Though a gifted student, his sudden departure to delve further into the fields of anatomy and medicine left many bewildered, given the superior healing offered by aether and the lad's own talent in the field. Now calling himself a physician, Tal offers his services to anyone who asks for them, friend or foe, and often falls into verbal clashes with the Maelstrom as a result. He requests only what can be spared as payment, the gil being spent securing the rarer plants he needs for his aether-free remedies. He has recently taken to sailing with a group of questionable privateers when needing to travel to the continent for supplies.
