Well... I'll be an Au Ra... that's a change...

The question carries more implications than one might realize. Simply being able to go into Ishgard is not sufficient cause to uproot one's entire life.

If Crofte still has a job after 2.55, she just can't up and leave the Sworn. If she ever goes to Ishgard in-character, it will probably be as the body guard of some Thanalan dignitary or ambassador.

On the other hand, if Nanamo does step down and the Sworn are dissolved or merged with another branch, she may leave and re-join the Brass Blades.

There is also her whole relationship with a certain Monetarist nobleman that must be considered. If things continue as they are, she's almost set for life, so why would she rock the boat now?

I do not foresee my RP changing much, if at all, with 3.0. At the most, I see a lot of new places to just sit and eat dinner.

It's still too early to say whether Graeham will go to Ishgard or not. It's likely, especially if business with his Free Company ends up taking him there but I'm not going to force it. He isn't the biggest fan of cold weather and he has heard that Ishgardians aren't the most friendly sort when it comes to interacting with outsiders.

He'll be another year older and his training with a firearm will reach the next stage. So he'll become a machinist as per the personal storyline I've been feeding him over the past few months.

This also means that he'll be fighting those who threaten his allies which should prove interesting as he's been in a non-combat role thus far.

Actually I'm hoping 3.0 will be the beginning of my role playing adventure. Tongue I've speculated a lot about characters, but nerves have always gotten the best of me when it comes to actually approaching people. Blush

If things go to plan, I'll be making my main an Au Ra. She will be an ambassador - some sort of secondary ambassador, so it doesn't go against any lore. I think that would work and not be off putting for others? ._. Goodness, I'm no good at this. Any way, she will have to meet a lot of people, and travel around, which will help me create relationships and get a foot into the RP community. Well, that's the ideal hope any way. Blush

I think a more appropriate question would be "How will the 3.x series effect your RP? Predictions?"

3.0 will only set the standard of gameplay, raid, amd combat. Of course it fires off the start of the story, especially since we're introducing new jobs and a whole new race and a city. But the other cities will be around, and the story will grow as 3.x continues. Like Nanamo stepping down, Gridania founding a new West Shroud, etc.

It's too early, imo. But I can say that MCH will take Oscare in a more practical turn.

New markets, new sources of dubious products, new customers. It's possible, based on how the Scales plot resolves, that there may be a hook in that direction as well.

I doubt it will change much for Sazhi'to, though the opening of a new branch of magic to investigate may pique his interest. Not as much as airship travel to more Nym ruins than WP would though. (Wink wink nudge nudge say no more, eh Dev Team?)

Perhaps Nako's smuggli.... trading career takes a more humanitarian turn... who knows.

all I know is Nako is likely going to try to pick up Astrologian if the lore allows. And beyond that, its all simply more trade routes to plund.... look into.

I don't know. Ember not only dislikes the cold but she is outright fearful of it. I can't see her willingly going to Ishgard unless it was an extreme situation. I'm expecting her to hang out at the beach while you all freeze to death. Tongue

For various reasons I'll be going to paladin as a main after 3.0 launches, and I enjoy my main job and RP job to coincide. So Sigrid's started to look into sword/shieldy/armor things and there's still a lot of RP that she needs to do to go down that road fully. Might not entirely happen but it's the direction I want to start steering her in. Elsewise, she's always to be found where violence and adventure await, and if the pot is being stirred in Ishgard, she'll be there with sword and shield. Or axe. Or both, really.

Not to sure just yet.

Being a mercenary, he might take a trip there to see if there's any work to be done, he doesn't mind the cold too much (Not that he's really ever felt it). It might be awhile before Makyn makes it there.

I wish I knew the details of 3.0, because things are going to happen fast and furious for Aya (because of the story, this was not an intention on my part) and I doubt I'll have much of a plan going into it.

All I know is that it is going to be the most dramatic moment in Aya's life since she entered the gameworld.

I'm kind of playing it by ear for now. In the meantime I have some side RP projects, just trying to meet people and figure out what my options! I won't be committing to anything in particular just yet. This is because of the lack of Au Ra lore and my current roster of friends are all Ishgardians, heretics or not- it could be somewhat difficult to work with! Or more fun, depending on my particular flavors of RP.

I still would like to cement myself as something of an antagonist though, I can't imagine being too much of a good guy. I'm sure some nice things will happen along the way, but that won't last forever I'm sure.

Considering how the Sultanate is going to shit, and democracy will be the reigning power in Ul'Dah. Flynt's gonna go bankrupt. Which means one hell of a retcon session since I didn't predict that to be an actual hindrance. Already rewrote most of Flynt's involvement with the city so it won't flat out ruin him. Now he's similar, though instead of a hustling businessman, he's the lethal butler archetype. Gotta go find myself a boss and whatnot now. Though I kinda want to make Flynt a drifting type of fighter like Dudley in Street Fighter. Still silly, but now more workable with the incoming MSQ development.
