At this time due to the majority of Role Players aligning with Limsa Lominsa, it is assumed that the Tavern is present either in or around the La Noscea area. We are still working on some of these details, which is why we will be holding our first formal meeting this Saturday, October 26, to establish some of the details that are currently missing or obscure. As for Jojo, he is currently stationed as a member of the Maelstrom's Foreign Levy at the port in Vesper Bay. He has been self teaching himself pugilism, but he may be looking for a mentor to help him unleash his potential in the martial art. I understand your character might be the one to get him to the right place. =D Thank you for your interest! As it turns out the role players we have that are currently active have actually been a part of this community for some time and decided not to tell me about it. =P So it sounds like we already moving in the right direction. As I am not the only officer, I believe I should arrange to meet with the other officers and make sure we are all on the same page and that we keep each other updated as to what is going on with the role play within the linkshell / FC as well as what we are doing to participate in the community. You mentioned contacting someone to see if I can collaborate with them, but I believe you failed to actually name them. =P Your sentence appears to just skip over where the name should be. Hello, everyone! My name is Mojo Jojo. You can call me Mojo, and my character name is Jojo. I am ready to have a bizarre adventure! (Kudos to those who get the reference) I was invited to Balmung by a RL friend and managed to get my buddies to come with me. We all moved over and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was considered one of the "unofficial RP servers", as my Free Company said. It turned out that our Free Company, Sun Down was looking for someone to help administrate the growing interest of RP. I proved myself to be passionate and knowledgeable that despite being new blood, I was worth giving a shot at running things, so here I am, thrown into the Arena! I am looking to meet with other role players, especially leaders of linkshells and free companies to coordinate role playing events with. Our post for our linkshell can be found here. As the heavy oak door creaks open, you find a room with floors made from the wood of a hickory tree. Loosely arranged tables stand tall and sturdy with orbiting mechanical chairs forming functional, if chaotic seating arrangements. A gentle bit of music fills the room as a small band of Lalafell perform in unison atop the bar. The bartender, a tall robed fellow, smiles and nods to you as you make your way in. This is the tavern of legend, the adventurer's peaceful retreat from the life of danger, the soldier's vacation from their duty to their nation. Welcome to the Sun Down Tavern. Have a drink, and tell a story. Rules: A broad sign hangs above the bar of the tavern, positioned in a way that any patron walking in can clearly see. It appears to be a list of expectations of those who choose to spend their time here. It reads as follows: Be mindful of others. Respect your fellow adventurer. All who step into the tavern are looking for a bit of rest and relaxation from the strife and conflict surrounding our home here in Eorzea. We ask that the peace that exists here be maintained by each and every one of you. Please ask a mod for help when there is a problem. Should you find yourself in a situation where you feel you are being antagonized by a fellow patron, please seek the assistance of the tavern keeper. It is his duty to enforce the rules, not yours. We ask all patrons to refrain from any act of vigilantism. Do not abuse the environment in your actions. Treat the furnishings with respect. The tavern keeper tries to keep his overhead costs to a minimum so that he may continue providing you with free drinks. If you do happen to break something in the tavern, we ask you pay a sum of gil to help repair damages done. Keep it PG-13 at most. Compose yourself in a manner that would be deemed appropriate in the middle of the busy city. While there may not be nearly as many people as a busy trade district, we ask that you not partake in any activities that would be frowned upon to do in the middle of the public. If asked, rooms may be arranged for which you may choose to partake in your private leisure. Keep RP outside of FC chat. While there are many patrons from all walks of life partaking in some rest here at the tavern, not all of them are interested in socializing. If a fellow adventurer doesn't appear to be taking in the their surroundings or paying any mind to the activities going on, please leave them be and let them enjoy themselves. Not every adventurer is looking to socialize, and respect needs to be paid to those who enjoy their solitude. About: Sun Down Tavern is an open membership link shell, meaning all players are welcome regardless of Free Company, Role Play style, etc. The theme is a busy tavern located secluded from the busy city, allowing for a peaceful escape from duty and obligations. (For the time being, the link shell is considered an in-character, in-person representation of attending the tavern. This is subject to change with the introduction of Free Company Housing.) The purpose of this link shell is to provide a fun atmosphere that will encourage camaraderie between people from all walks of life. A member of the Maelstrom might find it beneficial to share information and work together with a member of the Order of the Twin Adder; meanwhile, an adventurer might benefit from having a contact in both Limsa Lominsa and Gridania, so cooperating and offering their services to the two would build their foundation in both nations. Beyond the interaction will fellow Eorzeans, the link shell means to offer Duties by way of the Duty Board. Players will be able to request a duty post that will be reviewed by the moderators of the link shell. If it is deemed appropriate to be posted, it will be posted on the Duty Board below. Duties will be assigned to adventuring parties that show interest. Duties should encourage role play between multiple adventurers in order to provide a fun and immersive experience for the adventurers. Most important, the tavern is a place for you to enjoy yourself.
