Hey folks. I'm looking to get back into the shenanigans, but for a few different reasons I'm not able to join up on Mateus. I know there's a lot of people who pop cross-server to lurk in Balmung, but are there ever active RP FC's outside of Mateus these days? I know discord/linkshells are popular, but from what I recall the actual FC system was used very prominently in most RP groups and I worry that being outside of Mateus will sorta... Narrow my options significantly. Thanks for your time! ♥

This sounds honestly like a self-solving problem. If someone has such an issue with roleplayers RPing as different genders than how they ID IRL, then you probably don't WANT to rp with them in the first place. I, personally, roleplay as an Elezen. Despite me being a squishy potato human IRL. People don't find that odd. If people found it odd, and said I must RP as a human because that's the only way I can truly relate to a character, then I don't want to RP with them. The ONLY justification I can see for people getting so passionate about this is if the cross-gender roleplayer is making a mockery of certain gendered issues. And that's not an RP issue, that's just someone being a jerk.

Hello folks! I'm a new(ish?)returning(ish?) player to FFXIV who's looking to get my feet wet with RP. Technically, this isn't my first foray into this madness, but the first and only time I properly RP'd before was in FFXIV about... 2 years ago. For around a week. Then Real Life (TM) happened. So I'm rusty enough to consider myself a brand new newbie. Looking forward to getting to know some of you, if you have the patience to handle a nubcake who has a tenuous (at best) grasp on the lore. Also, if anyone knows of any RP FC's that are newbie-friendly, please let me know! I have an Elezen character on Balmung named Faevi Faucille who's an aspiring Arcanist and Alchemist with a rather gray moral compass who is in dire need of a source of Gil (ic, of course. not looking to mooch ) or perhaps a place where she can obtain instruction in the art of Arcanima. Regardless, glad to be here. And an early Happy Halloween!
