At any point in time, a character usually has more than a few choices to consider in any given situation. Out of the plausible choices, I often do choose to go down the path where I think it would add to the enjoyment of my RP partners as well as enrich the story.
Then there are also those forks in the road where I know without a doubt what my character would do and I usually do not shy away from that.
I have yet to recall any incidences where I regretted the RP choices that I made... except for one.
At the beginning of No Good Deed, I had no idea where the story would go, only that it would be a clash of ideals between two people. Then as the arc progressed, I began to see a certain recurring foreshadowing. I believe my RP partner was setting it up that way. I still had some hope that it was just one possible end, but not the end that the two would reach.
Then of course, when we got to the end of the story, I saw no other path that Roen would take.
I do not regret the ending, there is a part of me that loves tragedies. But looking back on it, I do regret that Nero died at the end of it. He was a fantastic character, and still with more layers to discover. And Nero and Roen had barely scratched the surface in terms of coming to truly understand each other.
So yeah. While I do not regret the course the story had taken, I do regret that it resulted in a loss of a character that to this day I still would have loved to know more about.
