Still would love some critique but I've done a lil more work at least in some regards...
More Weather conditions for actions to take, some changes on the breeding concept, and some ideas about how the tribe would represent itself.
Snow - (IC)"The falling white is the wind's blessing and purity.. She embraces forgiveness and love as the cold cleanses our past." (OOC) Had a friend talk to me about this, was original going to be isolation, perhaps a way to hibernate or to meditate about one's self for enlightenment(considering Coerthas/Ishgard is the only area is truly snows in).. I ended up changing that out for her idea, which was as a sign of purity. Snow is perfect and pure until it touches the ground and snow itself can be seen as beautiful, so this weather would be treated as a form of cleansing and embrace of love. For anyone who has "sinned" in their tribe in some manner to feel pure once again or feel remove any stains on their honor/tribe would walk through the cold snows and embrace it's icy touch. The stinging of the cold ice/snow would be like applying rubbing alcohol to a dirty wound. As for the embrace of love, just the fact it's all so pure would make it a good place to go for the tribe to bring family or people they value greatly and treasure. Friend and I thought it'd be funny if someone told their character "hey come look outside!" and then they see it's snowing, only to blush and reply "I-... Didn't know you felt this way.."Â lol. In any case, it's more of a wishing of purity and you could definitely see the tribe getting mad at Ishgardians for killing anything considering how often it snows and what it represents to them(like cold blooded murder in a church sanctuary.. would be brutal).
Blizzard - (IC)"She cleanses the land for us... Let her be". (OOC) Basically the above but more int he sense of it's harder blowing winds + all that purity cleansing the land itself. Essentially their idea of the wind cleaning the land and purifying it all of any bloodshed or misdeeds done while in the land. To apply metaphors to it, putting everything beneath the snow and blowing it all away. This would mean that if there's snow in the Starlight Festivals, it would imply that year around, some lands are cleansed of their past sins and misdeeds(All that crime and illegal stuff in Ul'dah just wiped away huh :p?) Making the land sacred once more to tread upon and refreshing the cycle. Ideally a tribe member would avert being in an area that;s being "cleansed" as a form of respect to the wind's will cleaning up(don't bug the maid while she's cleaning cuz it's disrespectful? Coupled with the fact that wind + ice would sting pretty bad regardless and to enter in a state where it's being cleansed while you're "dirty" so to speak, would be like walking into a bath tub that's still being scrubbed clean just as you're about to bathe. The logic for that metaphor would imply you would rather clean it first than to mix the clean and dirty, wasting time and getting yourself a mess again and making a mess of the tub(land if we're using the metaphor to this idea here)
As for breeding, I was already debating how to go about it but I had someone gladly remind me why I wanted to fix it just a bit. I think it'd make more sense for them to keep breeding to Xaela alone, tribes acceptable(within reason of course depending on the tribe's culture). The idea behind this is while they embrace the wind covering all of the land and everything/everyone strengthened by it(cept, their tribe more because they worship it), they sitll would like to reproduce stronger Xaela to strengthen the clan itself. So breeding with other races seemed iffy to me at first, now I'm just out right calling it off because it doesn't really fit as a concept(and it makes things complicated with hybrids too). They're still a bit of a cocky tribe too, wouldn't make sense for them to step low enough to just pick up random strangers and hope they get a strong Xaela out of it. However using the snow concepts above, they could live lives with marriage and etc, and bring people they cherish to areas of snow as a form of trust and love to them rather than just the concept of making the tribe strong through selective breeding. Meaning if a Xaela loved a Raen/miqo'te/whatever as to marry or build a life with, they would commonly bring them to the snow to purify their past to begin anew with them. Would be common for them to propose there too since they'd want their new beginning to start completely fresh and free of any murder, theft, dishonor, etc.
Again, I'd still like any critique, I've so far been having fun writing this concept and practicing it for the short time I was able to be in game as one. I'm debating changing "Gales" to just be a more improved idea of what the Winds are, just making them even more confident and overzealous.... I figured, why would a tribe that worships the wind, be in doubt of it being so strong? If anything, that should be something they embrace to where it actually gets them killed, making them a lil too over confident getting them into trouble doing things because of how much belief they put into the strong gales.
I've also figured, maybe their hair/limbal rings can represent their birth. The character I created I made look a bit firey so I'm debating on writing his birth to be based on an off hand watching of a volcano eruption (the one in the Ruby Sea?) that filled the sky with embers and smoke, and some tribe members seeing this as some special display by the wind, causing them to make my character and grow up with a firey look to him. That or something to do with a meteor shower is my plan B... I'm still contemplating the birth concept for him but I'd love to have their hair dyed or limbal rings match according to the weather in which they were born. So you'd see some Au Ra with pink/purple dye in their hair meaning they were born of the Gloom weather, someone with electric blue or even mixed limbal ring(diff colored separated eyes) to represent umbral static or umbral winds. Would be a good identifier without having to give up glamour and you can just put some effort into the idea, not a ton. So just adding minor highlights or changing limbal ring if you wanted if not clothing.... Again, I'm still debating on how much of this I want to be just of the tribe or if I'd leave that to character preference to how tribal/religious they are about it. My char for example then would be pretty religious about it given his look.
Any other thoughts, comments, suggestions I really do welcome, as I'd love to make the idea more open and welcoming as a whole. Again I've had a lot of fun writing it from the idea of how they are born, how they get stronger, daily life, aesthetics with reason, but I know some of it can be too much or overdone in my excitement that I would be open to toning down or changing up to make more sense.
