I'm in love with the fact that its 'Goodbye Serena and Darien and hello Usagi and Mamoru' for the name changes really did confuse the hell out of me once I started getting older and realized theres something called 'The internet'. I'm also super happy the Neptune and Uranus are no longer cousins and they're back to being lovers. I also love how everything that was considered 'bad' in the original japanese stays when its re-dubbed. Like the simple things like boob lines during transformations. Yeah-- I think I'm going to stay out of the PvP part of the RP and just sit back and watch to see how it goes.

I understand the who what they say goes and I do know that a 3rd party can judge who wins in the PvP, just what really kind of upset me was the way they made it out to be like. They basically made it sound like they get to say what attacks land and do damage and what attacks are evaded and so forth-- which really I thing can halt a role-play or slow it down a lot (which i feel has a high possibility of dying out). And even if 2 people decide that they want one character to win or it to be a tie or something-- They don't even get the say so.

Hi Hi! I'm a bit new to rping in the world of FFXIV soooooo I'm kind of looking for a mentor here. I am a very experienced role player, especially in lit. but I always feel a bit awkward and shy about the 'settings' I guess you could say, that I'm not really experienced with-- Well, I'm very experienced with Fantasy Rping but when it comes down to all the lore/history of XIV I feel really awkward since I'm not well experienced. I don't want to just jump right out there and make myself look like an idiot... Not to mention I don't even know where to start. Since I'm pretty person awkward-- Even though my characters may not be, It's still a bit heard for me to just jump into things head first. You know what I mean? I like to role play in styles of 1x1 to medium to large groups (as long as everyone's on the same page and doesn't jumble up everything) I can handle different stories going on at once with my character (and I even make sure to refer to another story while in one unless certain circumstances like it happened in the past of something) I usually try to long on every day. So, I havent been on this site for long--If you haven't noticed-- And I'm not entirely sure if this is the right spot that I should be posting this so forgive me if it does happen to be the wrong spot. Anyways, My FC is starting to set up a semi-rp thing of our page (cause they're so not a RP FC). Right now were setting up the rules. After submitting some, the admin thats decided to go with the idea of trying a little bit of "forum gaming" (as they call it), my rule of "Don't use other character's without their permission. Never kill, harm, pair, etc. other's characters without their permission." got shot down with the response of "PvP will be a moderated thing, regardless of whether they decide on what happens before hand or not. This ensure's fairness from a third party that isn't biased in any direction for either player" As an experienced Rp-er, I am really confused as to how that will go down or if it's really even possible to do-- How do you even...? I'd like to know what you guys think about this cause I sent a reply stating how I think wouldn't work out and that it shouldn't be like that. Doesn't seem like it's someone else telling your character what to do?

Sooooooo I've been playing XIV almost a month now and I and really starting to itch to rp. As someone who plays on Balmung, I happen to pass by it quite often and sometimes find myself caught up in watching. To start things off, I figure I will tell you a little bit about myself in the real world. I'm 18 years old (Turned 18 back on Dec. 20), female, and jobless. (I'M WORKING ON THAT). I also have a boyfriend who is paying for my subscription. I'm still in high school but home schooled. I was going to graduate this year but due to certain financial and medical cercumstances, my mother and I have come to an agreement to flunk this year and graduate next year. (I wont write it now cause its a long story but if your interest feel free to ask! I'm an open book! haha) When I do graduate, I want to eventually make it into collage for visual game desgin (I have found a couple collages that over game design as 2 majors-- The 3D modeling part and the visual artsy part. I plan to go for the artsy one.) My dream is to actually one day be employed at SE. I come from Ohio, USA. And I've played FF games ever since I can remember. I'm pretty savy in MMOs, since I've been playing them for a little over 5 years (I'm 18 years old now so since I was like 13?). There are many titles I've played but right now the longest standing and the ones I spent the most of my time into was Dragon Nest and Phantasy Star Online 2 (both free to play.) Since both of those have very fast-paced combat, XIV is quite the change for me. As for my role-play experience-- It goes much father back than my gaming days. I have been a literate styled role player since I was roughly the age of 9 or 10. I spent most of my years using GaiaOnline but moved to DeviantART back in December (since I'm also an artist and stories tend to die off to easily on Gaia when it comes to multi paragraph lit.) I am still currently in a very active RP group on DA that was actually based around a combination of a fantasy based world (i see a lot of FF in it but ehhh, no one ever really mentions it lol) and MMORPG games (mostily Aion and Blade and Soul from what I was told). I am still trying to get myself together with things as to rping in the world of XIV. It's a bit new to me so It's going to take me a while to start to get things right (Give it about 4 or 5 rps maybe less.) If you do decide to rp with me in the future, I'll let you know now, I'm not a fan of script role playing since I tend to make my character go a bit OOC from time to time and most defiantly prefer lit. Depending on what is given to be I can write as up to 2 to 8 paragraphs at a time. I usually tend to write what is given to me. i.e. You write 1 paragraph most likely I'll write one paragraph. Now as for character I've thought more into personality rather than a back story due to my lack of XIV rping experience. As I grow more comfortable with rping in the realm of XIV the back story will come to me. Hahaha. I was thinking: Canaan is a keeper of the moon miqo'te who generally an extremely kind heart-ed with a complex of "I will save everyone." Friend or foe, he does not like to see anyone hurt and is willing to risk his very life to protect them. During battle, upon facing a tough enemy, he is generally as serious as he can get-- aside from that, Canaan will generally fight in combat almost as if he is playing with his enemy. He acts almost exactly the same outside of battle with a playful, happy go lucky attitude about life. At first meeting, one would think the male would be quite shy, keeping only to himself. Once one gets to know them though, he transforms into the playful Canaan as previously described. He can be a very touchy feel-y guy who likes to give people hugs and what not. ^^^ Though thats just a base idea for him. I also don't know what it means to be a light, medium or heavy role player but I like to be an active role-payer either every day or most of the week Wow... This much longer than I expected it to be.
