Not exactly verbose, but that's just how it goes.  Spoiler: show Part 1: The Basics 1.What is your full name? A'tarr Tarmon 2.Where and when were you born? Exactly where is a bit unclear to me now, but it was 19 years ago 3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) A'brool and A'priana. Father was a hunter, and taught me well, mother was everything we could ask for in a caretaker, and knew a little magic for healing. 4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like? I had a little brother. He died when we were both young. 5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people. I lodge in Swiftperch regularly, but I don't have a real home yet. It's a nice town, the view of the sea is nice. I usually keep to myself, fishing on the shore and cooking what I catch. 6.What is your occupation? Adventurer, hunter, fisherman. 7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. A little on the tall side, built for speed, like all Miqo'te. I have orange-brown fur, with yellow highlights and tail-tip. My eyes are slitted, and mis-matched, which I understand to be uncommon among other races. One is green, the other is an odd silver. Strange, but I don't make a big deal of it. Style of dress is practical and usually muted in color. Bright colors attract attention. A few scars from fights and hunts gone wrong. 8.To which social class do you belong? Tribal society didn't have much in the way of social classes. Right now? Vagabond tier, probably, heheh. 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I take care of myself. So, no. 10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right. 11. What does your voice sound like? Low, rough, breathy, somewhere between a growl and a whisper. Long stretches of not talking and controlling my breathing make speaking unfamiliar. 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? "Gods dammit, [insert noun here]." "You gonna eat that?" 13. What do you have in your pockets? Few gil. Fishing line. Whetstone. Something... once edible, I think? 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Terse talker. Can't sit still most times. Part 2: Growing Up 15. How would you describe your childhood in general? Happy. For the most part. 16. What is your earliest memory? The smell of smoked venison, Father offering me some of my first solid food. It was delicious. 17. How much schooling have you had? Nothing official, just learning through cultural osmosis. I can read most things, write, do basic math. Don't need much else. 18. Did you enjoy school? Barely knew it was happening. Like I said, cultural osmosis. I think that's what they call it, anyway. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? The other men, Father and my uncles especially. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them. Father, the chief, my uncles. Not much to describe. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? Very well. Especially with my brother. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A hunter. Mission accomplished. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Spear practice and swimming, usually. Hunting training was much of my life when I was older. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I don't especially remember what I was like as a child. I was perhaps... happier? 25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like? I was one of the group, safely in the middle of most things. Never the fastest, never the strongest, but never the weakest either. I wasn't nunh material, let's say. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? I was 12. It was on a dare. The "lucky" lady had feelings for me at the time, but I only learned that years after she'd moved on. It's just as well. 27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? No. Her name was C'rali, and our tribes interacted on occasion. Trade, the occasional border skirmish. We swam together in the river that split the valley often, and eventually grew curious. Let's leave it at that. 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. Money makes the world go 'round. I need to eat, and so I hunt, adventure, and work where I must. Part 3: Past Influences 29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? My brother's death. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? Father. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Slaying a treant that had gone out of control when I was twelve. Still don't know how. 32. What is your greatest regret? ...I should have stopped him from leaving. That is all. 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? Killed a man who probably didn't deserve it. 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? They never caught me, so I assume not. 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? Surrounded by jackals, spear broken. Luckily, I had my axe. 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? Slipping and falling off that ridge in front of that cute Keeper girl. No idea where my helmet landed, either. 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I think you could guess if you're paying attention. 38. What is your best memory? C'rathi. 39. What is your worst memory? ... Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions 40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Pessimistic. 41. What is your greatest fear? I can't say for sure. Fear isn't something I think about. 42. What are your religious views? Also not something I think about. 43. What are your political views? Screw the Garleans. That's about it. 44. What are your views on sex? Make it special, for the both of you. 45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? All the time. Acceptable, unacceptable, the line is always blurry. 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Murder. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? For some people. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Getting what you want out of it. 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? Not very. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? No. I am a paragon of decision making and logic. That was sarcasm. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it? Several things. Like rape, or genocide, or door-to-door solicitation. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? My family, my friends, an innocent. Part 5: Relationships With Others 53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? Distantly. Some can get closer, but those are special. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Right now, no one especially. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Right now, no one especially. 56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people. No one I can name. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person. Not right now. 58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened. Love? I'm not sure... 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Mellow, casual personality; not too high strung or high maintenance. Physically, a pretty face, trim waist, with nice hips is preferred. 60. How close are you to your family? Recently, it's been hard getting back into contact with them. For the longest time, we were inseperable. 61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not? Not right now. I'm not old enough to settle down. 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Myself. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why? I prefer to do the protecting. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? My family, mostly. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Hatred is a thing that should be let go. 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Avoidance. It's wasted energy, arguing. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? No. Others can take the lead. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not? No. It's just not what I'm used to. 69. Do you care what others think of you? No. Part 6: Likes And Dislikes 70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? I like to listen to the rain when it happens. Especially when I'm fishing. The fish are active in the rain. 71. What is your most treasured possession? My bone hunting knife. 72. What is your favorite color? I'm partial to gray. Dark gray. 73. What is your favorite food? Meat. 74. What, if anything, do you like to read? I'm not good at reading. 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? Music is fun. Good cooking is as fun to do as it is to eat. 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit? I like a drink every once in a while. I only rarely smoke. 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Same as every day. Sleeping. 78. What makes you laugh? Not much. Something about people falling off things, though. 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Not much. 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? I'd do some night fishing, if it was too dangerous to hunt. 81. How do you deal with stress? Kill whatever might be attacking me right then. That's when I feel stress. 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? Proper preparation prevents piss-poor performance. 83. What are your pet peeves? Teeth grinding and handsy people. Part 7: Self Images And Etc. 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? Wake up. Bathe. Dress. Eat. Hunt. Eat. Fish (or go to town to shop). Eat. Fish. Bathe. Sleep. 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? Resourcefulness. 86. What is your greatest weakness? Hesitation. 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I think I'm happy the way I am. 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted. 89. Are you generally organized or messy? Depends on the subject. If it isn't a tool or a weapon, I tend to let things go where they may. 90. Yes. No. Both. 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) It pays well. It also lets me leave when I want to. 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? Bring down a beast that will make me remembered. Like a dragon, or a demon. 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? More or less where I am now. 95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? In battle. 96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Enjoy a good meal. Sleep with a beautiful woman. Go home and say goodbye. 97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? My prowess as a hunter. 98. What three words best describe your personality? Curt. Quiet. Sane. 99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Rude. Strange. Reliable. 100. Rarely mentions his real surname unless it’s for ‘official use.’ The surname he uses comes from his mother’s side of the family. Although in good terms with his father, he rarely uses his real last name because he thinks it’s ‘ugly’. 2. Where and when were you born? Reginald was born on the 13th Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon, year 1547 of the 6th Astral Era, around noontime in an island southeast of Gridania along Rothlyt Sound. 3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) Reginald was born to Florence Noble – an engineer who specialized in alchemy equipments – and Edgar Gravellow – a cart driver who transports materials between the three remaining city-states. Both are Gridanians. His mother is straightforward, kind, and generous. His father is also kind and generous but is hot tempered, has a terrible sense of humor, and a habitual complainer. His mother is older than his father by several years. 4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? Reginald has a twin brother named Nic. They look nothing alike and have opposing personalities. They dropped out of contact after the war claimed their mother’s life, both blaming the other for her passing. 5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. Reginald is currently staying in Limsa Lominsa where the Arcanist’s guild is located. He does not have a house of his own yet and is merely taking advantage of the free lodging for members of the adventurer’s guild. He lives with his retainer Ohki. 6. What is your occupation? Aside from being an adventurer, he is also a worker at the Moraby Drydocks. 