Thanks!! The hardest part so far has been incorporating emotes and having to type fast! I did have a visual aid but it was a static picture. The other thing is typing up smaller snippets vs long paragraphs it's definitely taking some getting used to! I have gone to/participated in 2 rp events so far. I'm mostly used to getting the basics together and then letting the rp flow tell me the rest but I'm not even 100% sure about like class/job stuff yet. (I am leaning towards free paladin/bsm combo more than anything but really not sure yet.) Yeah this week I've played at work (I've been working the weekend overnight shift so there's not really anyone here to walk in on me playin games.) I really want to draw my character but I picked one of the more complicated armor sets as my base so... I'll get there >> Thanks! Yeah the only thing is I get anxious about is duties bc I play tank. -nervous glances at healer- I'm slowly working on being less shy in rp groups and just jumping in though it's kind of a catch-22. I need to rp to learn more about my character, but I need to know more about my character to feel comfortable rping! But I'll get it figured out eventually!

Hey everyone, nice to meet you! MMORPG background I've played a handful of MMOs for various stints of time but eventually it becomes a grind, or I don't have anyone to play with, or so on. FFXIV is the first MMO I've played where I haven't run into any of the standard issues and I'm excited to continue playing for a long time to come! RP experience I've been RPing off and on for well over 10 years, starting way back in yahoo chatrooms, then to forum-based and now here I am ready to start MMO RPing. I consider myself pretty adept at stepping into the shoes of a character but with a new character there's always a bit of growing pains. I have never RP'd in an MMO before, though I have gone through some games thinking about the type of character the MC is (in games with character creation at least) and how they would go about things etc. Character ideas/info I've only got the one character so far, and he's not entirely fleshed out yet. S'yhan Tia my lvl 55 Miqo'te Paladin. I'm not sure what to do with him mostly, I have some history information but that's about it so far. How did you learn about the coalition? Reddit. I'm in the FFXIV subreddit and I searched for RP information and the RPC popped up! What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) Ideally heavy but I'll likely be starting light-medium until I get more of a handle on the character. Not to mention life doesn't always facilitate the fun things. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) I work in a 24/7 operation so it's not unusual for me to work varying hours day to day, or having to cover odd hours etc, it unfortunately makes planning big things difficult. Aside from that I am re-learning to draw (unfortunately I let myself quit at one point and it's been quite a battle trying to pick it back up again) aside from that I have recently learned how to skateboard!
