Ahahahahahaha... wat. This can't be serious!
Was 1/4 joking with the transfer money thing. Though people paying them certainly doesn't encourage them to change stuff. xD My main point was that it can't possibly be a hard character cap that's causing the problem. SE trying to direct the flow of traffic makes some sense, but it's a very heavyhanded way (especially since they don't even let players already on the server make alts).
oh, no. You caught a typo. I very much meant to type "aren't". On that note, I'm going to fix that ASAP.Â
But I meant in more in say, a comparison to 1.0 and 2.0. The zones in 1.0 were massive. If we had similar congestion and if the game was still using crystal tools, we'd have been screwed. (there was a reason 1.0 had like, a 20 rendered chracters max limit). ...we see the same happen with fates. ...plop a ps3 user down where Odin spawns. Watch the DCs.
I agree that it's likely not a hard cap, since such a case would be kinda amazing in itself. But I do think we're probably getting too close for comfort from a stability perspective. The networking code and architecture for this kinda stuff has WAY more variables than we can really discuss, unless someone is a network engineer. And even then, we don't know how SE's is set up.Â
As such, the most we can do is keep bothering them about it, but it likely won't change until it becaomes a problem on other server as well.
