Part Two: Growing Up15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
"My childhood in general? While I had plenty of time to be a kid, I had my share of hardship. We all do, though. Don't we? I try to think about the future, more than my past, for good reasons."
16. What is your earliest memory?
Jumping on top of my uncle's stomach.
17. How much schooling have you had?
"Schooling? The same as everyone else I suppose. Book smarts, my mother taught me.. But out in the real world, I had to learn from my Uncle, and what he couldn't teach me I was left to find out on my own."
18. Did you enjoy school?
"The education my mother gave me was one of the few times that she had time to spend with just me, I enjoyed it. To this day it remains a special memory."
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
"My Uncle taught me how to fight, and after he passed I learned a lot either on my own or from the Archer's guild in Gridania. I try to learn something from everyone I meet."
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
"My Uncle was my role model. He was a bard, and I was named after him. It seemed like no matter what happened he was always smiling. He put others before himself."
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
"I got along with my younger sister; my brother was becoming a soldier. He was seven years older than myself… too busy to fight with, and too busy to grow close to. I still looked up to him, though, for his ambition and courage. We were family, and loved each other as family, but I suppose I wish I could have had more time to actually spend together, all of us, as a family. My father was rarely ever around, and raising two kids by yourself isn't the easiest thing for a mother. She is lucky my Uncle was around as often as he was.â€
22. As child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"A Bard, like my Uncle."
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
"I've always loved chasing storms, and running through the outdoors. I find that one of the most exciting experiences is to find those ‘hidden gems’ nested far from the common paths. Like those beautiful waterfalls or groves you hear about in tales."
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
"I cried a lot when I was a kid. I guess I was pretty needy. My family had its share of trials, that's for sure, but I didn't like that my father was rarely around, and my mother had most of the house hold weight on her shoulders. I felt very much so a burden. I still wonder why my Uncle always said I reminded him of himself when he was younger."
Â
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
"Popular? Well, there weren't a lot of people around where I grew up. The nearest town was a day away."
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
"My first kiss? I was seventeen; a trader was passing through nearby and had a daughter. They ended up staying for a few days. Never thought my first kiss would be with a Miqo'te. That sure is a story to tell." He laughed lightly, a vague blush washed across his expression.
27. Are you virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
"Yes, I am a virgin."
28. Describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
A long pause filled the air, his frown gradually becoming apparent. “That is a rather personal question, don’t you think?â€
