy. Was she truly that upset? Perhaps his mere interest in approaching the animal had been uncalled for.
Andre took a step forward, gingerly raising his arm out towards the woman in attempt to apologise again to her, this time in a more serious manner, for acting out of turn. Suddenly however, the woman was knocked backwards in Andre's direction by the chocobo's abrupt departure as it took off on its own.
"Ah..!" he exasperated as he rushed forward to catch the miqo'te. She was still rather closer to him fortunately enough and her small frame allowed for him to easily secure her within his grip. However, catching his boot in between two rocks, the young hyur lost his footing and began falling backwards himself with the miqo'te still grasped in his arms. He let out a small wail in shock as they both fell down into the mildly deeper part of the stream, the water soaking both their clothing right through as a result. He groaned in discomfort as his backside collided with the rocky riverbed before seeking to attempt to climb back to his feet. The woman however, had him pinned down. He could not move without literally pushing her off of himself, which would, of course, only cause her to become even more soaked than she already was. Instead he had to wait for her to do so herself. Though she'd have been unable to see it, Andre winced nervously as he anticipated her vengeful wrath for failing to keep her from falling.
As a result of all the sudden commotion, he had yet to notice the appearance of the mysterious onlooker that had tumbled into the water despite their similarly failed attempts to interrupt the woman's fall..
