Hello everyone! I'm a long-time FFXIV player who wanted to get into the RP side of things. I've created a new character on Balmung a couple of months ago and so far I really love how full all the city hubs feel with all the bustle. I've been enjoying a replay of the story and, now that I've fulfilled a bunch of my in-game goals, I want to dip my toes into RP.
I'm not new to RP itself. I used to RP on forums a lot, I still very actively play D&D, and I've played a few of MUDs that required you to be in character at all times. However, I've never gotten into RP on an MMO and I'm a little confused on how it all works. How much do you rely on "walk-up" RP? Do you generally find someone through this website / their search info and reach out with a tell first? If you go this route, do you establish in advance what the setup for the RP is and a loose idea of what's happening?
All-in-all I'm really curious on how to start, but I just feel a little lost. Thank you all for your help!
