Fufulupa (the lalafell Brass Blade in Horizon):
Why, adventurer, I must say you bear a striking resemblance to one of those rogue Scions we have been ordered to apprehend on sight! I hope you have not suffered undue harassment at the hands of my men! (I received no explanation as to why you were to be detained, but even if I had, I would not believe it. As if the Scions of the Seventh Dawn could ever deserve such treatment!) Amalberga (Brass Blade by where the captain used to be in Central Thanalan): Y-You shouldn't be here. There'll be hell to pay if word spreads. Maybe you can keep us safe when you're here, but when you're not? Aduu Avagnar, The Wanderer: Wiki

Papashan, Ul'dah Dispatch Yard:
"Even in these dark times, you think to pay this old man a visit... You are kind my lady. Very kind indeed. But never you fear! Her Grace is alive and well, I am certain of it. That the incident has not been made public is proof positive of this. ...Or so I try to convince myself. I...I could not carry on otherwise..." ( for OOC eyes only) |

Ahhh, dark tidings! Â Thankfully, Malosi has made herself comfortable outside of Ul'dah, of late. Though, perhaps not altogether terrible for her main storyline, as she is determined to stand against the Syndicate...though not publicly...not just yet.

"Ah, my dear (playername)! Rumor has it you've gotten dragged into some unsavory business. But keep your chin up, you hear? I believe in your innocence - we all do. And those that believe otherwise will have to answer to my fists of fury! Hah hah hah!
- HAMOOOOON HOLYFIIIIIIIIIIIST 'cause you know you need more feels. "Hail to you, adventurer. Tell me, how fares Wilred? I'm told he went to enlist in the Crystal Braves at your invitation. My people's toils continue, and our hopes rest upon young shoulders such as his. Well do I remember the time he went astray, and for that I all the more look forward to seeing the man he has become." - Gundobald, quest giver in Little Ala Mhigo. |

