
I mostly made Chachan's page because... well, I could. It's a lot like the whole trading card deal that Warren said, but there's also that nice feeling of looking at the finished product and saying "Yup, that's my character. I did that."
Even just adding little tidbits that give passing mention to what the character has done, the relationships they've made... it helps really drive home that this character is out there doing things. Meeting people. Plus, it's a nice reference point for both yourself and anyone who wants to know about your character.
Could there be meta-data the other player could use? Possibly, but hopefully most players I would like to play with will avoid using knowledge they shouldn't have. Plus, I don't think knowing a few bullet points about major events in a character's life really ruins the experience of actually meeting the character. It's like reading about... I dunno, Weird Al, let's say... and running across the guy at a Starbucks and hitting it off. It's not exactly like that, of course - since it's you reading about the person and not your own character - but I feel the comparison applies considering you are meeting the character as much as your own character is.
