I was so happy to have the first expansion be focused on dragons and we get a particular minion later in the MSQ before the expansion to journey with us. I REALLY REALLY wish that the SMN gets a Leviathan-Egi as I love that summons as it is like a dragon, but more water based.
That's like suggesting that if a hyur sleeps with a dog (like, a little dog) they will have dog-Hyur mix baby....which is not the case. Dragons and the races of Eorzea...if they were to mix sexually, would most likely be sterile, albeit kind of disgusting to think about >>
Au Ra are not dragons. The lore states....and I quote:
The curved horns and beautifully patterned scales that characterize the Au Ra oft give rise to speculation that this Hyur-like race native to the Far Eastern continent of Othard are, in fact, the progeny of dragons. This, however, has long been disputed, with scholars citing several distinct differences in the two races as evidence of decidedly dissimilar roots—the first and foremost being the enhanced hearing and spatial recognition granted by an Au Ra's cranial projections (traits not attributed to draconian horns), and the second being the gross disproportion of body mass between Auri males and females (again, a trait widely unseen in dragons).
They LOOK dragon-like and are the closest to looking like dragons out of any of the other races we've met. But there is not biological indiction that they are as their horns function differently and the genders look different. They DO perhaps have roots....maybe? Most likely not. But so do humans and monkeys...
