Even with all of Garlemald's technical advances, the first Emporer Solus zos Galvus, recently died in his seventies. Despite being a soldier and Legatus early in life, he's probably the single most well taken care of individual in Garlemald. So probably the exact same lifespan as everyone else. Average lifespan might be higher, but the likelihood of being slaughtered in their campaign for world domination doesn't help the average.

Meaning, they will look like children for longer than we do (maybe until 15?) and like teens for longer than we do (maybe until 25?), and so on. So perhaps Alphinaud and Alisaie could be in their twenties. They do sound a lore more experienced and wise than their look gives, that is for sure.
According to Tales from the Calamity, Alphinaud and Alisaie were 11 during the calamity, so that makes them about 16/17.
<_< Well then, the lore team needs to put their shit together.
To be fair, the Tales of the Calamity story about Alphinaud establishes that Alphinaud and Alisae are both incredibly gifted intellectuals, entering the Studium at a very young age. So nothing wrong with the lore team. They're just child geniuses.