7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Reginald is shorter than the average Hyuran Midlander, standing only at 160 cm. He has tanned skin, slightly muscular build, and short unkempt hair. He rarely shaves. His eye color and hair color are both black. He has terrible fashion sense, opting for function over form. His retainer L'sandra often picks his clothes to avoid embarrassment. 8. To which social class do you belong? Reginald belongs to the middle class of society. He earns enough to support himself with a little extra for savings. 9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? Reginald was born with weak lungs so he is often short of breath and is very weak to cold. He makes up for this weakness through sheer willpower. 10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right-handed. 11. What does your voice sound like? Slightly high-pitched but modulated. 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? “How should I know?”, “Riiight…”, “Relaaaaax!” 13. What do you have in your pockets? A lighter and tobacco. 14. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? From books and scrolls. His magical talent allowed the application of magical theorems a lot easier for him than most. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. His father was his role model when he was younger as well as the adventurers in the storybooks that he reads. After seeing his mother’s sacrifices for her family, she became his role model. He was not one to revere the Twelve, although he does believe in them. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? He was a problem child. Both twins think the other was their parents’ favorite. They were often compared in school where Reginald excelled for being an intellectual. As such, his brother developed a slight inferiority complex towards him (Nic’s strength was in musical arts) and he always tried to compete with him in everything they did together, much to Reginald’s chagrin. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Reginald loved airships and he wanted to pilot one himself. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Reading storybooks, playing outside, and getting into fights. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? Aggressive, rash, stubborn, and impatient. 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? There were many children his age who looked out for him but he considered only a few as his friends. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? Around 18, to a girl named Soy who became his first girlfriend. 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? No. His first experience was with the girl mentioned above. 28. Losing his friends and mother during the war; the experience changed his personality completely 180 degrees. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? His parents – they were his role models. 31. Being unable to protect his loved ones during the seventh umbral era. 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? He killed his first pet in cold-blood – a young chocobo chick. 34. He has a lot of regrets but feels that things happen for a reason. 38. What is your best memory? Traveling to Ul’dah and living there for a short while. 39. What is your worst memory? Reginald is pretty talkative and excitable especially when it comes to things he is interested in. He hides his negative feelings, however, as he feels it is not anyone else’s business. 50. Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? Although quite rude in the past, he is currently very polite and empathic. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Currently, Ohki. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Seedseer Kan-E, she’s a good leader to Gridanians. 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. He lost all his closest friends during the war, including his bestfriend Alex. He has several old friends but he is not in contact with them anymore. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Ohki. She started as his retainer and usually only talked about business but later developed into something more. She's an olive-skinned and silver-haired Keeper of the Moon with a large bust. 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. He had three girlfriends: Soy, Clara, and Lisandra. All his relationships usually ended up long-distance and naturally failed later on. 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Faithfulness. That’s it. 60. How close are you to your family? Very close. His family shaped him into what he is now. 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? Not yet. There is much for him to do before settling down and Ohki respects that. 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? His father, Edgar, or Ohki. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? None. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? His father, relatives, probably some of his old friends and exes, and Ohki. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Legatus Darnus. But he’s gone now. 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Avoids conflict at all costs. As a youngster, he was the opposite. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? No. He’s more of a follower and does the support role. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Uncomfortable, but he’s okay with it. He’s more of an introvert and would rather be alone reading a book. 69. Do you care what others think of you? What, if anything, do you like to read? Books about adventure when he was younger, stratagems and theorems when he got older. 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? A good book, some good food and drinks, and slow music would do. 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? Chronic smoker and occasional drinker. Both vices come from his father who is currently trying to get him to quit to no avail. 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Working in the observatorium. More gil earned equals more savings for his dream house. 78. What makes you laugh? Sarcastic humor. 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Rampant profanity. 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? Masturbate. No, really. 81. How do you deal with stress? Find a secluded area and punch things until his knuckles bleed. 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? Reginald would often stop to think of a plan first unless the situation does not allow it. 83. What are your pet peeves? Forgetting to be served in a restaurant (happens often). Wake up, eat, bathe and brush teeth, work, eat during noon, work, take Ohki out to dinner, read book or write in diary, bathe and brush teeth, sleep. When disrupted, just makes up for it later. 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? His inborn intelligence that allows him to learn and apply things quickly. 86. What is your greatest weakness? Cold. If only his workplace wasn’t in Coerthas… 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Height. 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted. 89. Are you generally organized or messy? He can be messy today but will promise to clean up tomorrow. Same thing applies on the following day. 90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. Reginald is good at application of battle strategies and magical theories, writing, and martial arts. Reginald is absolutely terrible in musical arts, any game that uses a ball, and swimming. 91. Do you like yourself? Somewhat. 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) He admired the adventurers in the books he used to read so he aspired to become one. In public, he would say that he did it for the free lodging. =/ 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? Learn as many spells and strategies as he can muster. 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Still working in the observatorium, married to Ohki, and bought a house in Gridania. 95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Killed by Odin. Glorious. 96. You warily enter the room, a small comely affair in rural La Noscea, closing the door behind you with a quiet click. The target in question is here, as arranged by a very delicate series correspondence; one of which resulted in an aspiring Flame recruit having a fair portion of his face, well, melted. You wouldn't dare show any signs of nerves though, you're too well trained for that. You set the stack of papers on the table before you and claim your seat confidently. Your mission was information retrieval only, nothing near as deadly as would normally be expected of an adventurer of your standing. Yet it came in a sealed envelope, passed to you beneath the table with whispered warnings. “You may want to... invest in some fire materia.” The Miqo'te sits across from you in a large, padded chair. He seems calm, passive, even harmless as he smiles eagerly at you. You catch sight of his superfluously fluffy tail in your peripherals, wagging in affront to his feline lineage. His considerable ears perk up as cool, dual-toned eyes scan you with an unnerving preciseness from beneath a pair of thin rimmed silver spectacles. You can't help but suspect the aura of childishness about him is a front. As if sensing your discomfort, the young man sits up a little straighter, setting his hands neatly upon the table in front of him. Typical tribal eye markings and a pair of crude blue stripes tattooed on either side about the cheeks. Typical dress consists of practical leather wrought outfits, with comfort secondary and style a... near third. It's rather hard to judge one's own voice.” You're inclined to agree, his voice is rather reserved and quiet with a soothing quality to its softness, not unlike a cat's purr. His expressions are colored by the youthful tone of one scantly out of boyhood. The shade of a proper Eorzean accent ghosts over his conversations, but some words he seems to struggle articulating, falling back on a rougher dialect you can't quite place. 12. He fiddles about in his pocket for a moment, dropping a handful of tin coins, scraps of paper, some half-eaten pastry, and what appeared to be a silver key upon the table. The key is bound with leather cording that seems to imply its usual place is worn about the neck. The summoner doesn't elaborate on the contents and looks to you for the next question. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? “I'd have to ask you to define strange, annoying, and quirky for me. Subjective terms, they are. I believe that everyone has unique behaviors, how others perceive them is their own accord... You go right for the throat don't you? It would be terribly dull for me to continue to insist upon silence... A small story, then. I assume you have nowhere else to be?” Show Content -----STORY CUT----He breathes deeply, unfastening the book belted about his waist. He sets it on the table with a solid sounding thump, glancing at you only briefly as he undoes the strange mechanism which binds the tome shut. The cover creaks ominously as he opens the book to its very first page. It consisted of a grainy and haphazard sketch of what appeared to be Amalj'aa, and a sampling of an unknown glyphic language running vertically along the page. "The images were crude, of craven gods abandoned by upright men and left to the tribes of beasts..." he read aloud, with intent. “Before I cast out from my tribe, much of the territory we knew was shared with Amalj'aa marauders. They were not a particularly friendly sort, but kept to themselves most often. Or at least well away from us if not the hapless traveling merchants. More often than not the altercations between our kinds were the direct fault of Miqo'te going where they knew they aught not. “Something I myself am not innocent of, as I was a precocious and adventurous adolescent. I went into lands that were marked by the beastmen to observe them. Several times I watched them in secret from beyond a dune of sand, watching them recount the spoils of their raids and brawl over its division. I took extensive notes during these forays, as you can see here. I'd been cautioned many times that the Amalj'aa were brutal and savage, scarcely more than bloodthirsy drakes who fancied to walk upright. “I wasn't inclined to believe as such though. In my stealthy observations I learned much about the tribe of the Inferno. What seemed like nonsensical brutality to the unclean observer was a fascinating hierarchical society not unlike our own. They were organized and dreadfully clever. The greatest of the warriors commanded the finest armaments and wore the bloodiest trophies. The true elite however was the Blood Auger. While I observed lancers, archers, brawlers, and swordsmen among the Amalj'aa dismember each over affairs of strength and honor, never once did I see a talon raised to the magic-weaver among them. He was garbed unlike the others, a mantle of red fabric draped about him. The snarling always fell quiet when he came to the collect the war spoils. I found it strange at the time, he took only crystals from the wealth they amassed.” He turns through several pages of drawings and near illegibly scrawled notes. There are images of the beast tribe drawn with a morbidly fascinating level of detail. There's sketches of the beastmen drawn in scale to the objects around them, with notes on average height, weight, and age. Beyond the more strictly anatomical ones are depictions of their homes, their weapons, and even the trophies and treasures he spoke of. The sketches reflect the events he described with great clarity, from rather artistic renderings of the scalefolk at a temporary peace, to the gory and vicious brawls that often ended in grotesque trophies for the winner. The younger K'dath even seen fit to smear a bit of red pigment on a drawing of a wounded Amalj'aa being left in the sand to perish as his kind moved on without him. He turns another page, tapping the illustration. Though his expression is calm, tension hangs about him as he subtly grits his teeth. It's an illustration of an ordinary crystal with notes all about it, as you may expect of a field journal belonging to nearly and craft person. Closer observation of the page betrays one of the notes in question appears to be written from a different hand. The letters are even worse than the Miqo'te's and can't be made out at all. Yet something about looking at the jagged blacken scrawl ties your guy in knots. “In fact, I wondered with a near-fatal curiosity what became of the hoards the lizardmen had, till the day I saw them gathering together in yet unobserved numbers. Dozens, maybe hundreds of them gathered together, flowing in from all four winds, and many with great sacks of tribute. One night I resolved to bring a sketchbook along with me that I might capture the scenes of such treasure as a trophy from my expeditions. “The night in question was warmer than usual, and as I neared the encampment I could swear I'd stepped into the seventh hell itself. As I crested the dune which I'd made my usual perch, I beheld a rather different site than in previous times. The camp was cleaned and orderly with no signs of the loot they had hoarded over the past moons. And against all logic... I crept closer. Something in my foolish, adolescent mind believed that I was actually a very tricky kitty and not that the beastfolk had simply been ignoring me till this very night. “Nearer to the camp I saw the Amalj'aa gathered around what appeared to be some strange totem. It was like no thing I had seen before, a demon of some form with massive horns sloping upwards, as if to rip the heavens. It was hewn of wood, a rare commodity in the wastes, and seemed to have been crafted with great care one would not expect of the massive lizardmen. At the foot were the crystals of fire I'd noted only passively before. There had to be thousands, though they were small, certainly not enough to call forth any primal in his full glory. Each one glimmered with a dull ember of Inferno magic, a catalyst waiting, begging even, to go off at any moment. I was shocked you understand, when I saw one amongst their numbers approach the effigy with torch in hand. “He slurred some guttural chant I couldn't comprehend, then put the demonic idol to the torch. It set aflame brilliantly to the rasping cheers of the onlookers. The flames surged upward with an almost sentience, a tower of flame so dizzying and scintillating it almost turned the night to day as its tongues scraped the sky. After the moment of resounding cries the beastfolk approached one at a time, casting coins and other riches into the flames. It was then it occurred to me I was watching some terrible, pagan rite to their brutal god of flame. They burnt everything. All they had raided. All they had hoarded. Everything they had killed for and died for went into the raging pyre. “I observed the procession of offerings, and I beheld the Auger giving blessing to each one. The larger the offering paid, the more extravagant and fevered was the grace. With a broad and rusted blade he'd cut them, the more the coin the bigger the gash, and permitted them to offer their blood to the flames. And when enough tribute was not brought forth, the miserly beast responsible would be hurled into the embers as well. When all had paid their dues to the fire god, the bloodied priest launched into a fevered sermon, in a language known only to the touched I presume, for to me it sounded only like gibberish. Then they dispersed, as if no great culling had ever happened, and left the idol to smolder.” He turns the page of the beaten grimoire and taps the illustration on the next page. The idol of Ifrit set ablaze was surrounded by several smaller glyphs and some hastily written notes. The page across was one massive glyph with many intricate details and complex geometries. Yet a portion of it appeared to be missing. “It was...strange. Grotesque in comparison to the rituals of the Twelve. And yet... something about it was enchanting. I remained at the site until long after the flames were quenched, inching closer as the heat and light gradually diminished. I did my best to record the strange markings about the ritual grounds. Many of them were damaged by the fire, others completely obliterated. I found them curious, but far less interesting than the cooling pile of tribute so near by. I had no sense of what I should have been looking for at the time... “Nor any sense at all, I suppose as I made my way into the camp itself. My interest in the academic trophy I had already compiled here was dwindling fast in favor of what may have possibly survived the fire. Golden coins that may have escaped the blaze would buy me respect with people as simple as my own. Even more prestigious if I could recover a bone or weapon from one of the felled beastkin. Nothing earned you a place in the good graces of my tribe like slaying an enemy and bringing back a treasure... “Before I knew it I was on my knees before the idol's burnt husk. I felt... uneasy, as if the gaze of Ifrit was upon me now that I was strewn upon his altar. I suppose it's how a sacrificial lamb feels, staring up at a graven image of our gods. As I'd feared, nearly everything was ashes or too warped by flame to be salvageable. I cursed the wretched Amalj'aa and near-to cursed their god when a small glint caught my eye amongst the smoke and rubble. “I burned my hands terribly like an imbecile as I cleared away a still flickering bit of wood. Nestled at the base of the effigy was the purest, finest, most beautiful ruby I'd ever laid eyes upon. It was stunning, and even in the dim light it was breath taking. Utterly devoid of even the smallest flaw. It was worth a fortune surely. The Auger must have thought it a crystal was all I could surmise of it then. Just holding it in my hands... I was filled with a sense of... I can't even describe it. There's no word for it in your language, or my people's language for that matter. It was hope and purpose for me, incarnated into a jewel I held in my hand... “For all of a few moments before I was snatched up by a snarling beastman. It was a type of terror you simply can't fathom unless you are Miqo'te. I was hoisted by my tail into the air amidst the smog and shaken viciously. I was terrified... more than that, I was in a waking nightmare, paralyzed and unable to scream as my lungs filled with smoke. I was rattled and disoriented, the world tumbling before me as all of my senses vanished into a warm red haze as what I would assume is unconsciousness trying to claim me. “I was certain I was dead, even as I lashed out with all my will to live. I was already dead, and the horrible burning sensation coursing through me was my life bleeding out of my on Ifrit's Pyre. There was a great, terrible light that blinded me, and then the sensation of falling replaced all notion of pain. “What happened next or how long the events took to transpire is a great mystery to me. My eyes still throbbed when I came to and beheld the Blood Auger himself before me. Dead. Lying sprawled upon the sand with what appeared as if a great animal had simply torn away a chunk of nearly half his upper body. The wounds however were smooth, baring no mark of tooth, and more importantly... cauterized. I still remember looking down into the half of his face still in tact. I looked into his remaining eye, such an evil construct, for what seemed like an eternity. And I felt a latent heat coursing through my veins. It felt... Good. “I was not fool enough to tarry so long a second time though. I collected my book and the ruby that near cost me my life, and beat a hasty retreat before the Blood Auger's flock would stir and put me down for sure. I was home before the sun crested high enough to cast a shadow on the village, and I dared not whisper a word of what had bore witness to. I hid my notes, and my prized ruby as well, as I'd found myself with a certain fondness for it too overwhelming to hawk it to any traveling merchant. “I was...inspired thereafter, touched even, to pursue magic. It earned meno fondness from my people, so xenophobic and mired in tradition that they are. But I no longer cared... It was as if a veil was lifted from my eyes, and I was suddenly seeing the world for the first time. It was something more vast and incomprehensible than I'd ever been given reason to think before.” He closes the tome with a heavy thud from the cover, ignoring any attempts you make to read it further. He smiles, clicking his tongue against his teeth as an amused huff escapes him. “So tell me, do you think that fateful night I was 'tempered' by Ifrit? That is what your employers sought, is it not? 'Is he a threat?' they whisper and pour over notes about a summoner not crushed beneath their thumb.” He barks out an abrupt laugh at your expression and shakes his head with an apathetic shrug. “Living amongst a small tribe, closed off from the world, taught me the value of knowledge. I learned that the pursuit of objective truth is the one, and the only, righteous endeavor. Everything else is relative. Seeking to regulate the will of the world to a neatly defined code of conduct is not only impossible, it is the most opprobrious act of hubris ever dreamt up by mankind.” He lays his grimoire to the side, setting his hands back upon the table where you might easily see them. “I've rambled quite long enough though. He was a good man though, kind eyes... soft hands... A-anyroad, he was a fixture at the Arcanist's Guild, and did much to ease the burden of coming to a strange land with naught a thing sans some tattered leather scraps I tried to pass as clothes.” 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? “Many things that would have the lawmakers in Ul'dah howling with rage.” He chuckles, smirking impishly and waves his hands. “A jest, naturally. I've yet to accomplish any great feats of infamy.” 32. What is your greatest regret? “Regret?” His ears lay back a moment, his lips pursed as he seems to be thinking rather hard on this one. “I don't feel regret... Everything is happening for a reason. I came to know this truth when it was time for me to know, and everything else has unfolded as it should... I can't begrudge that.” 