I could... Imagine Hornet doing that. Aaaaaargh!
GET. OUT. OF. MY. HEAD. But no, to answer the OP's question, "Balumang" (Balmung, I'll presume?) is not getting more toxic. I've only came across less than a handful of "toxic players" in a month of playing. ^_^ Plus, we have cookies. Cookie? I am as just wondering since there was a FC getting onto the minion fc.Â
right now I almost fell that some members(including the GL) in this FC(not the minion one) are also trying to make a friend look very toxic and I don't recall this person being that toxic. |

^ I cannot parse that sentence at all.
I'm guessing there's drama in your FC? That's going to happen. A lot of different personalities and some are going to clash. Try not to let it get you down. |

I think in the case of ANY MMO, as time passes, many lasting friendships are formed, but on the flip-side, people discover players that they can't stand. I wouldn't say that I think this makes things more toxic, people just sort of learn who those are that they don't want to affiliate with. My suggestion here, is to do just that: avoid those you find you just CANNOT be friendly with. Otherwise, try and talk to them about things you might have heard, CALMLY! It could be that your issue is all just a misunderstanding at the core. It's also good to try and avoid believing everything you hear about those in the community. Take rumors with a grain of salt and form your own opinions of the people you interact with. All we can try and do it be fair, right?

One of my friends left my current FC ages ago because she had seen unpleasant conversations, but it's only recently that I've realized a few things myself. I only know one or two cases I dislike, though. Most people are either cool or completely unknown to me-- usually the latter. But yes, conflict will arise sooner or later in any community. To answer the title question:
From my experience, the general community hasn't changed too much. The endgame community has been tense, now that more endgame content has been introduced. Everyone's racing to get content done ASAP, myself included. There's also growing frustration among the raiders who have yet to beat Titan Extreme. But I assume once the they get their fix of progression (and loot), the whole "l33tilvl9999exp'edpplzonry" attitude will start to drop like it did with 2.0's content. Someone brought up a great point about the frequent DF griefing and a few of Balmung's FC's have been noted for doing it. The one I remember being talked about is an endgame/social FC (won't namedrop). On that note: if said FC leaders/officers/member are reading this post, reign in your trolls. (If you need me to be more blunt, stop being asshats in CT.) So if you interact primarily with raiders or have been griefed/harshly criticized by raiders, I'd understand why you think the community has become more toxic. But it should die down in a month or so. The RPing community is much the same. We still get trolled once in awhile and will continue to get trolled. Let it roll off your shoulders and keep doing what you're doing. |
