Okay so this may be odd, may have been answered already, or what have you but I am rather new to this whole thing and am very curious about how people think of this. I have roleplayed for a LONG time but very rarely do I dabble with magic rather than just a good natural sword and board. Of course, the one time I decide to go magically inclined I decide to do it in a game where I cannot tell the difference of each magick so I am here...on my knees...begging you all for your glorious supply of knowledge. What is the difference between aether, magic, and succor? I intend to play a healer of sorts, purely conjurer with some elemental affinities to match but I am curious how that works. For example: What skills does WHM itself carry versus conjurer? Also we have skills like bards flaming arrows, and dragoons using their Dragonfire dive. Are they super charging aether and making a flame or can a skilled magic user simply call fire forth like conjurers do the other elements? What exactly is aether? I know it is in all living things but can you hyper focus aether and create something new? Can only the conjurers manipulate elements wind/water/ such and such? And the last question which is going to seem odd in comparison... what is with the chirurgeons in Ishgard? Are they just a fancy name for conjurers or do they handle differently? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you all so much

This is SUPER helpful information, worded in a way that even my ass could understand. Thank you so much! You really helped me pinpoint an area that feels very nice to start in. I am trying to make the character as grounded as possible, I know people look at the voidsent ideas and scoff 90% of the time and I'd like to hopefully do it in a way that sounds legit and not lore breaky or 'extremely edgy'. Hello everyone~ I am fairly new to FFXIV roleplay and I'm curious about the situation with Voidsent and hunters. I see a lot of void hunters but they don't really go into too much detail about how they do it. What they do, how it affects people, how the void affects people blah blah blah. I was looking into doing a character that essentially at the core is an 'Exorcist' of sorts. Their mobility is limited from a prior injury but they are still decently mobile and able to get around. Just maybe not as quickly as they once did. Very religion oriented, older character. Is it possible to defeat some Voidsent without the use of ( or minimal )direct combat? I know that mentioning Voidsent in Eorzea is taboo to the core, is a job that centers around them also considered taboo? Even if you were to be eradicating them, would that leave people very skeptical about you in general? Is there any large amount of information, canonly about voidsent that has a decent amount of information in it? Is there any large amount of information on voidsent that I personally could read to better understand them? Void- touched ... what is that all about? I see people playing void creatures, demons, a thing of the like is it like being tempered or can you be void touched/ taken over (if they are different things) but return to a normal life with not much trouble after the voidsent is destroyed? Do Voidsent have a certain type of aether that makes them fairly easy to detect usually? I know these are a lot of question and if someone wants to pm me or something I would hardly mind, I don't have the money for the lorebook so if the answer to these are in there sadly I don't have the access to one. Any information that anyone can give me would be great <3 thank you.
