You could try showing them http://arrstatus.com/ where it shows when early access is and say that part of pre-ordering FFXIV: ARR is gaining early access.
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/ Shows the bonuses to pre-ordering where it clearly states "Early Access To Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn." And it sais "from participating retailer" so if they are part of the participating retailers (you didn't mention who you bought it from I don't think), they have to give it to you.
