Starfall Trading Co. Weekly Report - May 8th

Happy Sunday, everybody! Catboss and Ser Dezzalot here with your weekly Starfall Trading Co. Report. This week, we had finally brought our little vacation in La Noscea to a close and we are currently packing our bags to our next destination: Ul'dah!

Additionally, we've finally concluded our first ever storyline with some pretty interesting results!

Company Sparring Event

Our week started off with a friendly sparring session at Moreby Drydocks. With last week's treasure map finally deciphered, it was a perfect opportunity to get in a bit of practice should we face any danger along the way in the future. It was quite a good turnout, and everyone fought to the best of their ability against their friends and rivals. Two members in particular, Haru and Balther, came out on top in terms of being undefeated for the duration of the event (Thanks, RNG). Well done, you two!

Of Steam and Cannonballs

Our next adventure brought us to Camp Bronze Lake, where the company took the time to relax in the steamy waters and recover from some of the beatings they have obtained during the sparring session. It was a pretty relaxing day and it gave an opportunity for us all to get to know each-other a little bit more. Haru and Balther's fighting spirit never left from the other day, as they once again went at it in the hot-springs! It was quite a spectacular display of both Balther's hand-to-hand combat as well as Haru's use of magic.

A Heart Full of Adventure

Our final journey this week brought us to Eastern La Noscea, where we embarked on our little treasure hunt. For those who have been following our journey, Releki had fished up a note in the bottle while on a fishing trip in Costa Del Sol that held nothing but the word "MOSS". After a few days of stuffing our heads into maps and books, we've finally discovered that the note was a faded map that lead to the South of Wineport. Armed and ready to go (with an additional guest!) , Starfall began their little hunt.

Story SummaryAlong the way, the company discovered some interesting objects scattered around the area. An old rucksack, drawings, art supplies, and a torn up notebook with an adventure log of some sort. Clueless as to whether the company's findings were related to the map at hand, the company pressed on further into Raincatcher's Gulley.

Tragedy soon stuck the company as one of the bridges soon gave way with the added weight of everyone, especially those who were more heavily armored. Balther's streak of luck soon came to an end as he fell through the bridge along with the old weathered planks keeping it together. Luckily, we've managed to get him out in one piece and carried on with our adventure.

Again, the company came across some more oddities along the pathway. Footprints, old tools, and yet another piece of parchment sticking out of the ground..which coincidentally, matched up with the parchment that Releki had fished up to reveal a map as well as a cry for help coming from an unknown source. Heading Westward, we carried on searching for whatever 'treasure' the map was leading to..until we came face-to-face with an aged, hulking mass of a goobue. Regardless, the company was successful in slaying the creature with minor injury.

Seveno, as well as the rest of the company discovered a treasure coffer hidden within a bed of moss. It turned out that the whole idea of a treasure hunt didn't go to waste after-all! Inside of the coffer was a bed of gil, as well as some gemstones and gold nuggets. That wasn't all, though. A note was spotted inside, revealing the purpose of the coffer. It was then that the missing pieces of the puzzle were finally put together, and all of the company's findings linked into one huge mess of a story.

A man by the name of 'Moss' decided to leave his fortune to a band of adventurers in Raincatcher's Gulley and sold a map to a street vendor in Ul'dah. A Hyuran man by the name of Marius purchased said map and brought along his friends - a Lalafellin artist named Papala and a Roegadyn named Razing Bison, to hunt for said treasure. Unfortunately, said adventurers met a tragic end while on the hunt. In a final attempt to reach out for help in the wilderness, one of the survivors tore a piece of the map and stuck it in a bottle, soon tossing it into the ravine nearby and leaving a warning, though its contents to this day are a tad muddled.

This event in general went pretty smoothly and took some expected turns. We'd like to give a huge thank you to those who've decided to join in on our adventure. It also gave us a bit of help in figuring out what events and systems need a bit of tweaking in the company, and also gave us a bit of insight on future events as well!
