Introduction:
Though the fires of war have smoldered for some time in the wind-whipped mountains of Gyr Abania, there is still much work to be done. Infrastructure to be established, trade to be brought about and new bonds to be forged. Such goals cannot be achieved through mere charity and good will of the neighboring nations within Aldenard alone. Seeds of trust, reliability and profit must be sown within any who would see this vulnerable nation rise once more to its former glory.
At the heart of this cause stands Rhuli'a Kanjun, former refugee of Ala Mhigo, once little more than a wayward pugilist and sellsword, now a proper Monetarist of Ul'dah. Fighting tooth and nail over the span of almost a decade to achieve this lofty position, the fiery Keeper wastes little time in the frivolities of the noble life and even less in the petty schemes of his ilk in the Jewel of Thanalan.
Having amassed a wealth of allies from all reaches of Eorzea, the Miqo'te dreams of being able to marshal a group of like-minded individuals under his banner. Under the stars. Under the Comet itself, streaking beautifully across the sky as it led the Ala Mhigans of yore to the safety of their homeland. Campaigns to establish trade, caravan routes, plumbing ancient tombs and caverns of Gyr Abania, protection of the aforementioned sites and more are ever-present in the company's day-to-day. Well established at this point, The Comet's Cause can afford gifts of coin, opportunity and power given to those who prove themselves strong and true.
The Cause accepts all comers, so long as their actions see the betterment of either Ala Mhigo or Ul'dah. With the two city-states being so closely tied together, Rhuli'a sees little reason not to accept either who wish to make themselves citizen.
Ala Mhigans of all backgrounds are welcome. Resistance, Fists, Crimson Duelists, Sellswords, Archaeologists, Merchants, and plenty others!
Ul'dahn? Fellow Monetarists, representatives of the various guilds within the city, Thaumaturges, Gladiators, Brass Blades and more!
Sellsword? As a former mercenary, Rhuli'a respects strength. Initiative and keen minds earn positions quickly in his fold. Captainship is but a few dozen cut throats and shattered shields away.
OOC & Contact Information:
The majority of the Comet's Cause's arcs will take place in either Gyr Abania or Thanalan. Having close ties and allies in both regions will see our members in them regularly. MSQ progression is a must, though a majority of the Gyr Abanian events will be held in the Peaks and Fringes at this time.
One attitude that is stressed in the Comet's Cause is server-participation. While not necessarily a rule, it is more a guideline in interacting with the -entire server- in some regard, be it attending public events, interacting with those affiliated with the guild, etc. There's a whole server full of interesting people and stories and to reserve ourselves to just one small guild seems like a disservice to our members. Our Linkshell is given out to non-members who have sympathy with the guild and those vetted often attend guild events. It makes for a series of wonderful connections and a bigger playground for all. Know that LS members must follow the same code of conduct and rule set as guild members if they wish to participate in CC-RP events.
The Comet's Cause is a guild that often deals in morally grey issues. Characters of all archetypes will be able to find comfort here, but it will not be unlikely that the company will not use every power in its disposal to assure 'victory'. Murder, bribery, extortion and more can be found within certain reaches of the Free Company, so we ask that you keep that in mind when applying.
CC-RP is lore friendly! Not lore-strict. While we will not accept the WoL and Zenos' brother into our guild, certain bendings of lore on a case by case basis, will be accepted. All it takes is communication, an open mind and subtlety to get along. Fantasia is not accepted as lore-friendly.

Conduct Expectations:
To promise a drama free environment would be to lie to you. People get upset, have bad days and miscommunicate. This is just a fact of life. What I can promise is mediation to try and soothe things over. Small problems are often left alone and, before you know it, half the guild has left and you're stuck with bad memories over a -hobby-. I do not want that. My members do not want that. I am sure no one wants that. These guidelines have been established so that mitigation of any clash of ideals, interpretations or tastes are kept to a level where no one takes offense.
1. Communicate, Communicate, Communicate. I cannot say this magical word enough. So many relationships in this game have ended due to unintended slights, well-nursed grudges and more, which could have been -easily- put to bed if those offended had just said something. Tact is to be used, of course, but a plain statement of "This is making me uncomfortable" will immediately garner attention from the leaders of this community. We are here to make sure you have fun. We are here to help you unwind, since we are doing the same when we boot this game up. We cannot help you if we are ignorant to problems. Please let us know privately of matters that need our attention and we will start discussions on how to handle said problem.
2. IC/OOC bleed is not tolerated. IC is to hold 0 relation to OOC. Harassment of -anyone-, be they guild member, LS member or even a random roleplayer over this, is grounds for a curt dismissal. IC dissent is fine and can be enjoyable. Coming home to OOC dissent is something no one with a proper schedule would ever submit themselves to. Refer to rule #1 on handling any OOC dissent as a result of IC interactions.
3. Respect one another and each other's paths in life. We are all adults here and we all enjoy this hobby. Passion is something I love to see and praise given to such usually makes for a healthier, more creative group overall.
4. Don't ERP in public. Don't ERP in the MAIN FLOOR of the FC House. Take yourself and your partner's pixels somewhere else.
