I'd direct you to the hundreds of threads about the subject on the WoW healing forums, but I'll just put it to you this way - after 7 years of saving people's asses on a regular basis, you start to lose patience with people deliberately being assholes. And since healing is the one thing the healer actively controls, it's also the one thing the healer can use to effect change. But I also consistently main healers, and do not enjoy DPS or tanking roles.
