/yawn I'm awake! I was wondering if we could get a forum thread started on site made for past experience within guilds and what we would like to offer this one? A place to throw about ideas? I'm not meaning the average "I've led super awesome raid guilds." but rather what someone has creatively brought to a guild or wanted to bring to a guild. /edit : another way of saying I can't wait to see this develop!!

Same! I wouldn't be able to join yet. ; ; It would be something like this. 'A white mage is standing just barely out of sight however the facial features and hair color are missing. You might respond with something like this. 'You are unsure of what this means and do not wish to ponder it any longer....'

I just got to read everything. It sounds amazing and intelligently designed with even a hint of checks/balances. Put me down officially. Three days ago I was unsure if I would find my fit in a heavy rp guild. Today I've found my guild already? I am so happy right now. (I'm not positive if I'll stay Cosette as name!) Hyur Female - White Mage -Definitely would fit into warden branch. I can edit post later with more info.

It's awesome you came from XI!! As I went on to other mmo's I rarely met people from FFXI. Or I would get two responses "What's that?" and "boring game, quit before level 10". /cry edit: err late response.

I've never used skype before. Is that not typing? ...bringing me to my next big question that seems great to post here! How common is roleplaying through voice chatting and mics in game? I'm pretty attached to my keyboard (even for ooc). ??? (p.s. I must read what Eva has written!) I can't wait to start reading all the stories about.

I've been browsing the linkshell thread for a few days and I'm interested in your idea. You've almost sold me as a leader on how fast you got that idea 'to the page'. Will linkshell chat be IC? I cant wait for more info on what you are thinking about. Moonfire basically summed up what I want in a guild as well. I'm pretty much always a healer in games whether im rp or not. I wish I had known about roleplaying in FFXI but I did not. I was a white mage there for years. I'll be right back to this thread after lunch. I'm really interested in finding a great rp guild.

I've gotta get off this thread (and site) or I'll never get breakfast/lunch. Another option is to take group guitar lessons for a semester or two that you can often find at university and sometimes at community colleges. The cost is often less when you divide it out over the 4 month semester and the social aspect is great to learn with others. And! You can often find private instruction available through a college that once again is often less expensive. ok I'm running away from this thread today. Still gotta post my intro... and eat and work later.!

That video is amazing! I've gotta add his pieces to my (way too long list of files and files and files and...etc) music list! I would never discount that man's advice lol. Keep me updated badlandsjohn! and let me know if that music theory site helps you out in your progress in the next couple weeks!! I really am interested how you get along. It's not everywhere you get to hear the harmonica.

Major props! I want your superpower. /grovel "I'm not worthy!" The only other instrument (aside from guitar) I've played to any extent was an alto sax. I am totally not a serious musician, but I want to be, not professionally, but just able to jam either side of the spectrum (rock --- folk/ballads/whatnot). I got me a couple books of sheet music of various genres, as well as printed out more. Don't worry. The key to being a serious musician isn't in how many instruments you play or even your current level. Being serious on an instrument is the willingness to practice and willingness to seek the knowledge on playing correctly. The key to success on instruments is having a good teacher so that bad technique does not hinder your future success on an instrument. Without a good foundation, advancing in music is impossible and causes later frustration. And if anyone about has interests in composing their own music or developing the ability to play what you hear/write down on sheet music what you hear : Music Theory is the key to all of that. Perhaps surprising to some, music theory is what helps you play advanced music as well. ---- Keep up the practice you all. I'll definitely want to arrange ffxiv music for different instruments. In today's world, people from different locations can record their part and then it can be put together. I find that fascinating. Thanks for the encouragement! Starting out, I watched a legendary blues harmonica player, Adam Gussow, on Youtube. He's made hundreds of videos "giving everything he's learned". So I did kinda have a teacher. I ain't too shabby, but it's always an uphill battle! I've "mastered" one jig so far. What I need to work on is reading notes and tempo stuff, unless I can find a recording of it! This should make everything a whole lot easier! Click lessons tab at top. You can even get their phone app to practice music theory where ever you are waiting around at. http://www.musictheory.net/

I would probably be classified as a serious musician. My main instrument is piano and harpsichord. (And voice) Secondary instruments are viola and flute. I played around on guitar and really liked it but I have to put that on the back burner while I focus my energies on piano and harpsichord.

Your boyfriend sounds similar to my dad when it comes to movies. There's just some connection in the brain malfunctioning apparently My dad doesn't 'get' any movie that has something deeper going on than what is actually on the screen at the moment.

(It is so odd that I'm posting my first post here but I just saw the thread title on the side of page.) I recently watched Cloud Atlas about 2 weeks ago! I also found it to be amazing and I want to read the book now. I was very surprised at how many stories came together in one movie. I was drawn in by the movie personally and even felt a bit mentally drained afterwards. There were a lot of emotions involved. I want to watch the movie again but I'm planning to wait a bit. The scene/word that still stands out and bothers me is - soap -
