Small ninja edit / bump. We've recently promoted someone up to Sergeant, giving us our third officer!
-
Meant to post a bump here before I went on a work trip.. But back from that now, and whilst we've had a fairly quiet January, things are back on track and picking up again! People in the FC have a fair bit planned for next week with events, and I know a few more (Myself included) have some plots in the pipelines that're being worked into event format for the foreseeable future!
-
Small update, recently had some time from work. So dug out some software, and gave the main post a facelift!
-
Meant to post on here over the weekend, but got a little sidetracked with some stuff.. So in some news... We've found our way into ownership of an FC House! http://i.imgur.com/e8ZVHsN.jpg[/img] We're still setting up there, but it's going rather well so far!
-
Update Post: Things are going well! We've since come back down from Whitebrim, and have been around a few different places for events. Our active member count is picking up steadily as well which is a good sign!
-
Update bump! Thing are well into the swing of it now, we're currently sat up in Whitebrim enjoying the snow whilst we do stuff! I've also updated the Leadership section of the main post, to reflect the recent changes, and added our new officer Gailen Lannis to the roster there!
-
Still alive and kicking! Had a brief amount of absence due to some PC troubles that didn't want to end.. But got that fixed and last, so things are back on the road! (Or aim to be very shortly!)

http://i.imgur.com/yKVyowC.png[/img] http://i.imgur.com/4vO8zI6.png[/img] Hallr’s Vanguard, is a Company of Mercenaries founded by Rythiel Rothmoore, and a group of likeminded individuals who formed the backbone of the Company upon its founding. In order to get off of the ground as a Company, they were approached by the Maelstrom, who had need of some Mercenaries they could rely on to take care of issues they might’ve not had the time to do, or the manpower to do so on. This was helped along by the Captains former working relation with the Maelstrom, albeit a rather forced one in its beginning. It had served to prove his mettle to them, which ultimately helped with cementing their assistance. As the Company settles into its being, they continue to welcome other like minded souls who seek to make a living for themselves, the way a Mercenary would. But they’re also always on the look out for Capable healers to assist them afield or after a tough contract. Along with Suppliers who have skills they can offer to the Company's goals. They’ve made their temporary home amongst the denizens of Camp Bronze Lake in Upper La Noscea. Remaining within reach of the Maelstrom who supply a bulk of their work, yet not directly on their front door as to rule out other potential contractors. Yet the location is also a hotspot for Contracts in its own right. With various problems lurking all around in the form of local Wildlife, Beast tribes, and on occasion even Garleans. http://i.imgur.com/f1vwzFX.png[/img] http://i.imgur.com/UeBe8jp.png[/img] The theme of our Company is to function as a group of Mercenaries. We hold our allegiance to ourselves, and whoever might happen to be the one paying us during the contracts we take. Whilst the Company doesn’t consider itself to belong to any City State or work explicitly for one, they do have a well maintained working relationship with the Maelstrom, who played a small role in the Company's founding and also supply a steady stream of contracts. That’s not to say we’ll just take a contract because the pay's good, as whilst we might not be Knights in shining armour who do good out of the good of our hearts.. We’re not exactly evil either. If we don’t agree with the premise of a contract, and what we’d be being asked to do, then we’d simply not take it and find a new contract. http://i.imgur.com/tbIoslU.png[/img] True Neutral, A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. They don't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil-after all, they would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, they’re not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. http://i.imgur.com/tTFPxm0.png[/img] We’re a Heavy RP FC through and through, we embrace realism and mature behaviour / actions into our RP. One such being consequences for your in character actions that’d of course vary depending entirely on said actions! An example of this being we’re not the Warriors of Light, we’re not some renowned Adventurers with a mass of fame and fortune. We’re Mercs! So we’re bound to end up injured from a particularly difficult contract. Now I’m not saying that with with the themes we embrace, everything will be downright grim. We’ll certainly not shy away from those themes on occasion. We certainly won't be trying to sugarcoat things either. We have our preferred RP style as touched upon in the above, and try to maintain quality over quantity. That saying could often be misinterpreted as saying we’d only take in people with years of experience. But I can assure you that isn’t the case, everyone was new at some point, be it to RPing, or simply the Lore of a new game to RP in. We’re here to help each other, and grow our community together! So we’ll gladly do what we can to support those along the way, who are interested in joining us for the ride. http://i.imgur.com/arNEbMl.png[/img] Given the nature of the Company, we’ve gone down the route of a fairly basic, but efficient ranking system. One which allows anyone to progress up the ranking ladder as they prove themselves within the Company! Captain - Leader of the FC Lieutenant - Officer Rank Chief Sergeant - Officer Rank Sergeant - Sub Officer Rank Corporal - Highest non Officer rank Lance Corporal Veteran Private Enlistee OOC AFK http://i.imgur.com/7h2wHvY.png[/img] http://i.imgur.com/FusrfdC.png[/img] So just why us exactly? Well if everything above has you interested, you’ve part of your answer there! We might not be the most longstanding FC around some of the bigger ones ingame, but we’ve a solid and active group of people thus far, and have seen a fair few join our ranks lately after they’d approached us! If you’ve further questions for us, you can contact anyone in the below section, and we’ll gladly do our best to answer whatever questions you have. Or if you’re interested in joining, you can head over to our website and drop in an application! We’ll do our best to respond in a timely fashion (Generally within 24 Hours as a maximum), and leave any feedback we might have there, or contact you ingame for a chat! http://hallrsvanguard.enjin.com/home http://i.imgur.com/UmF4zMB.png[/img] Leader - Rythiel Rothmoore Lieutenant - Gailen Lannis Sergeant - Shayla Maldorf

Next one'll be on the 9th, so this Saturday! To begin with this isn't something I planned on doing every week, rather alternate weekends to your own seaside event so the two aren't conflicting ^^ I'd thought it was on the Calendar.. But I think the auto renewal thing doesn't quite like me D: Edit - Updated the main post with the date for this next one as well! The calendar tried to usurp European authority, I see! The silly thing. Glad to see this'll be regular, though! Aye! Don't see why not to make it a regular thing especially after the turnout we had at the last one! -

Glad to hear that! I'm quite happy with the roll system, tried to find something that seemed fairly balanced since with these type of events a freeform system just won't work.. But amusingly in the initial tests, the win ratio did seem to be more a less 50 : 50. It also seemed basic enough that its quick to pick up, but not too basic, nor too complex in how it works! If you do have any feedback regarding the roll system or the event in general let me know! Currently one thing that was mentioned to me is getting those who're emote fighting, to post their emotes in yell instead so its more visible. I'm also thinking of finding a 3rd overseer so we can run 3 fights at once! -
