2.Where and when were you born?
When 1557. Where, he does not know.

A lallafel stepbrother named Montari. They're pretty much inseparable at times unless B'jaern is out working for the White Wolves or God's Quiver.

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
Currently lives in a farmstead in Southern Shroud Gridania. He lives there with his family: Foster mother Mimori: Stepbrother Montari: Uncle Magni: Aunt Mindi: Grandmother Moromi.

It's a fairly large farm. Has a large 4 acre field of various vegetables. A stable for their 2 chocobos. A ruined, charred Windmill and a babbling brook near the edge of the forest.

6.What is your occupation?
B'jaern is currently an errand boy / courier for many other craftsman in the Gridanian marketplace. He sometimes renews his ties with the White Wolves while trying to dedicate himself to the initiation into God's Quiver under Bowlord Lewin. He is also a accomplished Tracker and sometimes takes requests.

B'jaern exhibits some lallafel mannerisms which is strange to other miqo'te. He can be extremely naive of the outside world and you might say he's kind of sheltered this way. On full moons he tends to exude the smell of lilac and he does not know why. On hunter's moons he tries to avoid people altogether due to extreme headaches and terrible visions.

(This post was last modified: 08-06-2013, 01:05 AM by T'salmaveth.)
So, I have something already written up for T'sal, but this is always a good exercise to cement things. So... I'll take a swipe at it. If anything, I can get some feedback on him since this is my first Final Fantasy RP and I might have missed something in my lore research. ^^' (I'm answering this as the creator, not the character... He'd never give anyone this much information. Ever.)

Part 1: The Basics
Show Content
Spoiler
1. What is your full name?
T'salmaveth Sadi'a, his parents compromised on his name, so he has both traditions represented.
2. Where and when were you born?
Limsa Lominsa, 13th Sun of the Sixth Astral Moon 1555
3. Who are/were your parents?
T’ehlat Tia(Father, a Seeker of the Sun) and Sadi Ageha(Mother, Keeper of the Moon). He was adopted by a Hellsguard Roegadyn named Rugged Path, who had been the leader of the small free company his mother had been part of after her death.
4. Do you have any siblings?
No.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom?
He lives alone in Limsa Lominsa while doing his research with the Arcanist Guild.
6. What is your occupation?
Studying to be an Arcanist with ulterior motives...
7. Write a full physical description of yourself.
On the tall side for a Miqo'te, T'sal has his father's warm creamy skin and his mother's black hair with deep red highlights when the light hits it. His ears and tail are solid black. He has bright, captivating silver eyes.
8. To which social class do you belong?
He is secure financially thanks to inheriting the funds left by Rugged Path and the small company that raised him as his adopted family. He was highly tutored growing up, so is well read and cultured about the other countries.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Not that he's discovered so far... though he could claim to be allergic to female miqo'te if annoyed enough.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Ambidextrous. Favors his right hand.
11. What does your voice sound like?
Deep and 'purring/furred'... (if he had a VO it would be Benedict Cumberbatch.)
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Hm. (And that's as expressive as he gets unless necessary...)
13. What do you have in your pockets?
Some sweets, gil, sealed ink-wells and quills.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
He tends to stare off at nothing, eyes unfocused and ears twitching as if listening to something no one else can hear. He also tends to get people's names wrong... regularly and without care. Him getting your name right a majority of the time means he actually considers it worthwhile to remember.

Part 2: Growing Up
Show Content
Spoiler
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
A series of losses and rich in learning. Losing one parent after the other didn't mean he wasn't brought up well and with care.
16. What is your earliest memory?
Thunderstorms rolling off the ocean.
17. How much schooling have you had?
Heavily schooled. His adopted father was insistent that he be tutored and bought him books more than toys growing up.
18. Did you enjoy school?
He did well in private tutoring but avoided any kind of group lessons whenever possible. He devoured books and had a very sharp mind.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
His adopted father had him running errands and doing odd jobs around the docks when he wasn't being tutored, hoping to keep the boy engaged and occupied.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Rugged Path, his adopted father and the other two members of his mother's former company that collectively helped to raise him, a female Midlander and a female Duskwight.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
It was hard to say if T'sal ever did or did not 'get along' with anyone, but he was attached to the three members of his adopted 'family'.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
He did not have any firm goals that he talked about, though his aptitude for books and keen observation skills had his adopted father pushing him towards the Arcanist Guild to work as a customs agent in the docks.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Reading. Sitting at his window and watching the storms roll across the ocean.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
T'sal was very quiet and detached as a child. He was very hard to get a rise out of, though Rugged Path had a knack for it.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
No. T'sal was distant from almost everyone except his adopted family. He was well known from his work on the docks and liked for his willingness to take on jobs and do them, though most also admitted his detached and distant nature was off-putting and could be taken as condescending or dismissive.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
T'sal dislikes being touched in general and especially by those he doesn't consider close. As such, he hasn't had a first kiss.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Yes. And unlikely to change any time soon, given his personality and temperament.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
This is hard to do a short answer for. Basically T'sal was born with a very strong connection to the Aetherflow. He was exposed to an extremely dangerous concentration of Aether when he was 17 that nearly killed him. He was catatonic or slipping in and out of extreme nightmares for several months, then spent almost a year after that secluded in his rooms before emerging and starting to seriously study the Arcanist skills and dig for information on legends and stories of summoning magic.

Part 3: Past Influences
Show Content
Spoiler
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
His watching Bahamut burst from Dalamud and kill his adopted family before he could reach the battlefield.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Rugged Path, his adopted father. His mother's bias still colors his view of things, including his dislike of female miqo'te(she did not trust them and he picked up on that), even though she died when he was only 5.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
He doesn't feel he has achieved anything yet...
32. What is your greatest regret?
That he did not make it to the battlefield in time, though he is aware it is a stupid regret, as he would not have survived. He also regrets that he and Rugged Path fought before they parted for the last time where he said some very vicious and hurtful things.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
That would mean he acknowledges things as 'good' or 'evil'.... he is aware that others do so, and usually goes with whatever the law dictates. So... no answer.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
No.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Watching Bahamut emerge from Dalamud.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
He was subjected to getting dressed up a few times by the two female members of his adopted family as a child. He doesn't talk about it.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
The only thing he would change would be to not fight with Rugged Path the day he left to join the Battle of Carteneau.
38. What is your best memory?
He doesn't really have one. Or wouldn't really understand the question. Possibly a nostalgic one he might bring up would be curling up and falling asleep on Rugged Path's chest as a child.
39. What is your worst memory?
Bahamut's destruction of the armies, including his adopted family, at the Battle of Carteneau.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
Show Content
Spoiler
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Realist? He accepts situations as they come, so he may seem more pessimistic than he thinks he is to some.
41. What is your greatest fear?
Dying before he achieves his goals.
42. What are your religious views?
He is completely indifferent to it. He won't dismiss the fact that the Twelve exist, as that has been proven. He just doesn't care that they do. They were ineffective once and he doesn't see a need to concern himself with them. He doesn't particularly care if others do or don't.
43. What are your political views?
He doesn't care. Provided that the politicians keep out of his way, they can do whatever it is they do to keep themselves busy. Let the people who care about it deal with it, basically.
44. What are your views on sex?
Necessary for a species to survive, obviously. Outside of that... not something he's concerned about.
45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Easily. If it is necessary for his goals, not a problem. Creatures live and die. Being able to talk doesn't really change that.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
That 'evil' thing again.... the only thing that might fit here would be 'being a Garlean'. That's about as bad as it gets, as far as T'sal is concerned. There's a pretty easy solution to it, too... (See question 45...)
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Not his area of interest. He's sure other people believe in it, which is just fine for them.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Achieving his goal.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings?
......he rarely exposes that much about himself, though he doesn't actively lie. He just doesn't say much. And he doesn't really admit to much in the area of feelings.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Yes. Garleans.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
He dislikes being touched and will not be intimate with anyone. And being friendly towards a Garlean is even less likely.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
No one right now. The few people he actually felt any kind of connection to are dead.

Part 5: Relationships With Others
Show Content
Spoiler
53. In general, how do you treat others?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
He's indifferent to most, unaffected and detached. He will appear polite and helpful if necessary but rarely cares enough to remember names. If he actually does ever care at all, he would start by getting their names right and actually considering what they say.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
He doesn't have anyone living that is important to him at the moment. Previously, Rugged Path.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
No one alive. Again, Rugged Path was the central person he was connected to growing up.
56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
He is not currently associated with anyone enough to considering them 'friends'. He has spent most of his time studying and looking for lost histories.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
No.
58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
No.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
.........no. Not really his area.
60. How close are you to your family?
He was very close to them in his own way. They were his only close emotional connection.
61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
No. No. He's not interested. -_-
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
....currently he feels he can only really rely on himself. Before, he relied upon his adopted family, mostly Rugged Path. In the past 5 years, he hasn't reached out to anyone. He is starting to learn to work with Carbuncle.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
No. At least, not anymore. The only people he did trust are dead.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
No one that he is aware of.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Garleans. ALL of them. Why? They're breathing still...
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
He won't seek out an argument but he won't avoid it, either. If it appears in front of him, he'll deal with it.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
He has, up to now, avoided most social situations.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?

