  1. After hearing a friend talk about how he does RP in other games, I thought I could give it a shot as well. I've read some of the stuff in here made to help newcomers, and I play D&D with my friends so I know how to stay in character and how I should act while RPing. The thing is, that knowledge is useful AFTER I've already started RPing. Now, my problem is, how do I get started? I'll list coiple of questions that hopefully will help explain my problem 1. I'm on Ultros. Is that a problem? I started playing the game about a year ago, and at that time I didnt even know RP was a thing. Looking now, there seems to be very little stuff concerning Ultros on this site, if anything at all since I personally didnt find it. I think it might not be a problem since I can visit other worlds, but I cant join free companies there, and from my point of view, a FC could be an easier way to get into RP. Changing my home world isnt super viable, because A) my country doesnt have its own datacenter so I have to play on the US one, and because of that, pay in dollars, which is too expensive to be justifiable. And B) I really, really dont want to go through the story again just to have access to every area. 2. What kind of character should I even make? This is mostly a personal fear, but I will ask nonetheless. What I mean exactly is, I dont know what kind of characters I will meet, or what kind of activities I would take part in. I assume just a "generic adventurer who wants to adventure" would fit in most ocasions, but I do want write a more interesting backstory and motivations and whatnot. Again, this is mostly personal fear, and I know there isnt one definite solution to this, so I understand it can be dificult to give an answer to that question. 3. I made a character, now what? This is where I'm really stuck on. As I said I'm on Ultros and there doesnt seem to be much action over here. Should I leave my current FC and look for one that focus on RP? Cause I assume that will help, but I dont know if its at all true. I saw that people will hold public RPing events, but that doesnt seem like a good enough place to get started. I'm not confortable with just walking up to a group of people and somehow try to talk to them, while they more than likely are already doing their own stuff So, I think thats more or less it. Hope this can help me get started
