Thank you for letting me join this message board. I do believe I've read all the rules pertaining to this forum but I pre-apologize if I mess up.
So. I am completely new to Final Fantasy - I have never played it before - and the reason why I'm curious is because I'm looking for an online, active community that roleplays in games. A few friends of mine recommended FINAL FANTASY XIV and I've been curious but before I get into all the lore, all the details and all the mechanics, in terms of roleplaying, there's something very specific I'm after. I would like to roleplay as a barmaid and not 'level up' competitively at all. I'm not trolling, haha. I used to do this a lot in WoW, just hanging out in Stormwind as a lvl 20 for two years and serve people drinks while talking to them. It was pretty darn fun!
Is this a thing at all in FF XIV RP-ing community? Can I do this or is it just too frickin weird?
I don't want to shell out a bunch of money and time learning about everything, only to realize there are no bars or that people in the community hates this kind of stuff.