Studying. Maybe sketching.
78. What makes you laugh?
....oh, right. Aside from his own mental musings, he will laugh if it appears that is what is socially expected where he is.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
The stupidity of those around him. Nosy people and especially overly curious female miqo'te with opinions on what/where he should be.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
If? That's a usual situation and he pours over the books he collects or sits and stares out the window at the night sky to where Dalamud used to hang.
81. How do you deal with stress?
Finds the source and gets rid of it. If he can't do that, he can work himself up to the point where he either has to smoke or go running.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
He is usually very calculating, but he will act on the fly if he feels it is necessary. He prefers a plan.
83. What are your pet peeves?
Nosy people. Female miqo'te, especially those with expectations just because of his gender or wanting him to join a clan. Garleans that are still breathing.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Waking up and drinking tea or wine, depending what is easiest to get to start the day. He will then continue where he left off studying. If he remembers to eat, he will, otherwise he doesn't bother with it. Late morning he will go observe Arcanist training or take part. After that, he will run whatever errands he has to, such as picking up food or looking for more old books and grimoires. Late afternoon finds him back in his quarters studying unless some particularly interesting lessons are going on in the Arcanist Guild. He may or may not remember to eat an evening meal, though he can be dragged into it if having to deal with anyone to get information or request a particular book from a merchant. Once he retires to his rooms he will study, read or sketch depending on what he needs to do. Sleeping might happen, but it is never expected or scheduled. He will get coldly annoyed or grumpy if his routine is disrupted unless it is a very good reason.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
His keen mind, observational skills and extremely calm disposition.
86. What is your greatest weakness?
His inability to connect to others, he often doesn't understand their emotions and reasons for doing things that are not logical.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
He's not really concerned with changing himself. While he wants more power, he feels that is something he can obtain with work.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
He is personally very organized but his study looks incredibly cluttered to an outside eye. He can find whatever he needs but it looks a mess.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good: Observation, reading, logic. Bad: Emotions, blacksmithing, conversation
91. Do you like yourself?
Yes, he's perfectly fine with who he is.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?
He was born into it, as both his parents and his adopted family were adventurers. He doesn't discuss his long-term goal as an adventurer but he scoffs at the idea that he has any kind of altruistic 'heroic' reasons. What he is doing is, he says, for the best of Eorzea, but he will deny being a hero or good person personally.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
The destruction of the Garleans.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
It will depend on if his research leads him to the lost powers he is seeking or not.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
After the last Garlean stops breathing. Then he doesn't care.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Gather all of his notes and research so that someone else can use it to continue his work. After that.... if possible, find some Garleans to take with him. If that is not possible, sit at his window and sketch.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Ideally, the destruction of the Garleans.... otherwise, his research.
98. What three words best describe your personality?
Calm, detached, focused.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Detached, intriguing, confusing.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?
Learn how to actually connect and interact with people...

Ah, that was long. Hopefully it isn't horrible. >_>

Part 1: The Basics
1. What is your full name?
My name is Astrid Thalia Arlynn.

2. Where and when were you born?

20 years ago, I was born in the ever-beautiful Gridania on the 17th day of the Second Astral Moon.

3. Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

Hoyt & Erica Arlynn. My father is an incredibly strong and somewhat strict man who lets nothing get in his way, but is not blinded by his brawn due to a kind heart. Mother is incredibly loving, gives the best advice, and knows how to balance work and play very well.

4. Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?

Two, in fact. A brother and a sister. Both are older than I.

My sister, Ingrid, is quite a bit different from me. She is unbelievably kind and forgiving to the point of naivete, studying bores her, and she works as a wandering artist. Ingrid was also born with a natural talent for Thaumaturgy.

My brother, Lamont, is a part of the Immortal Flames Grand Company. Growing up, he often broke up the fights between Ingrid and I. He is extremely mellow in nature. So much so that I almost find it vexing... Lamont is very proficient with a lance.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.

I currently live in Gridania, though I have a room at the Gladiator's Guild in Ul'dah. I travel between both city-states constantly.

6. What is your occupation?
I juggle a couple of different jobs. I work part-time as a researcher for the Alchemist's Guild. I also engage in botany, but at my leisure. My true occupation is that of a field escort. I am assigned to people who need protection as they traverse through dangerous areas. My typical clients are weak adventurers, gatherers, researchers and artifact hunters incapable of defending themselves, merchants, and mages.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I am quite tall for a Midlander, with an average build. My hair is a brilliant white and cut short. It is a physical characteristic that runs in the family and is exclusive to the spellcasters. We know not why it happens, it just does. My eyes are crystal blue like my mother's.

Typically, I prefer to dress in whatever is practical and efficient for the situation I am encountering. If I must protect someone, I will wear plate. If I am harvesting or gardening, I wear simple gathering clothes. In all other scenarios, I prefer robes.

8. To which social class do you belong?

"Upper-middle classed" is what I believe it would be referred to. I have never had to struggle for money, but it is not exactly just handed to me, either.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

None whatsoever.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I am right-handed when it comes to writing, but ambidextrous in the use of any tool or weapon.

11. What does your voice sound like?

My voice? An odd question. If you must know, I have been told that my voice sounds deep, meticulous, and proud.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
It seems to annoy some people that I occasionally open statements with a single adjective or noun. I see it as my way of getting straight to the point in the event that I fail to be understood. I also sometimes give people one-word answers when elaboration is expected.

((Ex: She will sometimes say "query", then ask her question. That or if you state a contradiction, she will simply say "contradictory" and offer no further explanation. You'll see some examples in this interview.))

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Irrelevant.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I do not know if I would call it a 'strange mannerism'... However, I can drink a hot cup of tea in any sort of weather. It may double as an annoying habit as I drink copious amounts of it daily and I am quite adamant about the manner in which it is prepared and served.

Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Satisfactory.

16. What is your earliest memory?
My brother running through Ul'dah with me bouncing about on his shoulders. I was quite small. Everything seemed even more gigantic back then...

17. How much schooling have you had?
An extensive amount.

18. Did you enjoy school?

I adored school. I love it so much that I have considered picking up teaching or possibly attending an advanced institution of some sort.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
I was born with an affinity for magic like my sister, but I am not a Thaumaturge. I was gifted with the abilities of a Conjurer. It seems that water is my favored element, as I can easily bend it to my will. As for my skills as a swordswoman, my father taught me all that I needed to know.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
My parents were my role models without a doubt, and still are to some degree.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Well enough. I did not cause my parents too many problems. My siblings and I were very close. Ingrid and I could bond over magic training and our love of nature. Lamont and I could bond over our thrill for battle and passion for knowledge.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A lot of things, actually. For a while, I was convinced that I would either be a scholar or a merchant whose major product was signature-crafted teas. Throughout my teens, I aimed to become a herbalist for a time.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Reading, sparring with Lamont and my father, training and experimenting with my magic, swimming, exploring, gardening, cooking, and taking naps in the forest underneath one of the huge trees. In fact, I still do most of these things!

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was very curious. Too curious, perhaps. Ingrid and I often got caught doing many things or sneaking into places we should not have. I have never been shy, yet many would probably have called me aloof.

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?

I would not call myself popular... But I was rather well-liked. I am a Conjurer -- it is very hard to possess Conjury and be ignored.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?

Confidential.

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
...Inappropriate.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I was merely born being able to do what it is that I do. It is as simple as that.

Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
This is a rather difficult question for me. I have plenty of memories of significant events, but I do not think that I could call any of them the most important. Well, except for that day...

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
My family. If I am to pick only a single person, then it would be my brother. Lamont has influenced me in a large variety of ways, for the largest variety of reasons.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Convincing my father to teach me how to use a sword, believe it or not. At first he was heavily against it...

32. What is your greatest regret?

A lack of hesitation. A lack of control. A lack of self.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

...Blindness.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

Absolutely not.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When I was unable to recognize anyone. What happened? I was not myself...

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

Secret.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

The events of that awful day...

38. What is your best memory?

Being accepted into the Gladiator's Guild. I did not think I would be good enough to get in, but they were impressed with my skills despite my background as a spellcaster.

39. What is your worst memory?

Please... I don't want to remember.

Part 4: Beliefs & Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Pessimistic, and very much so.

41. What is your greatest fear?

F... Frogs. What? They are sticky and slimy and just... Ugh! Revolting! I do not want them to touch me. Keep them away from me!

42. What are your religious views?
My favored deities are Thaliak, who I was partially named after, and Nyemia. I look to Thaliak for guidance and understanding. From Nymeia, I seek protection and peace of mind.

43. What are your political views?

A good nation should exist for the people who thrive within and sustain it. The glorified, gilded circle-jerk that is the society of the wealthy elite and all of their sycophantic behavior is something I could rather live without.

44. What are your views on sex?

I would prefer to only engage in the act for reasons that pertain to love... But I know that is rarely the case these days, especially in places like Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa.

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?

Yes, I am able. Killing is acceptable for means of survival and protection, nothing more. Some people like to warp the definitions of those terms to fit their own twisted perceptions. I am not one of them.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
To steal the life of an innocent or kill for pleasure's sake.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
I do not believe in soul mates. That is a strange concept to me. True love, however, is another matter entirely.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?

Passion, bravery, and wit. You must be witty enough to make the right choices, brave enough to try, and passionate enough to want to succeed.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

I am pretty honest about what I am thinking. My blunt nature turns some off, but I am not too bothered by it. This is simply who I am.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

I am unsure of where to begin with that one. My greatest prejudice is against those who are, for the lack of terminology that is more refined, stupid. At least by my standards.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?

I will never harm a child. Ever. I would die before I ever did such a thing... Never again...

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My family, for sure. Mother, Father, Lamont, Ingrid... If there was no other way, I would forfeit my life for any of them in a heartbeat.

Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I would say that I generally treat strangers politely until they do something to show that they deserve otherwise. I do not tend to be talkative. Only with people I know very well, which currently only consists of my family. I do not even engage in conversation with fellow guild members too often.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

There is no single person I deem more important than everyone else right now. My dedication is to my family at this point in time.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

My father without a doubt. He worked very hard to get us to where we are today, loves us dearly, has gone out of his way to protect us, and had to deal with all of the hardships my siblings and I gave him in our childhood.

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
Any friends I had were erased from my life on that day... Friends are a hindrance. I do not seek such relationships.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
I do not.

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
I have not and I do not expect to be any time soon. It is a distraction.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Unknown.

60. How close are you to your family?
Inseparable.

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
I have not. I currently do not desire such, but with time and experience, that may change.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?

My brother, Lamont. If he is unavailable, then perhaps a guild mentor.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?

Without question, I know that Lamont can protect me better than anyone. My father also qualifies for this, but Lamont is around a lot more often.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?

My family.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?

Myself.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
This depends on my level of agitation. I would say half and half.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

No. I prefer to observe.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?

If it is an academic setting, I rather enjoy myself. Discussing theories with like-minded individuals is exhilarating. If it is an extremely informal social setting... I am reserved.

69. Do you care what others think of you?

Not in the slightest.
Show Content
Part 6: Likes & Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
As I said when asked about my childhood... Most of my favorite activities have not changed. I love to read, train, experiment, swim, explore, cook, and take naps in relaxing places. I keep a small garden as well.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
A small key chain that I typically clip onto my belt or my bag strap. Someone precious gave it to me a long time ago... And I never want to forget them.

72. What is your favorite color?
I find blues to be quite fetching. A noble color. I am also rather partial to reds, purples, and silver. By contrast, I was never too fond of yellow or orange on anything other than flora. Yellow robes or orange leather? Dreadful.

73. What is your favorite food?
Without fail, if you need me to come running to the dinner table, put out freshly prepared fish. I love seafood. I cannot get enough of it. I will also eat just about any fruit.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Most things. The only kinds of books that I am not very partial to are biographies. An account of another person's life is not exciting to me at all. Autobiographies, on the other hand, are acceptable.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?

