Hello! I live in the US, but I also work odd hours, which leads me to believe we might have problems meeting. All the same, welcome to Gilgamesh! Sorry you've had trouble with the series - Every Final Fantasy game tends to be very different from one another, and XII wasn't the best received of the collection! As for lore, there are (several) wikis that discuss the world from version 1.0 to this current version, A Realm Reborn. The new development team kept the lore from the previous game, and has picked up the world five years after the events of the Calamity that ended the prior version. There are several places to point a person to teach them about the lore, but the easiest way to learn it is to progress through the main missions. You end up learning quite a bit about the world and the happenings between version 1.0 and now from NPCs who have effectively lived through it. There's enough there that you can understand what's happened without needng an encyclopedic knowledge of events. Also, for a quick Overview of Important Things, there's a nifty timeline thread I found with the Googlez. Anyroad, feel free to add my character to your friends list or send me a /tell, if I'm online, and I'll try to help answer questions you come up with!

I mentioned in another post that Ehki, my character, plays a servant to a wealthy Ul'dahn household. It occurred to me while I was playing that it might be fun to have another player serve as a member or master of this household, and to have that manner of interaction between my character and theirs. With that in mind, here are a few things to think about! - This character can be an existing character or an alt. I have a family written, but I can set it aside in favor of a real player's involvement with their own story. - This character would have a personal history with Ehki. Based on the events in her backstory, they would have met shortly before the Calamity, and therefore he or she probably would not have been present at it. - This character can be either a benevolent keeper who treats Ehki like a member of the family, or a more malevolent one who treats her like property. I roleplay Ehki as someone repaying a substantial debt, and can do that in either situation, as you prefer. Her loyalty comes out of her backstory, which I'd be discussing with anyone who is interested. - It would make the most sense if this character has a strong connection to Ul'dah and Thanalan, as that is where I live IC. With all of that in mind, I'm looking for a player willing to play Ehki's master! Despite the above guidelines, I'm very open to suggestions, and would prefer to play with other humans over making some sort of perfect backstory component for myself. In terms of specifics, race, gender, class and other basic considerations don't matter very strongly. What I'm more interested to know is why your character would have a handservant, what they would use her for, how they would treat her, as well as any long-term developments I/she could be helpful for! Hiya. Brand spanking new member here, returning to the game after leaving 1.0 in 2010. I'm hungry to meet other roleplayers, and would love to get to know some of you! I'm flexible as a player, but I currently have only one character, and she probably plays better with some types over others. I'll spare you a full profile, but here is the quick and the dirty: ----- Ehki Idolmo Miqo'te Female, aged 22 years Resides in Ul'dah Primary Classes: ARC, CUL, CRP, ALC, WVR, BTN, FSH. Ekhi is a displaced Keeper of the Moon who left her tribal community following a personal tragedy, shortly before the Calamity halted the war with Garlemald. As a direct result, she has since become an indentured servant to a wealthy merchant in Ul'dah. Over the last five years, she has learned the etiquette of his home and city. Her background as a hunter, combined with her domestic training as a member of the merchant's household, has turned her into an all-purpose servant who keeps a close watch on the family's children and guests. While she's gifted with the natural talent of an adventurer, Ehki is somewhat crippled by uncertainty and a lack of confidence. The events that carried her to Ul'dah have left her without a true place in the world, and even though she owes her masters her life, she dreams of a day when she'll be free to find some manner of closure for what happened in her past. ----- As a character, Ehki is currently Loyal, Polite, Kind-Hearted, possessing of a Guilty Conscience, Submissive, and Gullible. She would play well with both kind characters who want to help her grow and act on her convictions, as well as with less-noble types who want to take advantage of her servile tendencies. My personal short-term goal for her is to make arrangements IC so that she is partially or wholly free of her obligations to the family in her backstory, so that she can be exposed to the larger world with other players. It's perfectly okay if this takes a long time! I'm used to drawn out stories. In the longer term, once I find a group I'm comfortable developing her with, I'd like to make a plot out of what happened in her childhood, and resolve that over the course of a story arc. As a player, I enjoy long-term stories that involve small to medium sized groups. To me, roleplaying is about giving opportunities as well as taking them, and I'd love to help other characters develop alongside mine. I am ERP friendly, but prefer to do it when it serves a narrative purpose rather than for its own sake. Hello, world! I'm a recently returned player after a many-years hiatus from the much-troubled 1.0, who chose to start anew on Gilgamesh. I play MMOs for roleplay more often than not, and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of the community here! My MMO roleplaying experience started with MUDs in the late 1990s and has since progressed from those to graphical games like Nexus, WoW, Lord of The Rings Online, SW:TOR, APB, TERA, and Guild Wars 2. I also occasionally freeform RP with friends on forums or instant messenger services. I've helped develop plots for guilds and even run one or two on my own, but I think I much prefer to be along for the ride. I consider myself a medium to heavy roleplayer, in that I prefer to be in-character more often than not, but frequently go OOC to do things in-game that my character wouldn't have a reason to do. When in-character, I try to be as lore-concerned and realistic as possible, and I enjoy RP best when the people around me do as well. I'm still learning the lore surrounding FFXIV:ARR and will appreciate any feedback you all have to give! As for me, I am twenty seven years old and currently working for an established financial institution. I have held a lifelong interest in video gaming as a medium and am in the process of planning one (or more) companies focused on the production of games for different demographics.
