Drama aside, rpers are pretty good at taking care of our own. If you need anything, we will be happy to help.

That's good to know! Thanks for the welcome and the offer for gear, everyone loves shiny gear! I haven't joined any LS/FC's yet but any and all offers are welcome. I'm just not sure what i'm looking for lol

'Squish Filled'? Never heard this term before!

I made it up haha. ^^; Population might just be packed to the point players get squished with people and RP which is a good thing!
Sorry if I'm adding this to the wrong thread but could someone point me in the direction of a thread or something that helps you look for free companies? (I thought this thread was that at first by the title, haha.)

I can understand how many new or returning RPers can be torn on where to go.

Originally I was like "Oh let's go to this new server (Gilgamesh) where we can start new and make our place in the game!"

And now reading this topic I am having second thoughts. Â And it is difficult.

Mine are these 2 ....Â

1. Â Balmung has the dedicated, rooted in RP community. Â Once can tell that by many posts here and other places. Â This is great for new people to find a spot but it can also be VERY intimidating.

I've been on the outside of cliques. Â I've been forgotten in a few minutes of RP when a person's friend came on. Â I've been lost in tavern RP where the chat window goes mock 5 scrolling upwards.

2. Â Gilgamesh would let me start in a place where I can slowly get my groove on, find my place, and make a name for myself.

But it is hard with all the rumors and talk about such a possible low RP population. Â And, sadly, I've been there as well when I wanted to Rp but there is none to find .. ever. Â On an RP server.

So I'm not sure what to do. Â Servers still all locked for me and the spouse, so thinking to just kinda forget it and sit on this all until head start or live comes and goes.

We both already have our RP concepts put together pretty well. Â I even have a few more concepts in my head but I want to make sure I have the right place to put them all (splitting between servers would be bad for me).

How did you all make up your minds?

Also? Because making something established, better, has it's own appeal equal to making something, established.

Yes, I do know what you mean.

In EverQuest, I returned after many many years as the game was free. Â They had a new server there, Vox, which was only a year old. Â What a great place to go to, enjoy the game and make a guild?

I did good for about 3 months then it all went south. Â Since my new guild was very different from others on the server, along with real life kicking in .... which is a very big factor for me. Â I've been married 13 years, I'm 35 and wife is 40 .... so RL will always take priority, my guild of 35 main accounts went down to 5 after a long month of family deaths, vacations, and illnesses.

To say I was sad is an understatement. Â I was crushed. Â And trust me I put a ton of work into it, I made my own website, worked my butt off ... and it didn't work.

So I guess I have a fear of trying to "start over again" on a "new" server. Â That is a reservation I have about going to Gilgamesh which I don't think will easily be allayed.

Yet that could also move into Balmung. Â If RL takes priority, would any guilds have myself and the wife if we are gone for almost a month? Â Some can be sudden disappearances though I always do my best to tell people when it will be a planned absence.

Eh, more to think about.