A nice book. I am also fond of music.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
Smoking? Vile. Drugs? Uncouth. I do drink, however. Unwinding at the end of a long day or week with a delicious brandy or some sort of sinful cocktail is a treat, I find.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Assuming I have no work to do and the weather is agreeable, I may take a walk. Curling up with a great book and a cup of tea is my idea of a good night as well.

78. What makes you laugh?
Watching people make fools of themselves. I am also partial to wordplay, admittedly.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Stupidity. Also, public displays of lewdness. Sordid.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Read, of course. Or train.

81. How do you deal with stress?

I try to find something to distract myself with. Sometimes writing in my journal helps. If all else fails, I need to find water. I am heavily attuned to the element. Even if I cannot swim in it, simply touching it or being near a large amount of it can calm me down.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I usually plan ahead. Battle is a tiny bit different, however. While I do have strategies, there are occasions where over-thinking is actually detrimental.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Too many to list. I suppose one of the most prominent would be wastefulness. If people throw out good food, destroy nature or kill wildlife for little to no reason, or are quick to trash a lot of hard work? That drives me up a wall.
Show Content
Part 7: Self Images & Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
What a boring inquiry... I get up, wash and dress myself, and carry out whatever tasks I was given the day previous. Once those are completed, I wind down with a book or some other activity I find pleasant. Sometimes this changes if I am exploring, running a long errand, visiting family, or carrying out a lengthy assignment. It does not bother me if my routine is disrupted because I barely have one.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
My tenacity. I am strong-willed and rarely give up. If there is something I absolutely must do, I will keep trying and trying until I succeed. Otherwise, I must either physically be stopped or my energy must give out before I call it quits.

86. What is your greatest weakness?

A doubt in my abilities to protect others. A fear that I will make a grave mistake.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would want to be stronger... Not only physically, but in every other way possible.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Organized... for the most part.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
I am good at cooking, fighting, and healing. I am bad at not being judgmental, making small talk, and dealing with children.

91. Do you like yourself?
I do not...

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
I am not really an adventurer. However, my reasons for working as an escort have to do with terrible events that have occurred in my past. I see my current work as a sort of repentance.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
That is an excellent question. I have not thought about it. I suppose I would like to gain a high rank of some sort in a guild or company. Or perhaps I will start my own business someday? Become a master of conjury? Become a master swordswoman? I am unsure.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In the same position, but stronger and wiser.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?

Peacefully. As strange as it may sound, I would prefer to drown.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Swim, eat, and spend time with my family.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?

I am fine with being forgotten after I die. I am not concerned with being remembered. I simply want to contribute to the world in the most positive way that I can for a majority of my life, no matter how small in nature what I do is.

98. What three words best describe your personality?

Laid-back, reserved, thoughtful.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?

Distant, critical, tenacious.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
I would tell my character to stop being such a hardass and lighten up. She takes things too seriously and needs to learn how to have fun in more ways than just what she considers to be fun. I'd also tell her to stop acting like she hates companionship, because she's totes lonely and needs (and actually wants!) some damned friends. Finally, I'd warn her that her snobbish attitude was going to get her put in her place someday.

This one is good too for helping you make choices on how exactly you're going to RP your character.

Here is the first 3 parts of the questionnaire, answered in character.

Show Content
Part 1: The Basics1.What is your full name?
“My name?  Tomas…” He pauses with an unclear look on his face, before clearing his throat. “…Colyer... Tomas Colyer” He finishes with a fake smile. “What? Full name…”  Tomas lets out a soft sigh as he slinks back in his chair “Tomas Alcott Colyer” He answers with a twinge of embarrassment.

2.Where and when were you born?
“I was born in Limsa Lominsa, on the sixteenth sun of the Third Umbral Moon, in 1551 of the last era. “

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
“My parents?  Well my father was Edmwnd Colyer.  He was a carpenter in Limsa Loninsa., he and my mother had their own small furniture store. It was mainly smaller things, all made in house of course. He was a bit stern, but never unreasonably so.  He sadly passed away about eleven cycles ago.My mother, Teressa, well she ran the actual store, handling all the customers since my father was in the back. She is a calm and understandable women, kind of has to be considering her current situation.”

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
“Yes, I had an older brother,Pyrce. He was the most rambunctious between us two. And he did cause a bit of a stir when he decided to become a deckhand on one of the ships, instead of apprenticing with my father. He eventually got bored of that and trained to be a gladiator and bounced around until he met Lilwen who he married.  She was a calming force on him, and I mean force. She was not as relaxed as my mother, and well he needed that push.”  Tomas pauses as he waits for the elderly woman asking the questions to finish writing. “No, my brother died early in the fighting with the Empire, and Lilwen she and my niece Caitlyn is with my mother in Limsa Lomina. Caitlyn is uh…” He quietly clears his throat. “… eight now. There are moments where she makes me wish that I had a child of my own and then usually quickly reminds me of why I am glad I don’t. ”

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
“I live in Gridania now, moved here about seven cycles ago. Currently live alone.”

6.What is your occupation?
“I am a carpenter. Yes, I ended up apprenticing with my father. Eh, it was not what dream of but I enjoy it. The store? We just could not afford to keep it going, so after going through the process with that I got a job with the Carpentry Guild here. Outside of that, I recently started training with the local Lancer guild.“

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Tomas looks down, sizing up his body.”I guess I would say I am a little bit above average height; I haven’t measured myself since I was a little kid. I am in good shape, not as big as some of these adventures, but my work keeps me at a decent level.  I keep my hair short, out of my eyes and away from the ears, and that is about it.” Tomas unconsciously pats the back of his head. “As long as I have hair that is all I really care… The only other important feature would be this scar.” He said as he traced the scar that ran diagonally down his left cheek.

8.To which social class do you belong?
“I don’t… I mean my social life is pretty light at the moment, so I really don’t know how the answer that.”

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
“No allergies and not sick right now… though I do generally catch something fierce at least once every winter. Other than that I just can’t seem to be able to run longer than a few malms without needed to stop or at least slowing to a walk. “

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Tomas holds up his right hand. “Right handed”

11. What does your voice sound like?
“Uh” He stops, with a dumbfounded expression on his face, as he attempts to think of an answer. “Normal for a Hyur?” He finally answers with a shrug after a few minutes.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
“Another one.” He mutters with ahead shake. “I never really paid that much attention, sorry.”

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Tomas calls out the contents of each pocket as he gives them a light tap, before stopping to pull out a small slip of paper. “A ruler, few gil, and… a list it seems.”

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
“Hmmm” Tomas clears his throat again as he thinks. “I tend to be reserved in social gatherings. Once I get to know people, and with professional dealings I am ok, but on a social level I tend to get nervous. ”

Part 2: Growing Up“In general, good. I mean when we were little my brother and I spent a great deal of the day playing with the neighborhood kids, until we were old enough to help my mom in the store. “

16. What is your earliest memory?
“That would probably be when my brother convinced me that a ball of dirt was a Lalafell dessert.” He smirk “Boy did my brother get a whopping for that one, then I got one for being stupid.” Tomas chuckled quietly.

17. How much schooling have you had?
“I had very little professional schooling as a child. Most of what I was taught was from my mother as we helped out in the store.” He pauses and made a few noises with his throat. “You learn quite a bit of the basics operating a store, and then learning carpentry from my father taught me more of the advance arithmetic.”

18. Did you enjoy school?
“It never felt like school, since it really wasn't. But if you want to know if I would of rather been out playing, then yes.”

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Tomas suppresses a sigh “The carpentry from my father, at least the foundations. I am still learning from the guild of course. As for my a bit poor fighting skills, from some very patient people at the Lancer guild.”

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
“My mother and fathers, indifferent ways mind you.”

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
“Good.”

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Tomas drops his head in embarrassment.“By the twelve, it has been over twenty cycles now, I don’t remember.”

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
“Ummm” Tomas mutter under his breath. “I would say the game where we chased each other around… it was even better after a good rain, cause then we would try and push each other into the puddles.”

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
“I was and still quite am today, pretty reserved when it comes to social dealings. So I was more than a bit nervous when it came to meeting new kids.”

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
“A bit. Luckily for me, my brother was not nervous and I benefited from being near him in that regard.”

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Tomas clears his throat as he frantically searches his mind for an answer. “Ah, technically my mother”

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
“Wait what? Do people really need to know this?”

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.
If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
“I know I keep repeating myself but really it has been my biggest influence on me to date, but learning carpentry from my father. Yes, I was forced into it, but I do enjoy it.”

Part 3: Past Influences29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Tomas leans back in his chair and stares at the ceiling as he ponders the question for a minute. “Selling the store. I mean there was no other choice, but if we had not sold it, that would have been my life. “

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
“Hmph, I know this my get a bit tiring but at this moment in my life it is my father.”

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
“Joining the lancers’ Guild. I’m still a novice and haven’t yet fought anything living yet. But still it is a huge leap out of my normal comfortable life.”

32. What is your greatest regret?
“I don’t know if I have anything big enough to call greatest. Definitely have a list of small things, but nothing hugely life changing. But if I must say something, there was this person that worked at a restaurant near my family shop that I never got the nerve to approach… yeah.. um yeah good enough I think.”

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
“I’m sure that question gets a lot of truthful answers.” He mutters quietly. “I don’t know is stepping on a bug evil?”

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
“No, none at all”

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
“Bahamut…” His eyes lowered as he took a deep breath.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Tomas took a breath as he unconsciously traces a finger along his scar. “It is not how I got the scar, but a few times I have been approached by someone wanting to know the story, believing I got it from some grand battle when it really was nothing of the sorts. Thinking about it, it was more awkward than embarrassing, to me at least.”

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
“I would go back and try to knock some sense into my brother earlier, and then maybe he would not of ended dying in that war, but then we wouldn't have…” He grimaced “I don’t know...”

38. What is your best memory?
“ah… I would say helping my mother in the shop. Doing little things, cleaning up moving pieces around, it was just so much simpler then. “He stifles a laugh. “My life must sound boring compared to the others you must have interviewed.”

39. What is your worst memory?
“Hearing about my brother.”

I'm working on finishing the rest, and will update when I can.

(This post was last modified: 08-09-2013, 04:38 PM by Judeau.)
An exceptionally young looking rather tall mocha skinned Hyur Midlander with piercing green eyes sits across from his interviewer. He begins tapping his right index finger impatiently. He runs his hand through his jet black hair with outlandish blond streaks. "So let me get this straight. All I have to do is answer a few questions and you'll buy me a barrel of this tavern's finest? Rather generous eh old man? Well the name's Judeau...pleasure to meet ya."

