RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light to medium. I will always RP when RPed to. I'm usually OOC when out questing or in a dungeon. However, if I'm questing or dungeoning and RP happens, I will join. I'm not so good at initiating RP, but will jump right in if approached. Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm not a big fan of RP combat, but will never refuse if others want to do it. As for injuries, I enjoy RP injuries so long as they are not permanent, such as losing limbs. Death is also out of the question. Scars are fine. Views on IC romance: I generally don't RP characters who fall in love and have active girlfriend/boyfriend/spouses, but I am not against the idea. I'm not sure how good I'd be at getting my characters to hold a relationship. In terms of ERP, I enjoy that, too so long as it remains 100% in character. (I am a male RPing as a female after all) Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I like to establish my own family when creating my characters, but it's not out the question to RP a lost relative or something. Just be sure to ask first before walking up to me and be all like "I'm your long lost sister!" or something. Views on lore: I like to follow the lore to a degree, but at the same time I won't let it restrict my character's history. I'll keep to location names and such, but don't get all fussy if my character's past isn't in perfect timing with lore events. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Say and Emotes should be primary RP chatting. Since Linkshells are actually shown to be used in cutscenes, those are fine, too. Hi there and welcome. I just started playing myself. You can see my intro post just a couple posts down from yours. I'm also playing on Balmung and am quite lost in the world, still learning how to play. Hopefully we can meet up sometime for RP or questing or whatever. I started off on Blackwater Raiders and hopped between a few others before settling on Wyrmrest Accord. And of course I have other characters scattered around all over the place. I'm already tempted to make a Miqo'te. Probably is going to be my first character because of how cute they are. If not, then Hyur will be my second choice.

Hello everyone. I have just decided to try out FFXIV. I haven't actually bought the game yet but I will tomorrow after some much needed sleep. Right after I decided that I would buy it, the first thing I did was research the RP options, so here I am. Although I love RPing in MMOs, I am terrible at finding people to RP with which tends to cause a loss of interest in that game. I am hoping it will be different this time as I join you guys here. MMORPG background My first MMO was way back, starting with Anarchy Online. Here's a list of MMOs that I spent at least a month playing. Anarchy Online Final Fantasy XI World of Warcraft Aion DC Universe Star Trek Online Tera Neverwinter Guild Wars 2 RP experience My first RP experience was in FFXI when one a new party member in my grinding group started RPing in between mob pulls. I thought it was fun and went along with it. Awhile later, in WoW, I met an RPer again who I joined for fun and eventually joined their RP guild. It was a short lived guild, but ever since, any MMO I play I try to get into RP servers and find a guild, as long as they aren't too heavy. Character ideas/info I have 3 main character templates I use in every game, plus a few side characters, depending on classes available in each game. I will be creating one or all three of these characters once I begin playing. Riuka: Goth/Emo styled rogue/assassin/mercenary. Pretty quiet and selfish/greedy. Surora: Tough, Iron willed Warrior-ish class. Strives to be the top of her game and beat her rivals in all things. Zyleria: Lawful evil, fire-based mage/sorceress. Has an almost uncontrollable lust for political power. --How did you learn about the coalition? Good ol' Google search for "Final Fantasy XIV Roleplay" --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I want to consider myself a medium RPer although sometimes it tends to be light. For example, when I am out in the world questing, that is questing time. I only RP if RPed to first. However, when not questing, I devote plenty of time looking around for RPers(most of the time unsuccessfully) to RP with. I'm generally too shy to initiate RP, but if somebody else initiates, then I'm golden. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? I am male IRL but I almost exclusively play/RP female characters in every game that gives me a choice. This includes single player games, (Skyrim, Mass Effect, Pokemon, etc.) and non-MMOs (Diablo III, Minecraft, Saints Row, etc.)