Good finds in Ul'dah! I went to Limsa to see if any of the Maelstrom heard anything from Merlwyb. Unfortunately, the gateguard for Merlwyb's office had nothing to offer but, word's also reached Limsa:
R'ashaht Rhiki Wrote:The Admiral informed me of your unjust treatment at the hands of the Ul'dahns. 'Tis not a tale known by many - the report was given only to the Maelstrom's upper echelons, so you'll not need to explain yourself to every commander on the street. If I ever come across the scoundrels who framed you, however, they will certainly be explaining themselves to me! Baderon Tenfingers Wrote:Sounsyy! The rumor mill's been spinnin' full tilt, but I see yer 'ead's still attached to yer body. Them Ul'dahn bastards got some nerve pinnin' that shite-stained accusation on the bloody hero of Eorzea. Limsa might be full o' pirates and cutthroats, but Thanalan's got its fair share o black-hearted villains, an' that's the gods honest truth. Ah, but I'd best reel in me tongue afore I get ye into more strife. The Wench is full o' unfamiliar faces these days, and more'n a few of 'em make me nose twitch..." Wyrnzoen Wrote:Sounsyy. You should know that we've had visitors to the [Coral Tower], offering heavy purses for information on your movements. A futile effort. Once they realized that your loyal guildmates would sooner hack off their own arms than betray you, they took their sordid coin elsewhere. Reyner Wrote:It does me well to see you, my friend, and none the worse for your recent ordeal. Know that the Admiral unequivocally believes in your innocence - as do we all. While you are on Lominsan soil, you are under our protection. Nonetheless, I urge you to remain on constant guard wherever you go. There is no telling where agents of Ul'dah may be lurking. - - -
Next I went to Gridania. I really wanted to go talk to Y'mhitra to see if she had anything new to say about her sister's fate. But sadly, no mention. Nor does she talk about events in Ul'dah. She doesn't know. =/ But then again... I kinda got the vibe that Y'shtola and Y'mhitra are estranged for some time. Anyways, back to pertinents! I went to Stillglade Fane to seek an audience with Kan-E. Unlike in Limsa where the gateguard had nothing to tell me, the Silent Conjurer outside the Lotus Stand said this: Silent Conjurer Wrote:I am afraid I cannot grant you entry to the Lotus Stand at this time. I will, however, say that the Elder Seedseer is doing all within her power to assist you in your plight. Have faith, my friend. E-Sumi-Yan Wrote:The Elder Seedseer has told me of the treachery that took place in Ul'dah. Though I will continue to question them, the Elementals seem blind to the whereabouts of the missing Scions... Vorsaile Heuloix Wrote:We are aware of the vile accusations leveled against you. Suffice it to say we give them no credit. As ever, you are welcome here in Gridania, and may continue about your business unhindered. The Elder Seedseer herself has decreed this. And though we cannot offer you much in the way of assistance, so long as you have the freedom to act, we do not doubt that you will soon put matters to rights. May the Elementals watch over you. Miounne Wrote:My friend! 'Tis a relief to see you alive and well! Word reached me of what occurred in Ul'dah, and I had feared the worst. But rest assured you are safe here. All of us in Gridania who know you doubt not your innocence. Even as we speak, the [Adventurers' Guild] is deliberating ways in which we may offer you support in this difficult time. So do not lose heart, and keep fighting the good fight! That was all for Gridania. So it looks like the whole incident is being rather hush-hush in the other city-states. Merlwyb and Kan-E have both offered you asylum to the upper echelons of the Maelstrom and the Twin Adders. But unlike in Ul'dah, word has not yet spread to the common folk. Even the guild leaders in Gridania especially seem to be much less aware of the situation than those in Limsa? As multiple guild leaders in Limsa said they were visited by folks looking for me, Bounty Hunters or Brass Blades or Crystal Braves I don't yet know. - - -
Anyways, off to Mor Dhona! Slafborn Wrote:You're safe, thank the gods! I heard about what took place in Ul'dah - of the terrible things they said you did. Well, it goes without saying that I don't believe a word of it. I promise to do all I can to track down your fellow Scions. Knowing that you managed to escape unscathed, I'm hopeful of the others' survival. Brass Blade Wrote:You... Easy now, friend - I'll not raise the alarm. I'm not fool enough to believe the rumors. That said, I cannot well let you pass. Orders are orders. Alys Wrote:...It's you! When the Crystal Braves stormed in and closed off the Rising Stones with nary an explanation, I feared the worst. I'm relieved that you are safe, at least. You look as though you've been through the seventh hell itself, and I'd love to offer you our hospitality, but 'twould be unwise for you to linger. There's no telling who may be watching. Glaumunt Wrote:Thank Rhalgr, you're safe! I was watchin' when they stormed the Risin' Stones. The way your comrades were bein' manhandled, you would've thought they were criminals o' the worst order. That ain't no way to treat the heroes what saved the realm! What in the hells is goin' on...? Interesting finds all in all! Hope this helps! It appears as though if you aren't an upper-ranking Grand Company officer, you aren't going to know much about this outside of Ul'dah. Rumormill NPCs have been added throughout the streets in Ul'dah, so I take that to mean its kind of the talk of the town. How much is common knowledge dunno. Seems there's a lot of misinformation going out and most of it seems to be trying to focus on the WoL and Scions being bad and less about the condition of the Sultana. Also Momodi seemed to have put the word out in the Adventurer's Guild, so the upper tiers there likely know somethings up as well. The guild leaders with the most pertinent info are also those directly tied to the GC heads - ie. E-Sumi-Yan in Gridania and Wyrnzoen and Reyner in Limsa. |

In addition to what's already been listed, here are a few more guild leader reactions:
Quote:Byregot's beard, V'aleera! When they told me ye were done fer, I knew it weren't so! Still had a drink in yer memory, to be sure, but in me heart o' hearts I knew ye were free and fine.Â-Brithael Quote:Greetings, V'aleera. Seems you've a knack for landing yourself in the midst of ugly situations. But not to worry - once the blaze dies down, the purity of your steel will be revealed for all to see.Â-H'naanza Quote:What's this I hear about ye bein' set up for a fall in Ul'dah? If ye need a place to practice yer hidin', the shadows're always thick here in the Sisters. Besides, there ain't no cull as'll be gettin' past ol' Lonny without his say-so.-Jacke Quote:Rumor has it you've been framed for a vile crime. Would that I were in a position to help you, my friend, but for now, these words will have to suffice: no matter how grim the situation may seem, so long as you hold on to your courage and press forward, you will eventually find a path to salvation.-Ywain V'aleera's Wiki - https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages...eera_Lhuil

Buscarron himself added a tidbit...and even talked about the traitorous Wailer that BETRAYED US AGAIN, THAT BASTARD.

I -just- logged off for the night but there is a Crystal Braves lady in Mor Dhona. If you speak to her, she mentions how if it weren't for the fact that you would be causing a ruckus in the city, she'd bring you in. But only because you're in the city. She doesn't want to cause trouble to the city.
Along with stuttering. |

Like this thread. Saves me going around to every NPC myself.
Based on this (http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Brass_Blades) and the obvious, the Brass Blades are just the Syndicate's version of security forces/militia within Ul'dah. While probably not inherently evil in and of themselves, their bosses certainly are. The idea that they were given more power in Ul'dah during the Ishgard kerfuffle is scary in itself. Don't suppose anyone had been to visit Hunberct before maintenance? |
