Yeah, playing a traditional vampire in FFXIV would be very lorebreaking. Playing an aether vampire, on the other hand, is merely lorebending, and a lot more RPers are willing to go along with that. What I mean by "aether vampire" is a character with a voidsent-like ability to steal aether from other living beings. I play a character with this ability, and I have a friend who took the concept farther and plays a character who, due to reasons that are long and involved, can't regenerate aether anymore and has no choice but to feed on other people's aether to survive. Queue plenty of vampiric angst.
"Aether vampire," by the way, is a purely OOC term. Since there are no vampires in Eorzea (as far as we're aware), it wouldn't make sense to use that term ICly.
As for the rest, I'm always very leery of people who are looking for an RP partner (especially one of the opposite gender) to embark on a long-term and exclusive RP plot with them. You're asking someone to become isolated from other RPers and devote themselves primarily, or even solely, to your story. That's a lot to ask, and it could even open the door to abuse.Â
My advice to you would be to create your character, try to make sure they're reasonably lore-abiding, and try to build up a network of RP-partners. You might find what you're looking for that way, and you'll have an opportunity to build some trust before you ask a potential RP partner to invest large amounts of time in your plot.
