It is strange being back. When you are gone for 3 months nothing has enough time to change so much that you do not recognize it any more. Everything does have enough time to change just enough that you notice. Mia's hair is different. Aesyra's hair is different. Remi seems much more distant. Sindl is gone. X'havir is around the hall a lot more. Kai'ir seems to be more grounded. That last one might just be my imagination. The beds are now downstairs and the table is upstairs. The office has shifted around slightly. The piano is on the wrong side of the room. Everything seems less warm. Like a meal left on the counter and forgotten. Maybe its not the hall, maybe it is me. Maybe the chairs, and the piano, and the hair are all just things and what has changed is me. Not enough that I don't recognize myself, just enough that I notice.