!00 Question Survey
1.What is your full name?

Tch~ What's your deal? I already told you my friggin' name's Judeau, Judeau Thunderclout.

2.Where and when were you born?

Born on the 13th sun of the 4th Umbral moon in 1557 or something like that. In Ul'dah

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

My father Arun was a pretty well known smith. From what I remember about the old man, he was a hard working bastard. Definitely the kind of folk who didn't take a liking to those who laze around asking questions all day such as yourself.

My mother Chrysalia was a tenacious, proud and fair woman with light green eyes that seemed oft to peer into one's soul. She was far more menacing than my father (which is actually saying something *shivers*) She handled our household's finances. Apparently she came from some high-born family or something. She had to live in exile for hitching with my old man. She was always hounding my brother and I to study hard. tch

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?

My younger brother Gaelin is slightly lighter in skin tone than I am. Always a rather strange one. Hated conflict and was pretty friggin' weak if I remember correctly. The fool decided to follow in our father's stead crafting tools of war even though he despises killing. Last I heard he's a contracted smith somewhere? Can't remember.

My younger sister Jolline is without a doubt my mother's daughter. Cutest little thing you'd have ever seen I tell ya. Definitely picked up my mother's smarts to boot; She's always had the aptitude for manipulating aether. I haven't seen her since my aunt took her away to study when we were young. I've been searching for info on her whereabouts but the old wench has thoroughly covered their tracks.

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.

Tch~ maybe If I get to grow old I'd like to settle down with a nice set of legs and a warm cozy cottage, but I ain't planting roots anytime soon...

6.What is your occupation?

Occupation? Who the hell needs such a thing? My brother and the old man may have been content following boring paths and bolstering down to a single discipline, But I could NEVER do that. What I do is kill, what I enjoy is surviving and I'm pretty damned good at it.

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

*Slams hand hard onto table* What kind of wise arse question is that? Don't those things you call eyeballs work? tch', I'm fairly friggin' tall for a midlander and well toned. Dark skin like my father with my mother's green eyes. Scar on my nose and right eye. Jet black hair. Oh these blond streaks? You gotta distinguish yourself from the pack in case someone lops off your head ya know? *laughs*

8.To which social class do you belong?

Bwahaha! social class? Social standing is a pointless practice invented by old fools to stroke their overgrown egos and to further their lofty schemes. My "social" standing is on top of the backs of those who would dare charge against me and my brethren.

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

It's funny that you mention it, I'm actually allergic to a surplus of questions. My sword hand gets itchy and my bloodlust quickens... *laughs heartily* Settle down gramps I'm only kidding!

10. Are you right- or left-handed?

Either or suits me just fine.

11. What does your voice sound like?

You can't be going def already! ahhhhhhh geez. well umm.. To me I sound the way that I should...Yeah that's what I said! I don't know if I can explain it..

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

*thinks intently* hmmmm well ever since I was a pup I've always clicked my tongue and made a "TCH" sound when I was annoyed. Some companions also claim I say "friggin'" quite a lot.

13. What do you have in your pockets?

*rubs chin in an interested manner* If  this interview was a ruse and you're aiming to pilfer like a lowly thief I would love testing your speed against mine.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

I've heard on multiple occasions from adventurers too far past their primes that my fiery attitude is going to one day get me or my mates killed. But to the seven hells with them!

Growing Up15. How would you describe your childhood in general?

TCH~ Why the hell should I tell you? Long story short my family was torn apart.

16. What is your earliest memory?

You ask to no end these questions! geez If you must know!..I remember my old man's burly hands that seemed likened to the size of the sun and the moon taking a hold of me and planting me on his shoulders where he told me stories of the battlefields he once called home.

17. How much schooling have you had?

A bit of formal book learnin' when I was a pup but most of my knowledge came from fighting kids in our village.

18. Did you enjoy school?

At the time I despised being confined with nothing but books, my siblings and some haughty instructor. But looking back it wasn't such a bad time at all! *laughs*

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?

My folks always taught me the importance of sticking up for myself, but it wasn't until I killed my first baddie that I realized it takes more than stances and technique to survive.

I'd also say the mercenary Edmond Winner had a hand in shaping my tactics but that lush was barely fit to hold a sword let alone teach another his backward tricks.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.

My old man was my role model to a lesser extent because he always had the look of a powerful man. But he lacked resolve I believe.

Most oft, stories of the Azure Dragoon filled my head with grandiose ambition.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?

We got along well enough? TCH~ I mean we all butted heads sometimes because almost no one in my family liked to back down. My mother kept us all at bay though...pretty much because none of us had a death wish *laughs with a nostalgic look in his eyes*

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

*looks up beyond the interviewer with an ambitious smirk* A hero, the kind of adventurer that put to shame all before me.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?

I loved cooking and learning how to sew! bwahahaha again, I jest! swordplay and tactics training you dense old fool.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?

Strong willed, head-fast, and outspoken. Some would dare to say arrogant but I stood up for what I believed in.

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?

This was ages ago! Anyway what kind of friggin' questions are these?!

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?

None of your damn business you old pervert.

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?

If you have ulterior motives old timer you're mistaken. *Looks at interviewer scornfully* I was still a pup. That's all you need to know.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

*suddenly serious* Seeing everything my folks worked so adamantly for crumble before my eyes. And realizing how powerless I was.

My brethren, my kin, and those that I love. Hey why the hell are you looking at me like that? What were you expecting me to say?

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

First, I'm starting a monthly (weekly?) journal-format serial to go along with my character and his backstory -- we'll see where it winds up. For lack of a better place to put it for now, I threw it in a post on the beta forum which you can access here if you'd like a read: http://forum.square-enix.com/ARR-Test/threads/97059-The-Tale-of-Gilbert-La-pine-Ch1%21 :D

Some martial education as a Wood Wailer recruit, some training at the botanist's guild. Learned to read and enjoy books.

18. Did you enjoy school?
If you mean my training, it involved a lot of people yelling at me so not a lot.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
See #17.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
I looked up to the Wood Wailers a lot. Never put much stock in the seedseer voodoo, though. I think they're great leaders, just don't have much faith in the Matron as a god.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
They were dead.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Alive.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Not starving.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Determination.

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Didn't have much time for friends.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Still waiting for it (in Eorzea Big Grin).

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Yes. Waiting for someone who won't let me down.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
See link at beginning of post.

Part 3: Past Influences29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Being captured by the Garleans.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Right now, Caern Strathmore most likely. He's the one running Mordion Gaol's medical science division and the experiments. Other than that, Doer has been a good friend, and likely the next most influential person in my life right now.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Surviving.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Getting captured.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

If you count being a prisoner of war, yes.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?

Part 4: Beliefs and Opinions40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Cautiously optimistic.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Dying in obscurity.

42. What are your religious views?
The religion of the Twelve is for fools. The Twelve are powerful, even otherwordly beings, but not gods. I believe there's a higher power.

43. What are your political views?
Independent Gridania Forever! our government works pretty well, even with the hocus pocus of the seedseers.

44. What are your views on sex?
Should be done responsibly. I came from a family broken by death, despite the best efforts of my parents. I can't imagine someone indulging in their own lust to doom their child to a broken home willfully. That's not love, to the child or the partner.

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Don't know yet. My first mission in the field I was taken prisoner, though I certainly tried to skewer that centurion!
It's acceptable when it's necessary.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Imprison and torture another human being in the name of scientific advancement. Kind of like what the Garleans are doing to me right now.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
I think life, and love, are what you make of them.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
It's length.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
It depends on the circumstances.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Not sure.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
Anything immoral. The list is a bit long to go in to here...

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Hearth and home, liberty and country.

Part 5: Relationships With Others53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Politely and with respect, so long as they are deserving. Generally I mete to others what I would that they would to me.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Right now me, myself, and I are about the only 'people' in my life, so I guess me. Just trying to survive. After that, Doer is the only friend I've really got, but I don't see him much. There was one girl back in Gridania, but...

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
The good men and women of the Alliance enduring this hell alongside me. Heroes, every one of them.

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
See #54.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
I might if I make it out alive. We'll see.

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
Yes, but I don't know if it was noticed or reciprocated.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Trusting, kind, capable.

60. How close are you to your family?
Dead, so not very.

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
No, but it would be nice. War is a scary time to start a family, though. Then again, when else would it be more important...

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Doer, though theres not much he could do in the current situation.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
See 62 and link above.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Um... most people probably think I'm dead already or don't remember me. Doer probably.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
The Garlean empire at large. Ruined my life.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Neither, I just win.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Yes.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
Yes, but it depends on the people. I enjoy collaborating with good people.

(This post was last modified: 08-11-2013, 01:00 PM by Apoc1216.)
This is my first RP MMO character, so be gentle please Big Grin. I wrote it as the creator as well, he wouldn't be able to say all of that without bringing up a ton of bad memories or even share that much information about himself. I have included a snapshot of what he looks like as well, though it took some convincing as well to get that >.>

Show Content
Part 1: The BasicsPart 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name? Connal Fearon
2.Where and when were you born? In Ul’dah 16th day of the 6th Umbral Moon 1553
3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) Victor and Tina Fearon, Victor was a soldier and Tina was a housewife and ran her own food shop in Ul’dah
4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like? He has a younger Brother, James. He is growing up so fast but still has many years to go. He was 11 when Connal’s Father was killed. He still doesn’t understand fully what happened, but now at the age of 16 he is slowly starting to realize this world is a lot more dangerous than he imagined.
5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Connal actually lives at his own place, though small and danky. He helps support his family through odd jobs and and re-building the area around him.
6.What is your occupation? I guess you could say a hired hand, he goes around town getting paid for building or lifting or well, anything he can do.
7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Because of how long he has worked to help rebuild or assist others in construction, Connal is in very good shape, with a lot of stamina. He stands around average height for a Midlander (around 5’8 - 5’10) He decided to stay with shorter hair because he didn’t want it to get in the way and to add “style” as the other younger women would say he highlighted most of it with red streaks. He has matching Tattoo’s on his side to remind him of what was lost during the great war.
8.To which social class do you belong? Connal is by no means a wealthy man, but his family is doing just fine on their own terms. His mother’s stand has become very popular and when James is not helping with that , they are usually studying. James seems to be particullary fond of Aetherflows and Magic while Connal tends to be more interested in weapons and fighting than actual studies.
9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? Connal is quite in shape, and physical weaknesses are a thing in the past. He used to fall quite a bit and always injure himself; he’s had a few broken bones but nothing major.
10. Are you right- or left-handed? He is left handed actually, a rarity.
11. What does your voice sound like?  I would have to say it would be like Troy Baker, but not as deep.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? “Done and Done!”
13. What do you have in your pockets? Some Gil, lint, and some small tools.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I would probably the biggest standing is that when he is talking, he tends to be a bit louder than normal. This is caused because of how loud it can be around him, and he tends to be a little hot headed when people discuss his past or insult his family. There is also the fact that he can sometimes be in a depressed state; if someone happens to mention Bahamut or his father.

