In a city of gold, under a blazing sun does the heat rise. With it, a darkness, growing in intensity and choking the air with urgency and rage. Designs clash, and inevitably, a showdown, as sparks ignite into fullest blaze...

Rumors and Story Aspects
a) Dangerous Game (Friday, March 31st, 2017, 9 pm CST)
A surveying expedition headed by Amajina & Sons darling Dederu Deru has been richly funded in equipment and soldiers, including hired Brass Blades. Its stated mission: to prospect the Burning Wall. Meanwhile, a flock of tribal refugees, miqo'te from a distant land, have encamped themselves in the environs. Many believe these former slaves are the Blades' true goal... including the tribals themselves. A clash is perhaps inevitable.

b) In Blatant Disregard of Safety Protocols (Monday, April 3rd, 2017, 8 pm CST)
The ever-gathering whorls of aetherial dissonance in Ul'dah have led experts to speculate that illegal experiments involving copious amounts of aether are being conducted, with these side-effects being the wash-off, or excess build-up being discharged into the air. Opinions on how to deal with this are varied, but as things get worse, one notion gains popularity: to find the output points of this 'venting', and block them.

c) Painting the Town Gold and Red (Friday, April 7th, 2017, 9 pm CST)
As the clock winds down, the true battle begins. Some think it is Adventurers, spurring an all-out attack on Moiraine Astervane - AKA Goldentail - and her holdings. Others think it is simply the natural result of the build-up of two forces. Philosophers and strategists would be free to argue about it in tea houses later, once the dust was settled; for now, they cower or flee town entirely, as the Order of the Aster and the Golden Prints Sept go to war.
"So who are you taking for, the violent horde of thugs, or the violent legion of thugs?" "Costa sounds nice, this time of year." "So does Othard."

d) Knock, Knock (Sunday, April 9th, 2017, 3 pm CST)
While mayhem rages above the streets, below another path shall be tested. A fortified cermet door, in the depths of what were once old Sil'dih's Aqueducts. Stopping whatever Goldentail plans may mean defeating this nigh-insurmountable obstacle. Risk lies even in success, however, for several of the dread lieutenants of the Falling Stars Sept - the Fallen - are said to be lurking in the environs. Their missing Nunh is believed to be somewhere behind that door, and they will stop at nothing to reach him.

Rumors and Story Aspects
- Violent outbreaks are getting worse in Ul'dah. Some blame the unseasonable heat, others the coming war, while still others are all-too aware of /Something Wicked/ in the air, aetherial disturbances like pulses of rage and aggression.
- The various and disparate street gangs comprised of Ul'dah's most desperate and disaffected are said to be finding leadership under a bizarre and violent new banner, like a criminal mirror of the Adventurers' Guild. They are said to number in the hundreds, now.
- Reclusive monetarist Moiraine Astervane, AKA Goldentail, has been uncharacteristically active of late, apparently recruiting en masse for her private army, the Brass Blades of the Aster. There has been no visible sanction from the Syndicate or any other source.