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? “I ate five baptized babes and used their blood to call the moon down... What? That is a silly question, and for it you get a silly answer.” He rolls his eyes dramatically, flashing a Cheshire grin. 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? “Isn't that why you're here? One of those 'person of interest' reports or another that seem to come from Ul'dah daily. It's hardly my fault they have many, many arbitrary laws.” 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? “Being shaken over the burnt out husk of a demonic god aside? ...Perhaps the last time I saw the K Nuhn, swearing to slit me from nips to navel for my toxic influence. Not that my fears in that situation where totally unfounded, or I would still be hiking around the desert bemoaning the heat, rather than nestled a comfortable walk from the sparkling ocean as we are.” 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? “Much of my first few months amongst civilized society qualifies. When your understanding of the world is very narrow, you'll often find yourself in... compromising situations.” 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? “I don't think I'd change anything. All of the things that happened, for better or worse, in my time here have made me what I am.” 38. What is your best memory? “Best memory? A difficult one to nail down... Perhaps when first I gained the companionship of Carter. It was a wonderful spring day, the smell of salt on the air intermingling with the scent of flowers blowing down from the orchard. I was training down by the shore, listening to the ebb and crash of the waves... and everything was perfect for a moment. Everything... made sense, and for a moment, everything turned to gold.” He smiles genuinely, his ears rolling back as he looks up with eyes alight with wonderment. “Have you ever had a moment like that?” 39. I remember it too was a beautiful spring day, as beautiful as spring days can be in the Sagolii at least.” He clicks his tongue against his teeth, taking a deep breath and exhaling in a dramatic fashion, smiling despite himself. “I was younger and stupider, and it's a thing I've put behind me now. We're too hung up on small matters, we can't even begin to embrace what's beyond ourselves before we comprehend our own world.” 43. What are your political views? He barks out a sudden laugh and haves his hand curtly. “It's not my concern. All the systems are rife with greed and corruption. One is no better than another, and I'm just as well off without any of them... I suppose that makes me a bit of an anarchist.” 44. What are your views on sex? “Views? As in?...I like the view of the wide open sea while enjoying a brief roll on the beach?” He arches an eyebrow and snorts. “It's a part of life. Making it out to be any more than that is idealistic... or idiotic.” 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? “How barbaric...Yes I am able to. I am physically and mentally capable of committing acts which would come to the end result of relieving another creature of their gift of life. My murdering is regulated mostly to fish and game beasts. I'm not too hung up on the morality of such.” 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? “I don't think evil is a real concept. I think evil is a term that one party appoints to another when they have conflicting goals. My goal is to live in accordance with my own way and to study the objects of my interest uninhibited. Evil, in which case, would be anyone attempting to deprive me of that freedom.” 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? “No. Even putting aside years of cultural conditioning, with what I've seen of your world... No.” 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? “Success is in the eye of the beholder... Live well according to your own ends, nothing more than that.” 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? “Well, if my intent was to be dishonest about anything, then how could you be sure I haven't been dishonest about everything? I may even be dishonest about being dishonest! Now wouldn't that be something?” 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? “I am neutral in almost all accords. I'm a student of the world, after all, it's far more conducive to my ends to be open minded.” 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? “I never know what I am capable of doing until I am put into a situation in which I must. Morality is a strange, shifting mass like that... and its why I don't put much stock in ethics. I'd like to say I'd never willfully torture or deprive another sentient creature of life, freedom, or pleasure... but I've yet to be in that situation where the line must be drawn.” He sighs, laying his head into his hand, his tail swishing back and forth idly as he seems to be growing bored. “I do not take life idly, if that's what this line of questioning is all about. I'm not an extremist bent on reshaping the world to my ends. I protect myself and what is mine. Nothing more. Nothing less...” 52. He chuckles at his own perceived cleverness and shrugs. “Nothing is overly valuable. Even research can be rewritten. Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? “I treat people well enough, until they've proven themselves worthy of something to the contrary.” 54. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? “You seem awfully preoccupied with my perceptions of other people... I suppose I respect my elders in the magic arts. On an individual basis I can take or leave them, but without forbearers, there is no contemporary study.” 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. “I don't really have a mind for such things... I don't have a problem being polite and civil to people, but getting attached is another thing entirely. And one I can scarce afford.” 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. “Afraid not, you know, being a cynical, amoral, drifter who studies terrible, eldrich beings simply isn't as popular for courting as it was in ages past. Can't fathom why.” 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. He shrugs, his expression betraying a look of bordem once again as his eyes drift away. He seems to be daydreaming rather than seriously contemplating your question to any depth. You're prepared to move on when his gaze wafts lazily in your direction. “Love, I have come to believe, is a childish construct on pleasant days, and a cruel joke of nature on the worse ones. Knowing it is a terrible thing does not make one immune to it, and especially not when it comes to the past. Hindsight is always the clearer... but something with the emotion known as love, it'll seek to trip you time and time again.” He shakes his head, something in his expression seeming... tired. The crease in his frown, the way his eyebrows furrow, the way his eyes simply seem dimmer. “It's also terribly tedious to hear a spurned lover wax poetic about past flames. I know you don't actually care, it's just a regulation question, right?” Before you have a chance to answer he holds up a hand and shakes his head. “To answer in brief, yes. And it was terrible.” 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? “I don't.” 60. How close are you to your family? “Not at all. Haven't spoken to them in years, and I have no intention of doing so.” 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? “No on both points. It's simply not an aspiration of mine. Not now. Not ever. I have no drive to procreate, no instinct for parenting, and no attraction to the opposite sex.” 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? “If I were desperately in need of help? If my life depended on it? I suppose I'd just be out of luck... And I would deserve it for getting myself into such a situation I could not get myself out of.” 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? “Who would I trust, pray tell? I have made it clear to you numerous times... I have no home, I have no family, I have no friends... all I have to depend on is myself, my abilities, and my purpose. You hesitate to ask after the previous answer he gave, coupled with his penchant for getting snippy when asked the same question several times. You opt to skip this one. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? “The person who doubtlessly paid you good coin to corner me and steal away an afternoon I could have spent doing something fruitful. I shall make sure they are my next victim when next I am in the mood for wanton slaughter.” He arches an eyebrow at you and huffs. “A jest, a jest... I assure you.” 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? “I admit at times, when I see a pretentious cretin with notable delusions of grandeur, I sometimes act against my better nature. What can I say? Mischief is a guilty pleasure.” 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? “If necessary I have the decorum to assume control of most situations. However, my good sense tends to keep me out of such situations.” 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? “Not really. People are rarely themselves on a stage. I'm not interested in your public facade.” He catches the slight shift in your expression and smirks. “I do not mask my emotions. That implies a certain amount of care and social polities I simply do not have. What you perceive as a front is my genuine nature. I have a voracious curiosity that often leads me smiling into situations that may very well be the death of me.” 69. Do you care what others think of you? “Not at all. Not one whit. I rarely have time for such things. But I enjoy fishing. Sitting on the beach with a weather beaten rod, watching the sun set, smelling the salt and the smoke of a campfire. The excitement of hooking a big fish, falling over and nearly being dragged into the sea. But you grit your teeth, you pull hard, your reel as if your life depended on it... the rush when it breaks the wave and comes crashing, flopping onto the shore. Then you jam a sharp stick through the wriggly bastard and roast him as the light dies.” He seems lost in the fantasy for a moment, shaking his head suddenly as his cheeks turn a smidge red. “I-I'm also fond of music... I've oft thought about picking up the harp, delightful instrument, if ever I found the time or talent.” 71. What is your most treasured possession? “My grimoire,with no competition or doubt. It's my life's labor. For it to be destroyed would be like destroying a bit of my own heart... as silly and poetic as that sounds,” he chuckles uneasily, glancing around as if paranoid. 72. What is your favorite color? “Blue. Any shade, though I'm partial to the color of the sky.” 73. What is your favorite food? “I love fish. Any kind, served any way. I have a soft spot in the primeval recesses of my heart for raw meat, but cooked, salted, you really can't go wrong. All the better with a fresh herbal tea, straight from the orchard. A slice of lemon... oh, or oranges, those just came into season... An orange tea with the right spices...” he trails off for a moment, muttering to himself about ideas on what to have for dinner. You subtly bump the table to get his attention. “Right! Right, right... sorry. It is getting late though, you understand my thoughts drift elsewhere.” 74. What, if anything, do you like to read? “I read a lot,when I am able. Rapacious inquisitiveness and all. There's still so much I do not know... Books help to bridge the gaps. Even archaic volumes are profoundly interesting for all their lack of valuable knowledge.” 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? “I'm not sure I have a good mind to be critical of art. It all fascinates me, as I knew nothing quite like it growing up. Music, however, is language all things know. The men playing harps in theaters, the beastfolk with their goathide drums, the lowly vilekin chirping 'neath the moon. No matter the circumstance of your birth... you know music. It's a part of life, as much as love and death.” 