Part 2: Growing UpPart 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? With his family of course, well...as much as his family was around. He usually took care of himself when he was old enough to think for himself. His dad was constantly away so he never really saw his father as much as he could because his dad was in the military. Part of the growing up process was really done just on his own. He had to learn how to be a man and support himself and his family at a young age.
16. What is your earliest memory? His earliest memory is his dad leaving for an extended period of time. While it is fuzzy he knows it was for work.
17. How much schooling have you had? Besides my normal studies, that is about it. He isn’t really someone for the genius side BUT he has street smarts and is just intuitive about things around him.
18. Did you enjoy school? It was normal, he did not mind it but he did not succeed or make a whole lot of friends.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? On his own actually, he is more of a “Well there’s only one way to find out” kind of guy.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them. Yes, his father. But, he was never around and he only saw him as his father wanted him too, a hero.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? Everything was fine, even growing with James (although there were plenty of rough housing times, there still are. James thinks he can take Connal, boy is he wrong) was fine. Though the family has struggled a bit financially since Bahamut, they are making do.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? He actually wanted to be a soldier like his Father, part of the Immortal Flames. Though he never got the chance to do that.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Connal was always busy helping his family, so he never really had a lot of time to develop fun activities. He would usually play with the other kids and help his mom with the stand in Ul’dah. Now that James is old enough to help her, Connal no longer needs to tie himself to that stand and he can freely run around. Though visiting isn’t out of the question.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? He was quiet to my parents because I did not want to speak out of line but he was very friendly with others.
25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like? Kind of, he has friends who he grew up with, and they remain close. A few went and joined the military during the war and were killed by Bahamut. He only has a few now that he really connects with and understands.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? It was when he was a little kid, friends of the family had brought over their daughter to play with him and she ended up kissing him on the cheek.
27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? Yup. He’s been so busy with his family he hasn’t time to really go out and find someone.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. No he is just a normal Male.

Show Content
Part 3: Past InfluencesPart 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? Hearing that my father was killed by Bahamut. Connal didn’t speak to anyone for a few months, while his mother was grieving he ran the stand, well with what there was left. Everything was pretty much destroyed, we were hiding in a safe location when he struck. Connal has not been able to actually properly grieve because he knew he had to be strong for what would come.
30. Who has had the most influence on you? Connal’s friends and Mother. He never really had that much of a father figure growing up, since his dad was always gone. He has learned to be a respectful man to people and especially women, because he knows what kind of wrath they can impart on someone.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?  So far, finishing schooling and being in shape. He doesn’t really care to show off or gloat.
32. What is your greatest regret? Not saying goodbye to his father, they got in an argument before he left and never said goodbye.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? He’s not really evil, while he torments his younger brother James, that’s really about it.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? Nope, he keeps his nose clean because if his father found out he wouldn’t hesitate to bust him down and lock him up himself.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened? During the attack from Bahamut.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? He would say that he doesn’t have one, but he does. He ended up making a bet with some other kids when he was little that he couldn’t run down the street naked. Ah well, boys will be boys and he actually went through with the bet...the only problem is that his friends didn’t follow through and they didn’t chase after him. He had to talk back home naked...it wasn’t an enjoyable experience.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? It would have to be the last night he saw his dad. He would have wanted to say goodbye instead of yelling at him for leaving again.
38. What is your best memory? Whenever his family was together, and laughing..there isn’t much laughing now.
39. What is your worst memory? Soon after he found out about his Father, he tried to run to the battlefield where he was to find him. He ended getting caught in a blast that was above him and demolished a building where some of it fell around him. He was trapped all night until some of the townsfolk were able to rescue him. While he remained unscaved, the memories are still there.

42. What are your religious views? He’s not very religious, he believes the Twelve are there but doesn’t worship them like others.
43. What are your political views? He tends to stay away from Politics, it’s not really his idea.
44. What are your views on sex? It’s not a big deal to him, though he is waiting for the right girl to come along and be with him.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? It is an injustice when good men who can act, do nothing to prevent evil.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? He thinks so, but honestly he wouldn’t know the feeling as he has never been in love.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life? He has never worried about the richer things in life. Being successful is just a saying, he just wants to be.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? He can be quite hidden when he is in a negative streak, or something reminds him of his past (like his father). Though, if he gets enough drinks or is honestly that depressed about his father, he will talk to the people about it.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? No, he honestly adores anyone that is willing to help or just be kind to others. He doesn’t judge anyone.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it? He will not murder in cold blood, steal, or hurt anyone small or weaker than him. It’s not something he is interested in doing for a living either, considering his father was killed during the war.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? His family and friends. He doesn’t have many but he would go to the end of Eorzea for them.

He is normally quiet around new people, he likes to observe and see how they act. If there are any red flags, he tends to not be around them for very long. If it is someone he knows or someone he has known for awhile he will be talkative or just listen, depending on what is going on. He wants to help his friends, and if he has to listen he is okay with that.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? I wouldn’t say there is a most important person, because there are multiple of those. His family, his very close friends.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover? He wants someone who has the same passion as him to help people. Though, he would rather have someone who can make him laugh and comfort him when he has a bad day. She has to be cute, confident, a sense of humor, and someone who can make him smile.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? My family for one...and that’s about it.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? He doesn’t hate anyone oddly enough, a lot of people like his small family because they know the sacrifice his father made.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Not at all.

What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) Connal feels it is time for him to find out what happened to his father, granted he knows that he is dead but he wants to know how it happened, etc. He also feels he needs a change of pace, his life has become stale.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? Just to help people, if it involves something bigger than that’s alright as well.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? In his bed, surrounded by friends and family.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Profess his love to the girl he is in love with, run around and get drunk and say whatever that was on his mind.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? How much I have helped my family and others.
98. What three words best describe your personality? Helpful. Shy. Friendly.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Handsome. Shy. Very Nice.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…) I would sit him down, and tell him this: “You need to focus on yourself for a little bit, helping people is great but when you can’t even help yourself or you end up drinking all the time is not going to help you get over what happened. I know it’s bad but look what you have done in 5 years, you don’t see it but you have helped countless people. DO what you want TO DO, not because you can...but because you want to.”

Here's mine - I'll have to note: the name may change as she isn't actually "created" yet on the servers. But everything else will remain the same.

Part 1: The Basics
1. What is your full name?

“Maelette Istam’il – or at least, that’s how I remember it.”

2. Where and when were you born?

“I was born on the 26[sup]th [/sup]day of the Fourth Astral Moon, 20 years ago, in a cave system outside of Gridania.”

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

“After the… event… Ibecame separated from my family. I don’t know where they are, but I’m hopeful to one day find them.”

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

“A younger brother and sister… they should be with my parents.”

5. Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.

“I’m currently just renting a room in Limsa Lominsa, it’s not anything permanent. I live by myself, unless you count Carbuncle…”

6. What is your occupation?

“I’m a, uhh, freelance adventurer, right now… perhaps when I’ve learned more from my guild, I’ll be picked up for a more permanent career.”

7. Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

“I’m fairly short, as far as my people go. My skin is pale, so I wear a bit of blush on my cheeks. I wear my hair in some intricate braids – my mother did my hair like this as a girl, so I’ve just kept it. The hair itself is white with some twinges of black, and the braids are held together by some small silver accoutrements. In addition to those, I often wear a pair of silver earrings on my relatively short ears. My eyes are a sort of light crimson color, and I’ve got a blue tattoo over my left eye. Under my right eye is a small beauty mark. I’m satisfied with the appearance of my body, especially my chest.”

8. To which social class do you belong?

“I suppose I belong to the lower classes… I’m almost homeless, with no family, less money, and nowhere to go but up.”

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

“I’m allergic to sheep’s wool, and I have to wear glasses when I go outside or I can’t see too far.”

10. Are you right- or left-handed?

“I write with my right hand.”

11. What does your voice sound like?

“Pretty, I hope!”

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

“I’m not sure… If I douse any particular phrases or words more often than others, I’ve not noticed.”

13. What do you have in your pockets?

“A couple of linkpearls and a small crystal shard I had on me after being separated from my family.”

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

“I’d have to say that I’m a bit obsessed with making sure my books and papers are organized a certain way…”

Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe yourchildhood in general?

“In general? Pleasant, if I had to sum it up! I can’t say that I ever had want for anything as a child. I had friends and had plenty of fun growing up.”

16. What is your earliest memory?

“Hmm… probably the first time I left my parents’ home and ventured out of the cave. I was very young, barely in school. The sky was so blue and it was so bright, I thought I’d go blind! Haha, but I grew to enjoy the fresh air and the night sky.”

17. How much schooling have you had?

“Let’s see, I was 15 when Bahamut emerged, so… 9 years of schooling? I’m in a sort of school now, though. I’m learning the art of magic as an Arcanist!”

18. Did you enjoy school?

“As much as any child does,I suppose! Haha… I used to love discovering new things in the books.”

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?

“I guess you mean my professional skills? Well, everything I’ve learned so far came from the professors and mages of the Arcanist guild. I have almost no real world experience, but I get the sense I may soon be put in the field for research.”

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.

“Probably my mother – I always saw her as being very strong and very collected. Nothing ever seemed to make her worry; everything was an ‘experience’ to take lessons from and grow. I’d like to view the world that way, too.”

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?

“Pretty well, I’d say! I was the eldest, so I got to watch my siblings grow… I wish I could see them, now. I bet they’ve grown very well.”

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

“I think I wanted to be a chef, because of my love for food… but that’s not quite how things turned out. You see… I’m a terrible cook. Hehe…”

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?

“Reading new books, playing tricks on the smaller animals in the caves, and eating!”

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?

“That’s an odd question to ask… I suppose I was pretty childish as a child.”

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?

“I wouldn’t say popular, but I did have friends. I’ve forgotten their names, but I do remember spending many days playing with them in the tunnels… they were the ones that convinced me to go outside of the cave the first time. They told me that if I hadn’t left the cave, I’d be haunted by a ghost.”

