As far as he's concerned he'd prefer to see peace between the Empire and Eorzea but after learning what went down in Ishgard he has become increasingly disillusioned with Eorzea's hypocrisy. He also isn't fond of the idea of Garleans being slaughtered just because they're, well, Garlean which is what he suspects is on the horizon due to the rising tensions between the two forces.