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? He tilts his head to the side, one ear cocked back with the other perked attentively. For all his seemingly profound, worldly knowledge, he has no idea what you're talking about. You could explain it to him, but you opt to move along. Let him hold onto that naivety for a little longer. 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? His perception of time is clearly different than yours, as he's not entirely sure what a Saturday is. It takes him a moment to surmise from the context what you mean. “Oh... on a night dedicated to leisure? I don't take many holidays, so I'm unsure what a typical one would be. Probably sleeping...” 78. What makes you laugh? “Everything. Anything. It's good for your health, or so I've been told. Even moments of great despair have their humor, if you're willing to forgo your sense of self for a moment to see them. I think perhaps those are my favorite ones. Tragedy and irony... I guess I have a somewhat black sense of humor?” 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? “Getting offended takes an awful lot of effort, especially when it's likely the source of your offense is ignorant. Only stark statements of penultimate absurdity can really jostle my nerves, if you will. In which case, tis best to just abscond.” 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? “I suppose that depends. If I were fortuitous enough to be making camp along the shore I would probably fish. I hear that all sorts of interesting fish crest black waters that you'll never see in the daylight... I think that would be interesting. Elsewise, I suppose to sit up with a book or recount my own notes... Nothing terribly fascinating.” 81. How do you deal with stress? “Leaving the stressor seems to do the trick. And yet such a simple solution seems to boggle the minds of more tempered men.” 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? “A bit of both, as they are useful. If is good to have a plan, wise to have a plan for when the plan goes awry, and most clever to plan for the accord all plans will fail.” 83. What are your pet peeves? “Pet...peeves? Things I find irritating? Like sand in my boots? Sand in my boots certainly annoys me. Twelve favor the man who first crafted knee-highs, am I right?” Show Content Part 7: Self Images And Etc.84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? “I am not a typical person. I do not have typical patterns. It is had for me to put things into a context that does not exist in my reality. Each day is something new and profound. My routines are not disrupted, merely given new ends.” 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? “As... a person? You mean something that is a testament to my character? I think I have favorable, transcendental qualities. A good sense of wonderment, optimism, and humor when those other traits fail me.” 86. What is your greatest weakness? “I don't see my poor qualities all that well. I may be inattentive and undisciplined at times, but it hardly matters when you are your own company. Maybe that makes me vain?” 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? “I like myself fine as is. No complaints. If I could nit-pick, I would be taller... It's very difficult to demand people take you seriously when you have to stand on the tips of your toes and still look up to speak with them.” 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? “Either, as it serves me. I can be a very sociable person, and I find it very easy to 'read people' if you will. People born in your culture seem to have poor social sense, oddly enough. Though as I've said, I am my own company through fat and lean. I know no one else better.” 89. Are you generally organized or messy? “I've never owned enough possessions to make a mess... Though I am not an organized person by any means.” 90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. “I'm good at what I do; I'm a scientist, a mage, and student of the primeval forces which shape our world. I am good at commanding those forces. I'm even better at setting things on fire. I am also nothing but an asset when playing triva games. My failings are... things I don't do. I couldn't heft a stick much less swing a sword, I can't string a bow, and if my life depended on me punching my way out of a wet sack... well, I'd be doomed. Thankfully those glaring deficiencies are mostly countered with ready access to my former qualities.” 91. Do you like yourself? “I believe I've said as much... Several times in fact. Or are you expecting me to suddenly, bitterly break down with another sad tale and confess to hating myself? Because I don't. Self-loathing is a ridiculous concept when you are the one thing you can change in this world.” 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) He rolls his eyes again, but in less of a showy, sarcastic manner as before. He seems to be seriously grappling with himself on how he wants to answer. He looks you over discerningly, his ear flicking as is his established 'tell' for deep, introspective thought. He nods confidently, settling down and staring straight into your eyes with his own. You can feel it hit you in a real, tangible way, as the simmering passion in his eyes ignites into a fully realized inferno. “In truth? It was a dream... A voice in a dream told me I was meant for something else. It spoke to me... with a certainty and intent that no terrestrial thing could manage. It was an assurance, a parting of the waters of fate itself. A....a divine mandate! I can't explain it with language. It was simply a sense of knowing that pervaded all things. I'm not certain what that something else I am destined for is... but I know, with all my being, that this... this Dream Quest is my purpose. It is the ordination of universal law, and I could not steer from it if I chose. No matter what the ends are, I will fulfill them. And I will continue to sojourn until I find that end... “But no, I don't share such willingly, for fear people think I'm mad. How do you describe the indescribable? It sounds like such inane ramblings... perhaps they are. I can't rightly ask others to entreat me as some celestial harbinger based on the voices of my night terrors... But I know, and that is enough for me. Besides, one hardly needs reasons to be an adventurer nowadays. There's money, glory, all sorts of hedonistic pleasures to be seized... no one asks, no one rightly cares. Heroes with Dream Quests are only fairy tales and legends. For others, it's all about earthly pleasures.” He takes his glasses off, breathing onto them and rubbing the lens on his robe as the intensity about him abates. You too would be quick to call the mad house if you hadn't felt it just now. Delusion or not, there was such strength, such passion in his conviction, it had a presence all its own. That was the sort of will, the sort of overwhelming resolution this broken and unbound world needs. You still feel your hand trembling as you record his words on paper. Is this what it felt like... to sit before one touched by destiny? He places his spectacles back on his nose, pushing them up to eye level, then offering a sweet, pleasant smile. “While I'm in the business of disclosing earth-shattering secrets... I really don't need these. They were a gift from the man I'd mentioned before. At the Arcanist guild. He said they were essential to looking the part... and perception is half of magic. A silly notion, but I've been unable to part with them.” 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? “I would like to document fully the nature of the beastmen and their gods. Not as enemies, but that they may be understood, utterly, and in neutrality. It is my belief that scales and fur do not delineate the lack of a soul. They are men.... not men like us, but men all the same. I... I want to believe we may yet live together. It's a big enough world.” 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? “Impossible to say. I come and go as I wish. I may still be traveling... I may be long dead by the time five years comes and goes. I'll move on, with the same sense of wonder and purpose I always maintain.” 95. "I dislike arguing," she says softly. "I would rather let someone think I was wrong than argue with them....though if it was for their safety...I might stand up to them." 67. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not? "I generally do not mind large groups, and in fact find them to be quite entertaining." She laughs. "I enjoy weaving and reading...as well as making small things. Look," she says, picking up a small slip of paper that she removed from her pocket earlier. "My book," she says, running her fingers over its filigreed cover. "It is the last thing I have from my mentor. The rest burned." 72. What is your favorite color? Alcohol does not work well with me...often I cannot hold out for longer than one glass of wine. I black out easily." She blushes. What makes you laugh? "A lot of things," she laughs. "Funny stories are my favorites. I'm quite fond of people who tell jokes often. Though sometimes I laugh when I'm embarrassed, too." 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? "Um...I try not to be offended at things, and understand them instead...violence scares me, sudden violence doubly so. I am afraid of fire, as well..." 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? "I would read, most likely, or weave," she says. "Though if I was in the mood to I would probably go out and wander the city for a while." 81. How do you deal with stress? "I try to deal with it by being reasonable and thinking about things step by step...but sometimes I get overwhelmed...especially when I have accidentally caused harm to someone." She laughs embarrassedly. "I don't often deal with it well...on a few occasions I've ended up crying. But I'd like to get better at that." 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? "I tend to do what comes to me, though if logic is needed I try to apply it. "Mostly I irritate myself...when I say something out of turn, when I accidentally offend someone...but I don't like it when people are rude to others, especially to my friends." I spend days in the Ossuary sometimes, reading...I try to see people I know. Sometime I do errands." She tilts her head. "When it is disrupted...? Well, it's not a very strict routine...but when something does happen it is often something bad...I don't like it when those sorts of things happen...." 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? "My....optimism, I suppose?" She smiles. "I suppose...I am enduring. Thought at some point that must become irritating to some people, ne?" She laughs. 86. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? "Besides giving myself a complete memory? "I wouldn't say I'm very good at anything...b-but I am fairly skilled when it comes to making small things...and learning things on my own. I like to think that I am good at caring for others...or at least worrying about them." She laughs again. "I would say that I am bad at defending myself, and traveling on my own. I'm also fairly bad at recognizing when someone is teasing me," she laughs. 91. Do you like yourself? "Generally," she says. "Although I wish that I was less of a burden." 92. Depends on the subject in question.  I consider myself an honest person, but there are times when 'tis better to say little or nothing. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? None, or so I try to have none.  Bias and prejudice are born of ignorance. Mine is to understand, not to judge.  Sometimes this is difficult. 51. Part 2: Growing Up 15. How would you describe your childhood in general? "It was rather dull when Zularti wasn't there, and full of nuisances when he was present. My parents were very strict and started educating me on all manner of things as young as possible with lessons from private tutors. Between our servants and all my parents associates, I met more people than I could remember names and faces. However, I have little to no one of my own age to associate with aside from Zul. My parents--my father especially--were often busy so I was often alone, left to amuse myself with reading or sewing." 