26. When and with whom was yourfirst kiss?

“I… I, uh… haven’t been kissed…”

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
“Well… I haven’t been kissed… so…”

28. If you are a supernatural being(i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

“I’m pretty normal, I think! The biggest thing for me was being separated from my family. I wish I knew where they were… I know there’s a chance, a pretty good chance that they perished when Bahamut appeared… but I choose to believe that they are still out there, maybe even looking for me!”

Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the mostimportant event of your life so far?

“That’s easy, I just talked about it!”

30. Who has had the most influence on you?

“Probably my teachers at the Arcanist guild – they took me in, gave me a chance… I was naught but a guttersnipe when I found my way to their office in Limsa Lominsa. If I saw myself back then, I’m not sure I would’ve given me a chance.”

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

“The first time I brought forth Carbuncle and sealed the contract! It was the first time that I felt that I may actually have some talent with magic.”

32. What is your greatest regret?

“I don’t know that I have anything to regret, yet… I’m still young, and I’ve lived as best I can.”

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

“I’ve stolen food before, and I stole bedding from another vagrant.”

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

“Well, I never got caught, so no, I don’t suppose there’s a record out there.”

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?

“Waking up in a place I didn’t recognize, surrounded by people I didn’t know, in a landscape that had been decimated by Bahamut. I was so scared that I didn’t eat for days.”

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

“I, uhh… I suppose if I’m being honest here… I was seen swimming naked in a pool of water by a boy I had… feelings for. I couldn’t look at him or anyone else for weeks. In retrospect, I don’t think he ever told anyone…”

37. If you could change one thingfrom your past, what would it be, and why?

“I would’ve stayed with my family that day… I’d wandered off on my own in the markets of the city…”

38. What is your best memory?

“The first time my mother did my hair like this… she said it made me so pretty that the boys would follow me wherever I went. I remember feeling so confident…”
39. What is your worst memory?

“Sleeping alone, exhausted, frightened, and cold the first time after the destruction… I eventually collapsed… I’m not even sure how long I slept, but it wasn’t restful.”

Part 4: Beliefs and Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic orpessimistic?

“I have to be optimistic about things… that’s the only way I can move forward! I have to have hope for something…”

41. What is your greatest fear?

“Losing my friends… or being betrayed by them.”

42. What are your religious views?

“I direct my prayers to Thaliak, more often than any other. I feel people should worship what they believe resonates most closely to their life or how they wish to live.”

43. What are your political views?

“I think people should be free to make choices for themselves, but sometimes that freedom requires sacrifice. I disagree with the Garleans, but I want to see people protected by their government so that they may live without worries.”

44. What are your views on sex?

“Well… I don’t have any experience with it… but people should be free to choose how they live, including who, what, or how they decide to be intimate.”

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?

“I think I’m capable of killing, but only for food or defense. I don’t see myself taking any pleasure in it, or doing it for fun. That’d make me a sociopath. Animals must be killed in order for us to eat, and sometimes there are evil people that can only be stopped at the end of a blade…”

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?

“Subjugate another person’s will. To take away the most basic of freedom a person has: the freedom to think their own thoughts… that has to be the worst of all evils.”

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

“I surely do! I’ve seen it in my parents since I was young. Nothing less than true love was seen in their eyes when they looked at each other.”

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?

“A successful life? Seems like a subjective question, to me… I think I’d consider my life successful if I could make a positive impact on the people in my life.”

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

“I try to be as honest as I can! If someone is going to dislike me, or be put off by me, I want it to be because they dislike the true me, and not because they heard me say or saw me do something I didn’t mean.”

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

“I sometimes feel like the Lalafell get needlessly underfoot, but they are still good people. Well, most of them. I’m not a fan of spicy food.”

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?

“Sell my body… it’s the one thing I’ve got that I have to take care of… if I put a price on that, then I’ve put a price on my own health.”

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?

“My friends and family! That’s an easy question to answer, for me. There’s little I wouldn’t do if it meant helping the people closest to me.”

Part 5: Relationships with Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

“I try to be kind and polite to everyone I meet. I’ve found that a little etiquette from the start makes for an all-around better conversation or meeting.”

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

“That’s tough to answer…I suppose myself! I’ve got to take care of myself, so that I can become strong!”

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

“My mentor in the guild… they seem so… put together. They know what they want, where they are going, and how they are getting there. They don’t compromise their dreams for anything.”

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.

“Well… right now, my only friend is Carbuncle… he keeps me company and listens to me. I think we’re good friends, despite the contract.”

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.

“I don’t have anyone like that, yet…”

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.

“I know I’ve had feelings for a boy or two… but I don’t think I’ve been in love.”

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?

“I’m not sure… I suspect I will know when I find them!”

60. How close are you to your family?

“Err… Well… that is… I’d like to be!”

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?

“I’d like to start one in the future… but after I find out about my parents and siblings.”

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?

“I… don’t know…”

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?

“I trust Carbuncle, for sure!”

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?

“My family, if they are still out there… maybe my mentor at the guild?”

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?

“The Garlean Emporer… I feel he is responsible for all of this.”

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?

“I’ll argue if I think I can convince someone… but I generally avoid it. Rarely do people change their opinion when the person is aggressive.”

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

“I don’t think so… I’m fairly soft-spoken, and I don’t like being aggressive in social situations.”

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?

“Not really. I like to be noticed… in large crowds, I tend to blend into the background.”

69. Do you care what others think of you?

“Definitely! I worry if people will like me.”

Part 6: Likes and Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?

“Can reading be a hobby? I suppose you could say I have a hobby of collecting books…”

71. What is your most treasured possession?

“The shard of crystal I keep in my pocket – father gave it to me.”

72. What is your favorite color?

“I love greens… darker greens, like the color of the moss.”

73. What is your favorite food?

“Sweet bread with honey!”

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?

“I like reading about magic, and I love to read about history…. I also like works of fiction – heroic stories are my favorite.”

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?

“Anything can be good entertainment with the right people to share it with!”

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?

“I do not… I like to keep my head clear.”

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?

“Studying in my room and playing with Carbuncle.”

78. What makes you laugh?

“I try to find something to laugh about in any situation! I love a good joke… haha!”

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?

“I don’t really know… I guess I’d be pretty offended if someone insulted the people I care about.”

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?

“I would probably just read or go walk the docks.”

81. How do you deal with stress?

“I like to run until I’m exhausted when I become stressed… take in the sights and get a little exercise at the same time. It’s a good reprieve from studying or magical practice.”

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?

“I suppose I try to have a plan for everything… I like to pay attention to the details and watch it play out like water falling down a hillside – eventually leading the spot I planned.”

83. What are your pet peeves?

“I can’t stand it when someone moves my books.”

Part 7: Self Images and Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?

“My average day involves study at the guild, followed by practice and homework. I don’t often get interrupted in that, but when it happens it is usually something interesting or fun, so I don’t mind so much.”

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?

“I think that might be my determination… after five whole years, I’m still driving towards my goals and learning to live in this new world.”

86. What is your greatest weakness?

“Recognizing that my optimism stands at the edge of a perilous precipice and could be pushed over in an instant. I fear the day when that may come.”

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

“I think I’d like to be a little bit taller. The men of my people are much taller than I, and I’d like to be able to look them in the eye.”

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?

“Introverted, I suppose. I occasionally make efforts to talk to people and step outside my comforts, but it’s fairly rare.”

89. Are you generally organized or messy?

“Organized! Definitely organized!”

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.

“Three things I’m good at… learning things from books, casting magic, and being athletic. I’m awful at cooking, dancing, and talking in front of groups.”

91. Do you like yourself?

“For sure! I think I’m great – I just feel a little lonely sometimes.”

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)

“It pays the rent and pays for my schooling! I like exploring, but I do it for the money more often than not. Being able to help people is nice, too.”

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?

“I’d like to master all forms of magic… I want to understand what happened all those years ago.”

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

“I don’t know… maybe I’ll be raising a child or two by then? I’ll definitely still be studying magic.”

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?

“What a strange question to ask… hmm… I think if I were given a choice, I’d prefer to die peacefully, of old age, surrounded by the people I love and am loved by.”

96. If you knew you were going to  die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.

“I’d start by eating my favorite foods, then I would give my possessions to people that needed them, then, lastly, I would spend the remaining time with my friends and family.”

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?

“Discovering something new! There’s so much we don’t know about our world… I’d like to be known for finding something nobody had ever seen or known before.”

98. What three words best describe your personality?

“Hmm… I hope pleasant is one of them. Curious might be another! Uhh… polite, maybe?”

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?

“You’d have to ask others about that… haha.”

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)

I would tell her to get out there and never stop chasing her dreams – to seek them with everything she’s got. Until she collapses and dies, she should keep moving forward.

(This post was last modified: 08-26-2013, 04:30 PM by Fystrael Abylstyrwyn.)
Fystrael's eyes bulged slightly as the guild application scroll kept unraveling.  By the Twelve, how many questions was she supposed to answer for the Drowning Wench's barkeep before he'd write her up in the book?  Muttering under her breath, she got comfortable on the splintery barstool and picked up the quill.

Show Content
The Basics1.What is your full name?
Fystrael Abylstyrwyn aka Swyrswys

2.Where and when were you born?
In a village on a rock northish of La Noscea; 13th Sun, 4th Umbral Moon, 17 years ago.

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Pa - Greinfyst is how I knew him.  He was always at sea.  I kinda suspect he was a pirate with occasional fishing.

Ma 1 - Wyznwyb, the ma that birthed me.  She's a botanist, midwife and healer in our village.  She's nice but has no tact.

Ma 2 - Merlgeim, Pa's second woman.  She's a sailmaker and fisherwoman and has punches like cannon blows.  She's banned from using knives but no-one wants to tell me why.

Ma 3 - Styrblyss, Pa's third woman.  She's a whore with ice in her veins - I mean that with respect!  If my ma's the healer, she's the undertaker.  She likes to weave and read and has really nimble fingers.

Ma 4 - Bloesrael, Pa's last woman.  She's great at cooking and talks 25 words for 1.  Runs the town tavern.  She's always got a big long stick behind the bar for rowdies and she knows how to use it!

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
I have too many damn siblings!  Love them but ye Althyk, I needed the space.

Twin brothers, Sthalzwyn and Saelbzwyn.  Not really twins but Pa amazingly got my Ma and Styrblyss to give birth the same day!  If ever I thought me Mas didn't know about Pa's other lives, the boys' names tell me that's a bloody lie.
Sthalzwyn is my brother, Saelbzwyn is my half-brother.  Sthal is apprenticing with the local smith and Saelb is learning healing from my Ma.

