Their game, their rules. I don't particularly agree with it but let's not pretend as if is the first bizarre stance that the developers have taken. It's also why more people should make a genuine effort to familiarise themselves with the terms of service instead of just skipping through them.

I always wished it wasn't against the ToS, I do very well for myself (and I don't mean I'm rich) but real $$$ isn't an issue for me. In-game $$ is always hard to come by for me. So I usually fund my in game money with real money, when it's possible of course...

Unless you're worried about just losing the account itself, not much safeguard against that.

It wouldn't really matter how it was done. Even if you trust someone with your account it's still against the rules and not really something appropriate for discussion here. Wink

Actually this isn't true, at least if I understand what you mean by casinos and raffles (there may be something else going on I'm unaware of). If you're just talking about betting money on /random though, that was clearly stated as not being against the ToS. You can find their response to itÂ here. I apologize for going off topic, I just wanted to clear this up.

If I recall correctly one of the main things sought out during the hunt for gil sellers is suspicious listings on the market board. If there's thousands of animal hides available for a single gil and someone buys the one available for fifty thousand then it's possible that it'll be flagged and investigated.

Don't sell it on the market board, sell it in person.