16. What is your earliest memory? "I remember trying to sneak into my father's office one evening after he'd been holed up in there all day. However, my mother caught me and led me away. She told me to leave him alone when he's in his office and not to interrupt his work because it was very important and I would distract him or make a mess of things." 17. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them. "As a child, my parents were my role models. I admired my mother's grace and beauty, and all the lovely things she could sew. I envied my father's calm courage and all the respect those around him gave him. As a young adult, I must admit, I admired Zularti's persistence and his spirit." 21. "My mother nagged me constantly which caused me to resent her, but at the same time we were rather close despite frequent arguments. My father was often busy or away on business, but I was a daddy's girl no less and he could never tell me no, a fact I quickly noticed when I wished to get my way. I never really extensively interacted with any more distant family members. As for Zularti, we bickered a lot, but in the meaningless way that siblings do." 22. "I respect the Twelve, but I place no great faith in any of them. I would rather do things for myself than to rely on the Gods. They haven't exactly performed any miracles for me so far." 43. "It is a private thing, something not to be discussed or done in public, and something best left saved for a single person, particularly under the establishment of marriage or at least a serious, monogamous relationship." 45. Killing is acceptable in the case of necessary self-defense, as well as in the case of a violent criminal who cannot or will not be reformed before more people are hurt. "Betraying someone who cares for him and faithfully believes in him." 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? "I do, and I believe that I found mine." 48. "I suppose there are plenty of things to do that would violate either etiquette or my personal morals. There's no special that particularly springs out to me, though. The best I can say is that I would never harm Val." 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? "Val, Zularti, the free company, or Eorzea or as a whole. To be honest, I'd be willing to risk life and limb if necessary for anyone who deserves it." Part 5: Relationships With Others 53. "Generally very polite, formal, and amiable enough, but I keep them at a distance. Also, I do not entirely hide when I find someone unpleasant. The better I know someone, the less formal I am and the less I keep them at a distance." 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? "Val. He is the love of my life, my husband until death, my best friend and the only person who truly knows me. I know he is utterly devoted to me and will do anything for me, and I would do the same for him. He's the only one who understands." 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? "Zularti. While others may view him as a bumbling idiot--and they aren't necessary wrong--I can clearly see his courage and ambition, and how he inspires the same as others. He may not do much for the company he leads, but the happiness and hope he brings make him an important figurehead." 56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people. "I suppose Val would be my best friend, but that seems to be a redundant thing to say of my spouse. The next option would be Zularti, but I've already described him quite enough. Aside from that, there are some people in the company I enjoy, but I've learned not to grow to close to them. Company members seem to come and go, or show their true colors in time." 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person. "Yes, Val, my husband--though as far as most others know, he's still my fiance. I can't say I ever imagined I'd marry a foul-mouthed, uneducated tribal Seeker. However, he is quite dashing and brave, and he can hold his own in a fight. He is fiercely loyal and deep down, he has a good heart." 58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened. "Yes, once. We eloped, obviously. Though once I can find the perfect dress, a public ceremony will be held." 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? "I looked for someone handsome, someone not cruel, someone who will pamper me, and someone with a strong will." 60. How close are you to your family? "I am not exactly fond of what remains." 61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not? "Not quite yet. Perhaps children may be in the future if we are able to conceive. However, for now, my life has far too much drama, danger, and work for a little one... not to mention, I'd like to enjoy my youth allow Val and I to make the most of our time together as newlyweds. "Generally, doing work for the company, as that's the day we formally meet. The meeting takes only a couple bells, but for me the work tends to be an all-day affair. "I wake up in the morning and ready myself for the day, then enjoy a leisurely breakfast. I then venture to the company estate and go to my office to catch up on paperwork and help anyone who has need of me. Then, I eat lunch, and often meet someone over the meal. Then I finish my errands for the day and either return home or spend my evenings in one the of the major cities relaxing and meeting people. After that, I enjoy my night with Val and catch some sleep for the next day. It's a bit irksome if the routine is interrupted, as it tends to mean some work is being neglected, but I'm used to the disruptions and keep things flexible." 85. So I'm a turd and might edit this post in pieces when I get more of these done, but I am totally necromancing this thread.  Mainly because I like these things, and they're fun to take as in-character questions.  I'm only finished with the first part so far (I've barely played this guy yet, I have to leave some surprises), and was initially only going to keep it to myself, but I figured I may as well toss it up somewhere. (And maybe get more people to do the whole thing, these are fun to read too~)   Here is an introduction to a nerd, presented in a verbose fashion. Show Content Part 1: The BasicsPart 1: The Basics 1.What is your fullname? Xavarian blinks at the sudden question, moving his fingers for a time until they lightly clench in uneven fists. “I go by Xavarian.. Mystrife.” He opens his mouth like me might say something more, but looks off, and starts fidgeting his hands again.   2.Where and when were you born? Lips purse at the question.  His brow furrows and his eyes glance back before his head turns to follow, inspecting the stranger. “Your curiosities are oddly specific… In a where lower than here, and a when prior to now.”  The duskwight is clearly having some trouble moments after speaking this with keeping a straight face, like he’s almost proud of his vaguer.  His hands have stopped their fidgeting. 3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) … Though this question makes them clench harder, and his covered amusement turns to something of more worry.  He speaks lower with a soft tone. “I am son to Zalshirroix and Vadesmae Mystrife.”  It seems that’s all he’s willing to say. 4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like? Another pursed lip glance to the stranger.  His eyes lock on the one asking questions,unless looked back at, in which Xavarian quickly looks away. “No, do you?” 5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people. Xavarian bristles a bit at the question, pressing his lips to a line, and crossing his arms. “I live among the ones I live with, in the place I live with them, and that place is as a place is, and they are as those ones are.  With no guidance, it is likely about as easy for you to see there as you might glimpse through my words; pray tell, why is this of matter?” 6.What is your occupation? Xavarian’s cheeks puff up for a moment by the air he fills them with, before letting out a small sigh to release it.  “I-I am... an Adventurer.  A mage, a student of magic, more specifically, and- a.. scholarly sort, one who seeks knowledge.  By that I mean that I do more than simply sit about in rooms with tomes, and work much more frequent in the field.   And not that there is anything wrong with rooms of tomes, they’re most exquisite as well, actually but- Well, I suppose I do sit around in them enough.  I- oh, seven hells.” Xavarian rubs his face and fidgets a bit more. “I deal in various artifacts, locations long forgotten, places of aetherical potency and abrnomality, hm?  Or just.. with certain sorts of knowledge.  Well, many sorts of knowledge.  All sorts of knowledge.  But the kind that really needs searching for to be known.  It’s then that I find it~  Though I also create, bind, and mend tomes, and could work as a scribe to those who need it, I.. partake in the latter less now.” 7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Xavarian opens his mouth, then closes it again, making an odd face at the questioner. “Why?  What is this? You can see me quite fine, I should think, unless you can’t see well at all, but certainly writing won’t help you then … Have I already done something that needs my identification~?” An amused, yet subtle smirk crosses his features, as though this does entertain him, but he’s not quite sure if it should.  … He doesn’t actually write a description unless he gets a suitable answer.   Though by appearance, he is a slightly-taller-than-average-but-not-THAT-tall duskwight elezen, at about 6 fulms, 8 ilms tall, with a slightly slimmer shoulder’d build from the average elezen.  His skin is a dark, charcoal grey hue, with bright teal eyes that squint and dart about, starkly contrasting the bright crimson markings around them.  He has a rounded, ovular face, with a single scar visible on  the right of his jaw trailing down his neck just a small ways, and a large, bridgey nose above often-pursed lips.  His quite dark, subtly red-streaked hair is a mess that only seems to curl further down the ends and flip out whenever it can, and he appears to have an uneven number of gold piercings favoring one long ear over the other.  The clothing Xavarian wears gives him the impression of someone arguably well off – a theme seems to be the colors black and gold, but there are a number of red accents, and a silver symbol that repeats itself often on clasps and motifs on these clothes.  Packs and pouches of all sorts line his belt, staff strapped to his back, and a large tome at his side. On a single shoulder seems to hover an odd, aetherically placed red gemstone of sorts, right in the middle of one of those repeating symbols, large and made of some silver metal like a poor shoulder guard.  From certain angles the floating gem looks like an eye… however, it doesn’t appear to have any real purpose, and simply remains in place like any other part of his clothing might. 8.To which social class do you belong? “I.. hm.” Xavarian looks to be in thought for a time, and likely wouldn’t come out of it until the questioner gave some indication of their presence once more. “Oh!  Hells, excuse me.”  More fidgeting, but only for a moment, before hands are clasped together.  “It’s hard to say clearly in a way that might be understood… Not that I doubt your understanding!  But the – my culture is.. Well, our ideas of‘social class’ differ between families, hm? We respect each other, but among our families, we’ve our own.. customs of doing things each and every.  I.. I suppose you could say that I am in..lower, eventually mid-ground standing to my family?  But my family is generally considered in well regard, among their company.  It can change, but.. that is what I departed with.”  The duskwight makes a skeptical face, as though unsure if that’s how he wanted to explain it, but then shakes his head, pressing his lips together and looks off. 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? A glance back and another furrowed brow are given to the questioner. “Well, I’m not the one you would be best betting on in a fight of fists or brawn, I will say that much, if that is what you’re asking.  