Syhrrael is one of my sisters.  She's short, cocky and always in my business.  She's annoyingly fast and kicks really hard. I'm praying Merlgeim doesn't start teaching her before I get through marauder training or she'll be able to kick me arse right solid!

Blanrael is my other sister.  She and Ma almost died when she was being born; she was stuck sideways.  I barely got her out 'fore she ripped Ma open.  People say she's a little touched 'cause she says she talks to ghosts, but Styrblyss helps her a lot.

Awyrhund is my youngest brother.  He was born a little after that damn moon...  Whatever.  Ma was really mad at Pa for not being there, but she loves the li'l skrat.

Ourarael is Bloesrael's daughter.  She's got a great voice - sings the birds out the trees.  She's already a good cook like her Ma too.

Swynborg is Merlgeim's son.  He's even bigger than me, damn him!  Hitting him's like hitting a sea wall, so I thank the Twelve he doesn't have a temper!

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
I'm camping out in La Noscea, near Moraby Bay.  It's beautiful and quiet.  Finally!

No-one lives with me, but occasionally other adventurers and I will share camp.

6.What is your occupation?
Marauder?  Well at least  I'm learning axe-craft 'fore I start working on ship-building.

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm 7 fulms, give or take an ilm.  My skin's kinda minty-green if my sisters can be trusted.  I'm obviously a Roegadyn of Sea Wolf descent, if that helps you.

My eyes are brown, though one's darker than the other since I fell out a tree as a skrat.  My hair's black, something my Pa passed to all his children.  I like putting a touch of blue paint on it.

I've got a mole near my left eye and two big scars on my face; one over my forehead and nose bridge, one on my left jaw.  Damn tree.

I like pants and loose shirts, but I'm not really picky once it's not a skirt.

8.To which social class do you belong?
What's social class?  I'm just me.  If you mean "how much money do I have?" then I guess I'm a peasant.

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
My eyes're not the best some days.  Glare really annoys me, so I tend to wear eye black a lot.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right-handed.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Kinda deep and husky, I guess.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
...By the Twelve?  More likely to cock my eyebrows at you.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Lessee, a bun, some fishing line, couple hooks, some worms and bugs for bait, fish-gutting knife, me nice large kerchief.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I...I'm not sure.  I guess the fact that I don't talk a lot?

Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Normal?  Not much different from everyone else up to about 10 when that moon started looming over everything.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Me Ma put me in a tub in the lake while she was washing clothes.  I spent all day using her shirts as sails and pretending to be at sea.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Well, there was a little village school to make sure we could read and write and add.  Ma and Styrblyss now run it, so the village children are probably learning more than I did.

18. Did you enjoy school?
It was a'right, but I probably spent more time looking out the window at the sea and the sky.  I liked geography, though.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
I took up the axe 'cause Ma had the belly when Pa went with the armies to watch that moon fall.  I got my strength splitting wood and hauling things for the family.

Since I met Merlgeim, she's taught me a bit of weaponless fighting more refined than my usual brawling.

Styrblss taught me weaving so I could feel less clumsy and make me own sails instead of stealing the bedclothes.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
...Pa was my role-model.  He'd come back after months at sea smelling of salt and fish, his big axe on his back...  I thought the world of him.  I thought he was gonna come back with the armies...

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?

There were like, 20 of us kids in the village off of 6 families 'fore me other Mas came.  I may not have been popular, but I was one of the oldest and biggest.  Only had two bigger'n me, and those boys hated m'ever-stinking guts.  I was better than them in every way.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Ha!  That was with those boys I told you about, right when that moon was falling.  We were watching it come down, the whole village, and they said they didn't want to die as little boys.  So, I kissed them both.

Werewolf?  Vampire?  What the cod-swallow are those?

No magic in me bones.  That's for Saelbzwyn and Blanrael and Ourarael.  I just fight and protect with me axe like I did since Pa left for good.

I don't care too much about that stuff, I just know I don't like Garleans.  Whichever city as lets me sail free is a'right with me.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Me four Mas, me sisters and me brothers.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I wake up, take a good sea bath, then dress.  I'll go to Fisherman's Bottom to reel in my meals for the day, then head to the Tower to train.  After a bit, I head to the Wench for a bit of refreshment and eye-candy, then I'll take up whatever jobs are open.

If me routine's broken, I'm excited!  I love to face some new challenge and see new places!

Me curiosity, maybe.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Me rage.  I've got a right temper when I get going.

Introverted, I guess.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
More organized than messy, but not by much!

Very much so.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Me maps to new places.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Big Axe Bitch, haha! No, np, more like Curious Big Sister

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
If others tell you you're wrong on something, don't blindly agree, but don't ignore them either.

And your Pa was never mad about the fight.  He just left 'cause he wanted to do whatever he could to save you and his family.

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character |
#87
08-25-2013, 10:50 AM
(I apologize in advance for any lore errors or RP faux pas I might commit- I'm new to the community and only know some lore thus far. Still, I'm excited to be here! I apologize also for any formatting issues with the text. My computer doesn't like it when I copy/paste things it seems! I tried to fiddle with it as well as I could.)

A youthful-looking Miqo'te is seated on the lone, rickety looking chair in the one-room hovel. The home, so close to the docks, has all sorts of interesting smells and sounds about it. The girl is holding a sleeping Miqo'te child who appears less than one cycle of age and shares in her dark skin and pale blond hair. She moves fluidly to the floor when the interviewer arrives, wordlessly offering up her seat. She speaks very softly when questioned, so as not to wake the child.

Ask the girl some questions?
1.What is your full name?
"S'janna Rahz."

2.Where and when were you born?
"I'm not entirely sure where. My little tribe was pretty nomadic... for all I know, it could have been right here!"

3.Who are/were your parents?
"My mother is S'lanihn Vahri. We're not too close- for all that she ran off with a tia with delusions of grandeur, she's a pretty staunch traditionalist. My father was Rahz. I assume he was one of the nunhs of my mother's old tribe. I never had the chance to meet him, though, since S'khori Tia-and no, I won't call him nunh, he doesn't deserve it- convinced my mother and a few other women to run off with him while she was still carrying me. Funny how things work sometimes, isn't it?"

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
"I have an older sister who I love dearly, and two younger brothers who aren't nearly as awful as their father is. My sister's a skilled herbalist who's managed to keep our little tribe healthy through some pretty awful times, both with her herbs and her kind words for everyone. I wish I could be a bit more like her. She's also a wonderful mother to three adorable children. My two brothers are pretty young, but they were pretty well-behaved for the most part- except when they were in the same room as each other."

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
"It's a tiny little room in Linsa Lominsa, and it smells like the docks. Still, it's mine,
and that's got to be worth something, right? I share it with the most adorable little boy, S'anjha. S'anjha Tia, I suppose he should be, but if I have my say he'll never have to worry about that stuff."

6.What is your occupation?
"Little bit of everything, I guess. Work isn't always easy to come by, so I take what I can get. Mostly I do little 'mystic' things for people- read clouds, talk to spirits, and so on. A lot of it is bunk, or at least really
opento interpretation, but it makes people feel better, so... well, I'm not my sister, but like I said before, I do wish I could be more like her. Between that, and what little healing magic I know, well... I do what I can."

7.Writea full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
"I'm...hmm, well, about average height for a Miqo'te female, I suppose. I guess I'm a bit on the thin side- food's a bit scarce at times. I've got the same dark skin and pale blond hair as my mother and sister have. I guess if I had a few more proper meals I'd look quite a bit like them, especially my sister. My eyes, though, they're all my father's- dark blue, like the ocean. Which is funny, since I doubt he's ever seen
theocean. I wear, well, about what you'd expect from someone with my income- whatever I can get ahold of. Coarse linen frocks, and so on, though I still have my clothes from the tribe. I never wear them, though."

8.Towhich social class do you belong?
"Figuredthat'd be obvious by now. About as low as you can get without being on the streets. And even that's a near thing when things are particularly lean."

9.Doyou have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
"I'm
allergic to my old tribe.

...thatwas a joke, lighten up a bit, yeah? I've never run into anything I'm allergic to, and I've never really been seriously sick. The usual childhood ailments, sure, but nothing, like persistent. I'm probably not the most physical Seeker of the Sun out there, but I don't think that really could be called a weakness exactly."

10.Are you right- or left-handed?
"Left-handed."

11.What does your voice sound like?
"Idon't know? I mean, I never really listen to myself talk. Normal, I guess? I mean, it's not like I took an arrow to the throat and can only growl and grumble or something."

12.What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"Well, there's 'May S'khori Tia die in a fire,' but I suppose that's not really what you meant?"

13.What do you have in your pockets?
"Let'ssee... a couple gil, a few lures- so I can maybe try my luck fishing from the docks later- and a needle and some thread. I'd promised Farina I'd come try to mend her son's shirt later."

14.Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
-laughs-"Well, apaprently my most annoying habit is that I often have a crying child with me. I've also been told I have a penchant for losing track of time if I start looking out over the ocean. I can't help it... there's so much water!"

Part
2: Growing Up

15.How would you describe your childhood in general?
"Awful.

Well,no, I suppose that's a lie. Or at least me looking at it from where I stand now. It wasn't really that bad. There wasn't much to our little tribe so we all had to work that much harder to survive. There were a lot of children just a cycle or two younger than me, so I ended up with some playmates I could boss around, which was nice."

16.What is your earliest memory?
"Hm.I don't know if it's even a real memory or just something I made up, but one time when my mother had brought me out gathering with her- she used to do that a lot when I was little, since there wasn't really anyone else to look after me- I thought I saw a zuu flying way overhead. I tried to point it out to my mother, but she didn't see it. I still don't know if it was really there, to be honest."

17.How much schooling have you had?
"None.Well, nothing formal. Most of what I know I just picked up along the way. I can read now, though! That's something nice. Might not be necessary in my line of, uh, work, but it's something I'm proud of anyhow."

18.
Did you enjoy school?

"Well,I heard that it can be fun, but I've never actually met anyone with a formal education, so I couldn't say for sure. I've certainly never gone, so..."

19.Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
"Sameway as everything else, really. Just picked it up as I went. Apparently that's kind of unusual, especially for the magic stuff, but I've always been a little bit, well, sensitive to that stuff. I did learn a lot about how to hunt and gather while I was with the tribe, but there's not much call to use those skills in a city. I suppose I could always venture out and put that stuff to use, but Anjha is still so little..."

20.While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
"S'khoritaught me a lot- about how not to act. So did my mother. Don't get me wrong, I still love her, but... well. Enough of that. I know it sounds odd, considering I've never met him, but I like to think my father inspired me. Or at least, what I imagine him to be like."

