There was in 1.0. The ferry between Thanalan and La Noscea was an actual ferry that you had to wait for and then ride. Â There were no pirates or sea horrors and the ride was short but it was a very cute little boat.Â
I was heart broken when I realized they'd removed it.
I remember the first time I went to La Noscea riding that damn thing. Or rather I remember the first time running up to the dock and watching it drift away. I sat there on my Chocobo for a good five minutes wondering what I did to deserve such fortune.
I JUST WANTED TO GET A NEW FISHING ROD WITHOUT WADING THROUGH THE RETAINERS IN THE MARKET DAMMIT.
Then there was the time I accidentally used the last of my anima to teleport to camp Longroot and spent the next 40 minutes using /walk to get past all the "true sound" level 70 mobs (a mixture of trents and raptors iirc.)