But I’ve.. other ways to reclaim lost aptness.” 10. Are you right-or left-handed? The duskwight holds up his left hand and wiggles his fingers once, features eventually breaking into a smirk.  “Though, any good mage can use both hands~” He adds with a spot of amused pride. 11. What does your voice sound like? The smirk widens, as he lets out a snicker.  He has a surprisingly deep voice for his demeanor, often quiet as he hardly tends to raise it too loudly.  It would almost sound like what one might consider of a villain in a tale, were it not for the young man’s uncertainty, occasional sputtering, and sporadic odd-placed amusement.  In addition, with fits of excitement, he seems to have an occasionally more prevalent accent of some sort… “Well, you certainly have ears to hear it with, lest you’d not be asking all these questions~  Or maybe you don’t, and you just like to watch movements?  What a peculiar one that would make you~” A dorkily pleased smile is added to the end of that. 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? “Oh, I- Well- … Hm.”  He looks thoughtful for just a moment before blinking back in realization. “Hm!  That’s one, ‘Hm~’  Or I believe I do that a lot, hm? …”  The duskwight pauses and cracks up at that.  “Yes, that is one.  I ask many questions about knowledge…  Perhaps- … ‘perhaps’ is another.  At times ‘one’, but not always~” 13. What do you have in your pockets? The duskwight blinks, then looks down, as though to check if his pockets were there… or which ones.  He has a number of bags, scroll cases, potions, and a book strapped to his belt and coat, along with a staff on his back.  “Pockets.. Might these bags-?  Well, I- what’s in them is not necessarily-  I mean, some food, a map, maps actually, books and paper with.. materials for binding and scribing, components for… something… And other- …various trinkets of… use.” The duskwight clears his throat, likely not naming all the things he’s carrying on him. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Xavarian purses his lips, as he often does, opens his mouth to speak, closes it, then smirks a little and rubs his face. “I- I have been told, at times, that I can be.. cryptic~”  A somewhat pleased grin crosses his features, and he speaks with a small lilt to his voice.  “But what is anyone if not a puzzle, and one only those with knowledge enough can truly solve~?”  He gestures with a little excitement.  “I think that sort is quite the compliment~  And, I- well-“  He gestures a bit more before snickering.  “That!  My hands will my words in frequency, they are oft to fall behind my thoughts at times, and- I seem to think they need coaxing~  The words, I mean.  I gesture often.”  He clarifies with a small huff.  “A-And.. there’s..There’s the Aetherical anomaly of the elements doing as they will about me at times.  … Which is a- Oh hells, sometimes I can’t seem to keep my Aether down.  It-“  He gestures, as though that would help.  “It reacts to what my state is in ways I don’t often expect.  Not too dangerously!  Mostly.  But, well- sometimes it frosts my pages, or heats my scrolls at a breakneck rate, or- Seven hells, the amount of times I’ve caused a spark and made my hair, other’s hair! stand on end, as amusing as that is~  Though I really can’t have my-“  He abruptly pauses, fishmouthing once.  The temperature around him drops a little. “Er… I can’t have that, now, can I?”  He crosses his arms, huffing and looking off as he does, as though that's the end of that question. "Ala Mhigo, tha propper one, not that sand pit." 3.Who are/were your parents? -winces slightly- "Aldric Allard, he never told me who my mother was, but i assume she's dead, like he is now." 4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like? "No clue, maybe...tha old man was very keen ta leave some sort'a legacy." 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? "I've a few 'omes, one's a cave, another's a particular tree i fancy as being particularly comfortable  but i mostly stay with a, Ms. Ambreaus in tha Lavender beds, just outside Gridania. What is your occupation? "I am a self-employed mechanic. I repair things: chronometers, necklaces, magitek, mammets, items of that nature. Eventually I would like to...learn more about airship mechanics, but getting an apprenticeship at Highwind Skyways is harder than you might think." 7. "My right arm has an embarrassing twitch sometimes. And those who know me are quite aware that I'm, erm...what did she call it? A wallflower? My mother was inflicted with her illness when I turned...7, so I had to spend a lot of time at home to take care of her while my father and brother worked the rivers. Romi stayed with me and kept me company, and we spent many days reading and making our own small adventures." 16. What is your earliest memory? "I remember going into the main room of our cottage and watching my mother sew. She would make the most beautiful, colorful quilts I've ever seen. Her face was so kind, and she ruffled my hair, kissed my forehead, and told me to go play outside." 17. How much schooling have you had? "Not much, I'm afraid, aside from what Romi would teach me through her books. I never had an opportunity to go to school, and we couldn't afford private tutors. I did learn to read, and write, and some basic mathematics." 18. Did you enjoy school? "I enjoyed learning, even if I didn't go to a school. Romi's books were filled with stories about the world. Geography, science, magic...I took in as much as I could, though I doubt I remember most of it by now." 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? "My skills with daggers were taught when I became a little older, around 13 cycles, I think. Oakbarrow...wasn't a safe place. It was plagued by voidsent attacks from a nearby rift, and I had to quickly learn to defend my home. When not taking care of my mother, I would scout with Romi or others and help fend off any attacks. As for my current skills as a mechanic, I've learned most of them since arriving in Ul'dah and participating in various apprenticeships. As well as tinkering on the side." 20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them. "The closest role model I had was my father. He was a hard worker, understanding, kind... I've always wanted to show respect and be respectable, like he was." 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? "My father was as good as he could be, though, ah, we are not all without faults. Still, there was no conflict between us. My mother, though she could do little on her own, was always grateful and kind to me. My brother, however... He was never content with the life we had, and we'd often ram heads...until the day he left, to pursue his own goals. I believe it was 4 cycles ago that he walked away." 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? "[laughs] When I was very young, I wanted to be a pirate. You can blame Romi's books for that. But truly, I didn't know what I wanted to be. All I knew is that I wanted to help my family...somehow." 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? "Reading, playing pretend with Romi... Even back then, I used to tinker with little things and try to come up with new inventions that never worked. Perhaps that's where I first discovered my interest in mechanics." 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? "Romi says I was gullible. Ah, no, very gullible. I'd believe just about anything she told me. ...I'm not sure much has changed... Mm, anyroad, I think I was a good child. Or I tried to be. I wanted to help." 25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like? "There were a few children my age in Oakbarrow. I knew them very well when I was small, but when I had to start staying at home, I grew distant from them. I'd see them on occasion while running an errand, but it wasn't until we started fighting voidsent together that I spent any real time with them. So, ah, no...I suppose I wasn't any form of popular until a bit later in my life. There was Romi, of course, as quirky then as she is now. And then there was Elia, Nicholas, Ben...Payaja, Rosa... "Monsters and voidsent, yes. Other people... Hm... If you had asked me that a few moons ago, I would have adamantly said 'no'. But recent events have shown me that perhaps I've...been too naive. If I must choose between the lives of those I love and the lives of those trying to harm them, I will choose to protect the ones I love. Every time." 46. "I'm afraid you're asking this to a man currently inflicted with lovesickness. [chuckles] But in truth, I believe everything happens for a reason, even with the falling ins and outs of love. "Being at peace with yourself and those around you. Having people that care for you, and caring for them in return. The rest will fall into place, if you are motivated in your goals." 49. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? "Lili, my fiancée, has slowly shown me that I don't have to hide. And though I struggle and stammer, she has been there for me with gentle words and encouragments. I love her dearly, and there is no one more important than she." 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? "Lili undoubtedly has my utmost respect and admiration...but Romi is highly esteemed in my eyes as well. "Romi has been my life-long best friend, and I whole-heartedly respect her. She is a strange little Lalafell...but once you learn her quirks, you'll find that she's...very dependable. There is also Lili, although...I sincerely sure hope she would be my best friend, seeing as we're to be wed. Aside from those two, there are a few others... She's...the love of my life. I never knew how incomplete I was without her... Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened. "I don't believe my adolescent relationship with Rosa was love, though I do remember being fond of her. Ah...so...my first and only love has been for Lili. She pursued me, fought through the walls of politeness and distance I had built around my heart, and showed me that there was someone out there who cared. She has been the best thing to ever happen to me, and she deserves nothing less than my whole devotion." 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? "I never intended to find a lover, truly, or to look for one. But I'm fond of people with kind hearts, wisdom, sincerity..." 60. How close are you to your family? "There are some things I can't be protected against...but I know many in the Society who are very capable of dealing with dangerous situations. I believe I could trust them to protect me, if I needed it..." 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? "O-oh, uh... I'm sure Lili would, and Romi, perhaps Miss Miata... Uh... I'm just quiet and not very distinct, it's unlikely many others would notice..." 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? "I don't despise anyone...even if I should. Ado's kidnapper ought to be hated by me, and yet...I more pity him. How does a mind become so twisted? Is it pleasure? Desperation? Hm... I want justice to be brought on him, and I wish him to stay far away from those I love. I do not despise him...but I would not show him mercy." 66. If someone is thinking badly of me, I'd like to work to fix that. But it doesn't drive my personal decisions...though I do seek out input from those I care about..." "I...have little from my hometown. Just some clothes, and a large blue blanket... Is that a strange treasured possession? A blanket? What, if anything, shocks or offends you? "I like to think that I don't get offended easily. Or I try not to, anyway. Unexpected things are shocking, but I can't think of anything specific." 80. "Oh, I'd likely do what I always do when I can't sleep: start up the fireplace, put on some tea, get a good book, and read until dawn or until I fall sleep." 81. How do you deal with stress? "Mm, I withdraw, unfortunately. Not from the cause of the stress, but from others. I've always preferred to deal with my problems alone, though I'm learning that isn't how it has to be..." 82. "Mm, wake up, make tea and breakfast, set up my schedule for the day, get to work, take a break with some lunch and free time, do more work, make deliveries and pick-ups, work... ... I do work quite a bit, now that I think of it... But my routine is fairly lenient, and I often find myself away from my business to do other things." 