21.While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
"LikeI said before, I never knew my father. My mother and I had a strained relationship. I wasn't really happy with the tribe, nor my expected place in it, and sort of blamed- well, blame, since I still do- her for that. I was really close with my sister, though, and we spent a lot of time together, especially when she became a mother and I was helping her with her kids. I think I learned more from her than I ever did from our mother. I got along pretty well with my brothers, too, as long as they weren't in the same place as each other. I hated it when they fought though."

22.As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"I...don't really know. I suppose I was always too busy to really daydream like that. I can't say I imagined I'd be where I am now, though, that's for sure."

23.As a child, what were your favorite activities?
"WhenI was younger, the whole tribe used to gather four times a cycle to give thanks to the Twelve for protecting us. It was the closest thing to a festival or party or whatever we would have, and I always loved it. We'd stopped doing that a few years before I left, though."

24.As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
"Honestly?I was a bit of a brat. I argued with my mother quite often, and was a bit more spiritual than most of the rest of the tribe, so that set me apart too. I was also a bit bossy, since I was the oldest by almost a cycle of all the children close to my age."

25.As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
"Ilike to think I had a lot of friends, but that was mainly because there was a whole big group of us right in the same age, and I sort of took charge as the oldest. I was close with only a couple of them though."

26.
When and with whom was your first kiss?

"Iwon't share his name. It's the one thing of him I have left, and I'm jealously keeping it to myself. He was a boy in my tribe who I was very close with. I was twelve at the time. He was a tia and it caused a lot of problems."

27.Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
"You'reawfully persistent with the personal questions, aren't you? I suppose I didn't say outright, but Anjha is my son, so... no. S'khori is his father. It's a very long story that I don't want to go into."

28.If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
"Iguess you could call me a mage, sort of. I don't know that that's really unusual though. I guess not a lot of Seekers pursue the magical arts though."

Part
3: Past Influences

29.What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
"That'sa hard question to answer. There were so many pivotal things that happened in a short period of time, and all of them important, for good or ill. To be honest, the most important one happened while my mother was still carrying me, when she made the decision to follow an idiot tia who wanted to make his own tribe, all so he could be nunh."

30.Who has had the most influence on you?
"Anotherhard one to answer. There are so many people who have had strong influences on me, some good, some ill. Much as I hate to say it, for the sake of honesty, I'd have to say it was S'khori. I learned a lot of things from him, but the most important one was courage. Remember the boy I mentioned before, the tia who I'd kissed? He's the other one who influenced me a lot, but I didn't realize it until it was too late."

31.What do you consider your greatest achievement?
"Givingbirth to Anjha. Yes, I know, countless mothers have given birth before me, and countless more will after, but it's still the greatest moment of my life. It was also a very difficult birth. The midwife wasn't sure I'd make it."

32.What is your greatest regret?
"Listeningto my mother. Yes, I do mean that. I should have done as she did, rather than as she said, as the saying goes. It's a choice that will haunt me for the rest of my days."

33.What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
"Ignoringmy best friend. It sounds silly, but... if I had listened to him, he'd still be alive today, and while I might still be in a dingy, tiny little bedroom near the docks, I think my life would be so much better for it. And far more importantly, I wouldn't have lost my best friend."

34.Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
"No,not that I know of. Er, this is confidential, right? Right. Because I know I've pilfered a few small things here and there, but I don't really feel bad about that. We all do what we have to do to survive, right?"

35.
When was the time you were the most frightened?

"WhenS'khori killed my best friend. He... he had this look
inhis eyes, this horrible, evil look, and I just knew what was going to happen, and I was powerless to stop it."

36.What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
"I...I don't want to answer this. I'm sorry, I know I promised I'd answer all your questions, but... this one... this one I can't."

37.If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
"Iwould have listened to my friend instead of my mother, like I said before. He wanted me to run away from the tribe with him, but I was afraid to. Maybe it was because I saw how well that had worked out for my mother and the others, or maybe I was just being a coward. But if I had just done it..."

38.
What is your best memory?

-shesmiles fondly- "That first kiss. I knew it could get us into trouble, but I didn't care.I just felt so free, so daring. Whatever else might have come of it, I don't regret that in the slightest."

39.What is your worst memory?
"Youalready asked this one, and I said no. It's the same as the embarrassing one, and I will not share it."

Part4: Beliefs And Opinions
40.Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
"Doyou have children? Whenever I see Anjha's little face, I can't help but to smile, no matter how hard things are. He gives me hope."

41.What is your greatest fear?
"Thatsomehow, someway, I'll be forced to return to the tribe. To S'khori. I'd die first."

42.
What are your religious views?

"Irevere the Twelve, as do most, no?"

43.What are your political views?
"Idon't really think about politics too much. I don't have the time or the energy to waste on that stuff, but I suppose if I had a say in the matter, I'd get rid of the tia and nunh nonsense. It causes nothing but grief and heartache."

44.What are your views on sex?
"That'spretty personal, don't you think? Still, I guess there's little harm in telling. I don't plan on sharing a bed with anyone, at least, um, casually. And I don't know that I'm capable of falling in love with anyone enough to be intimate with them. And since I have no plans of joining my old tribe- or joining a different one- well, you have your answer, I suppose."

45.Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
"Animals, yes, I have before and would be able to again. I did spend some of my later childhood as a hunter, after all. I've never killed a person before, and honestly I don't know if I could. Even one I really, really hated..."

"...next
question."

"Well,I guess it depends on who I'm speaking to, and what about. There's some things I don't care to talk about- obviously. And there's some things I'm quite happy to discuss. Of course, if I lose my temper, well... let's just say there's no secrets, then."

50.Do you have any biases or prejudices?
"Ithink everyone likes to tell themselves 'no, I'm not biased in any way,' but that's a load of chocobo dung. We all have our little prejudices, don't we? Honestly, I'm quite apt to think ill of anyone who calls himself a nunh, and likely to be a bit more kindly disposed to any fellow Seekers who've sought their own path away from their tribes. I also don't much like hyur men. They stare too much."

51.Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
"Iwant to say yes, but I know there's nothing I won't do for my son, even if it's something awful."

62.Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
"I...I don't know. I've never really thought about it. I... guess I ought to. I mean, who can say when some sort of emergency might come about. And me, with nowhere to turn."

63.Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
"The
twelve. They are all I have, all I can rely on."

64.If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
"Selfishly,I hope my family misses me, since I'm already 'missing' to them, but truly I hope they understood and were not too badly hurt by my choice. Anjha would miss me, of course."

like the ocean."

73.What is your favorite food?
"There'sa breed of desert wolf back home that made for excellent eating, if you could get it. They were often in packs so it was quite challenging, but spiced right it was a great meal- and many more meals to come, too! What, did you think I'd say fish? I'm a desert girl, I'm afraid."

I like to think I'm a pretty good mother, if that counts. I'm quite awful at singing. I mean, I suppose my voice is okay, but I just can't, you know, get the notes right. It always comes out sounding wrong. I'm not much of a warrior either. Well, I mean, I know a few spells, but like give me a sword or something? I'm hopeless. I guess I'd do okay with a bow though. And one more... heh. I know. The last thing I'm very bad at is making smart decisions."

Towering over other races at 7'3", Bloodwillow looks like your typical Sea Wolf clan Roegadyn.  Well built with nice curves, she holds herself with a down to earth demeanor.

Black hair feathers out around her face and rests on her shoulders loosely, blood red highlights streaking in clumps of strands.  Small shells and metal bands could be seen and heard tinkling as she moves her head, a gift from days past.

Her face is young and barely scarred, except one upon her chin.  A tone of blue skin contrasts the blood red vertical paint on the right side of her face, a cold, silver colored eye boring out from within.  Her left eye is red in color, some saying because of all the bloodshed she saw in her youth.

Her attire ranges from light armor with plates sewn in to entire suits of heavy plate armor..  A large axe can be found strapped securely to her back, or hefted in a relaxed fashion over her right shoulder.  She is not into materialistic things, so her jewelry and trinkets about her are sparse, except for one ring on her left middle finger.

2.Where and when were you born?
"Ul'dah, though I was raised in Limsa Limosa.  As to when I was born, well... there are some details I'd prefer to keep to myself."

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
"I feel as though you're working for the arcanists by the docks... If you must know, my mother's name is Lily, she hails from Ul'dah; and my father is named Heinrich, he's from Limsa..."

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
"My mother would be loathe to touch my father again, I'm sure. I'm an only child."

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.

6.What is your occupation?
"I work for The Maelstrom  I'm a Private First Class.  Although I would have expected you to know that from the uniform.  Be advised that if you're aiming to become part of the arcanist's guild you're going to have to be much more observant."

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
"Scratch that, you're never going to be in the guild with questions like that!" the young Hyur announced.  Fortunately she continued to cooperate with the questioning and stood up, placing her hat on her head.  It was then that she provided a spin so that her interviewer could receive a full view of what she looked like.  To say she was nothing special, was an understatement - she was of average stature at around 5'3", had no notable scars, and was of a slim build that indicated regular exercise.

Her attire for the most part, hailed from the Maelstrom, an indication that she had recently come off duty.  To pick her out in a crowd would not have been easy as she simply blended in...

"Satisfied?" she asked as she sat down.

8.To which social class do you belong?
"I make enough to get by comfortably."

I suppose I would say that physically my fighting form leaves much to be desired, I have very little tolerance for those who lack intelligence and I'm about as useless as a blunt needle when it comes to sewing a hem."

91. Do you like yourself?
"Yes."

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
"I'm not an adventurer, I work at an outpost in Aleport, this happens to be my job and will continue to be for the foreseeable future," she replied darkly and shook her head.

((While she continues to work with The Maelstrom, it's due to the ability to travel without being questioned under their banner.  Her main goal in life is to master all forms of magic so that she might reach her full aetheric potential; but since there are those in the world who would try to delay her or warn her against this, she keeps it to herself.))

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
"I would like to see myself at the top of the chain within The Maelstrom."

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
"See above."

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
"If I must go out with a bang, I would like it to be a literal one and through my own doing."

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
"Say goodbye to my father, ensure I had my chocobo cared for and that whatever business remained was settled."

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
"I was extremely reliable in a tight spot."

98. What three words best describe your personality?
"Diligent, efficient, wry."

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
"I have no idea."

((Stubborn, blunt, opinionated))

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
((As a player, I would tell her to give those she deems 'stupid' another chance, as more often than not everyone has their derpy moments, including her.))
