I had IRL issues and a lot of depressions - and had to go off on hiatus from FF14 for a month or two.  It's never too bad to take a break for yourself. the game can always wait and players will be there too. Should your friends are not there anymore, there are newer friends. Otherwise, you can always remind them that you are back and you want to play again.