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? "U-uh... M-my uh... Hm... Work ethic? Ah..." 86. What is your greatest weakness? "... Passivity. There are times when I should take charge and do more, but...I don't know why, but I choose to do nothing... I just stand there and let things happen, and then I regret..." 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? "Er, physically? My aetheric condition, without a doubt. Emotionally? Just...I'd like to be bolder, I suppose..." 88. "I try to take good care of and be orderly with what I have...though sometimes I lose track of things..." 90. You'd think I'd be decent at it, considering I lived in a forest all my life, but alas. Also, I'm very bad at all forms of magic, and apparently I'm not a very good jeweler, either..." 91. I like knowing that I'm...doing good in the world. Things may not always be black and white, but if I can make things even a little better, that's enough for me." 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? "I hadn't thought that far ahead until very recently. I'd just like to find a cure for my condition, settle down with Lili, grow our businesses...raise a family... Ah, I-I suppose that's nothing grandiose, but that's all I want." 94. But if I had my way, I'd be living in the Mist with my lovely wife and children, sailing in our airship to far off places and coming back to two booming businesses!" 95. Eligor Abigor 2.Where and when were you born? A massive floating multi sectioned castle-city 3.Who are/were your parents? Father: Still secret Mother: Edilta Abigor, the Abigor(think chief or queen) of Eligor's progenitor people. 4.Do you have any siblings? Sister: Alinor Abigor, Eligor's older sister and current Abigor. Also somewhat psychotic. 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? In the Mists, with his three daughters. 6.What is your occupation? Varied, but best known for work as an assassin and armor maker. Somewhat known as an inventor of sorts(or rather figuring out how old technology works and using it to his advantage). 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Short, lightweight lalafell with Red hair. He keeps his eyes hidden at all times, dresses himself according to whatever he feels or is doing, has two red brands on his cheeks that look like tattoos(but are actually manifistations of his actual appearance suppressed), and a cracked crystal in his forehead. He also has naturally sharper than normal teeth. That is not to say he has nightmare fuel teeth, only that all of them end at one point or another(Imagine your teeth now, only pointy at the end. Is rather well paid, but prefers to only live as such when it suits his goals, instead putting his money into work, friends, and his daughters especially, as well as much of his personal research and "inventions". 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? While dulled, the crystal in his forehead is capable of causing him great pain if struck in one way or another. Large amounts of aether also have the side effect of making him ill, inexplicably appearing as cuts and bleeding. 10. Are you right- or left-handed? Ambidextrous. 11. What does your voice sound like? Either sweetly feminine or criminally insane depending on how you catch him. 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? Any sentence that ends in a question mark really. He is overly inquisitive. 13. What do you have in your pockets? If he is wearing anything with pockets at the time, then typically linkpearls and papers describing his latest mark. He keeps money and weapons tied to his person in pouches and with wires. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? He is wildly unpredictable at times, earning the suspicion of those around him more often than not. His capacity for ignoring morals and abhorrent actions tend to bother others as well. Part 2: Growing Up 15. How would you describe your childhood in general? Awful. 16. What is your earliest memory? Getting screamed at by people for things he did not understand. 17. How much schooling have you had? He has no official schooling, either learning offhand from others or teaching himself later in life. 18. Did you enjoy school? See above. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? His skills with blades and other tools came from his best friend and teacher, her brutal teachings being responsible for the bulk of how he has been shaped today. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? His sister, Crazy Dan, his teacher. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? He got along wonderfully with his sister until the end of Thronefall. He never will meet his father as he died immediately after his birth, and his relationship with his mother is....was....hostile, at best. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Stronger 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Hiding 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? Cowardly, clingy, ditzy 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? Noooooooope. His only friend for the longest time was his sister. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? His sister(Before they knew they were related) 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? Nope, that's all I will say there. 28. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. He was born to a clan of mages, but he still has yet to find out this fact, as he lostis memory. Other than his hereditary traits, he is more or less normal. Part 3: Past Influences 29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? Too many to list 30. Who has had the most influence on you? His teacher, whom even after losing his memory has persisted in his mind, her teachings burned into his mind and body like melting metal on ice. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Managing to stay alive in his day to day. 32. What is your greatest regret? Not being able to save the family that showed him kindness when he first crashed upon Eorzea, instead being an instrument of their doom. 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? Technically speaking, genocide of almost the entirety of his clan, including but not limited to both of his parents. 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? It would be safe to assume that's a yes. 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? When he was a child. 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? A miqo'te vomiting on him in public while trying to hire her. 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? He would always want to save all those he was too weak to protect. 38. What is your best memory? Umm.....get back to you on that. Sounds like something a dying person would answer honestly. 39. What is your worst memory? A memory so horrid he repressed the entire event. Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions 40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Somewhere inbetween, but probably more optimistic than he lets on. 41. What is your greatest fear? Himself, unknown to others. 42. What are your religious views? He doesn't care. 43. What are your political views? He finds them necessary but absolutely loathes them, as it runs completely contradictory to his previous teachings of righteousness through overwhelming force and power. 44. What are your views on sex? His views on this are rather shaky. He does not have anything against it at all, he even studied it carefully. But to speak of, he is oblivious to the notion of sex in general. As he has little(remembered) sexual experience, he does not even fully understand when he is aroused, usually thinking it is something akin to anger or hunger. 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? He is, and there is no circumstance where he finds it unacceptable, only extremely disagreeable. Due to his philosophies, he views death with a cold indifference unless he is directly emotionally involved, and even then he would not call it wrong. 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? For him, it would be lying without a true purpose. He hates how covered in lies the world is, again due to his views. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? This concept is lost on him. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Power, unbending and unyielding. 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? This varies greatly on whom he would be interacting with, and what he is trying to accomplish at the time. If he is serious however, he keeps people at arms length, but will not lie on his views if asked directly without good reason. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? He is biased towards those he cares about, wanting them to be pleased as much as possible. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? He would never lie without a reason, the same with killing. That is not to say the reasons have to be grand or even excusable, but they have to exist as a minimum. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? Those he cares for, or believes he is responsible for. Part 5: Relationships With Others 53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? Varied. If you get to know him then how he treats you personally will become more consistent, but you could fall anywhere on the spectrum truly. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Ruruni Runi. He fell in love with her, but even after sabotaging his relationship with her to keep her at arms length, he has placed her on a pedestal of sorts, wanting her desires to come true while making her believe that he doesn't care one way or the other, his frustration slowly mounting and becoming more apparent as he interacts with her. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? His teacher, she is literally the strongest person or occurrence he believes he has ever seen, a perfect living example of the goal he needs to reach before he can change the world as he pleases. 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? He has a lot of friends worthy of mention, but whether or not they actually view him as a friend in return is the true question. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? Nope 58. Have you ever been in love? Yes. One died, the other he pushed away. 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Qualities he does not or will not see in himself, as well as honesty. Looks help too. 60. How close are you to your family? Uh.....he is very close to his adopted family, absolutely not so with his biological family. 61. Have you started your own family? Yes. He unintentionally adopted a highlander girl by the name of Pheria. She then took it upon herself to adopt two more daughters for him, an Elezen named Bonslette and a Miqo'te named P'lami. 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Depends on what kind of help he needs. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Truly, he does not, but he does employ bodyguards. Most notable among them is Banryu Minamoto. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? His daughters. Pheria searched for him for years after he disappeared, refusing to believe he perished with no trace or carnage in his wake. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Himself for his spells where he loses control of himself, waking later to the disorienting destruction and rejection of those who were subjected to it. 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Depends on the subject matter and those that would be affected. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Sometimes, albeit unintentionally. He prefers to listen, given the chance. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? If you could choose, how would you want to die? Topped in battle by one who could kill him after reaching the absolute limit of his potential, if he could ever find it.
