Is there a difference between say, "casual" relation versus actual "love"? Like, you can boink as many outside races as you wish, but you are settling down with someone of your own race!

Just wanted to pop in real quick and confirm that Cross-Race and Cross-Clan mating and children are canon lore. Though Fernehalwes said that these are rare and often face heavy amounts of social ostracism for mixing, because the Races all really hate each other. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, the Treasure Hunter couple from Wanderer's Palace HM were both thrown from their homes because they were in a mixed-race relationship (hyur and miqo'te).

I want to throw in "savage(s)" for Keepers of the Moon. One of the Elezen characters during the archery class quest-line uses it often when referring to them.

Aside from the official sources, it's probably best to get creative. That's far more interesting, in my belief. Kimah has a thing for callingÂ Miqo'te "sloppycat" or saying someone is one needle short of a Cactuar, to borrow off my southern upbringing.

M'sato calls non-Miqo'te "Side-ears" when they talk about things he believes are nonsense. His ears are on the top of his head, not just beside the temples, and he finds the idea of non-mobile ears to be a horrifying way to live.

He has admitted that the side-ears are occasionally cute on the right person.

Not that it's totally unrelated but I suspect, also, that there might be just as much-if-not-more slurs referencing one's allegiance or place of origin than just their race. Such as Lominsans not like Ul'Dahns etc.

Miqo'te: Strays, Tribals, culturally inclined whores

Roegadyn: Searats, brownosers, shemen, fishbacks

Elezen: Pencilnecks, hippies, treehuggers

Highlanders: Inbred roes, bootshiners, freeloadin' refugees

Lalafell: Midgets, gnomes, gaolbait

And probably for the Au Ra: Mutants, voidspawn, frostbacks, hordesmen, beastmen

Funny...kinda how Kale sees it. A lot of Highlander men/PCs (in his eyes) debase themselves by getting with, say, Miqo'te chicks in actual relationships. But he knows that the only person for a true Highlander man is another Highlander woman (well, or man, really). But other races for funsies, go aheeaaad.
