Aoelus'a - The Distance From Sanity ((On going journal))
Ririn'to replied to Ririn'to's topic in Town Square (IC)
"Wh...what the fuck..." Were the words that escaped the Miqo'te's lips while he watched the scene below. Moments prior he had pulled down the wooden switch and gazed deep into the goggles of the man willing to drill into him while doors slowly opened downstairs. The misunderstanding part, though, was what was to come out of those doors. Butterflies...it was butterflies. Small winged insects fluttered out of the doorways but the hundreds, and the most disturbing part was the scientist's reaction. "Noooo!" The scientist screamed, falling to his knees and flailing his arms about wildly. "You inconceivable monster!" Aoelus'a could not speak after watching the scene in motion. Arluck danced about in the field of butterflies while the scientist screamed for his life. The irrational fear of the goggled Hyur who wanted to extract a whole sternum was too far gone for Aoelus'a to understand. Watching a moment longer he turned, pushing the door open and climbing down the stairs. Moving passed the large open room filled with color insects he walked right by the both of them. He paid little attention to them as both were preoccupied with the butterflies in their own way. Moving outside he had scanned the area after gaining some distance from the normal looking building he had left. The area was lush and filled with trees. The sights not entirely foreign to him and he smiled. "We are but a few minutes from Gridania." He exclaimed with a small smile while noticing his surroundings. Hills covered the area largely and frequently, almost surrounded as he was by them. Taking a moment to sigh he began climbing the first one straight from the exit of the lab. Halfway up it dawned on him. "I need a weapon." -
Aoelus'a - The Distance From Sanity ((On going journal))

A groggy haze came over Aoelus'a, his eyes barely opening and only a blur overtook his vision. A force pushed at the top of his head, starting at his forehead and pulling to the back of his head. His ears twitched and shifted back with each touch and it was still a few moments later before he registered what was happening. He lied on a reclined table, lights beaming in his face and it took the Moon keeper even longer to register his vision properly. His eyes attempting to open, but wincing at each time the pressure repeated itself on his head. He finally caught vision of what was happening and a frown overtook his lips. "Good kitty!" It was the Roegadyn, his large hand resting on the Miqo'te's head before pulling all the way back, petting him harshly. "What a soft kitty!" The Roegadyn was not gently with the petting, and it took a few seconds before Aoelus'a glared up to him in-between the pets. "Don't...touch...me..." The large man looked down, his smile widening as he heard the feline speak. "Kitty! You're awake! Boss! Kitty is awake!" His head turned and he stood up. Aoelus'a was glad at least that the petting had stopped. He shook his head a moment to re-adjust his hair, though the significance of looking spiffy here was quite low. A voice rang out from the other room, echoing along the walls. "Perfect! The tests can begin! I'll be there in just a second!" The voice wasn't hard to to connect to an owner, considering it felt like just seconds since their last meeting to Aoelus'a. A second later a drill was heard from from the other room, followed by a small cackle. "Hahaha...yes..that'll go through nicely!" Eyes widening the Miqo'te started to look around. His vision still blurring the only thing he could see was the largest thing there, the Roegadyn. "Pssst, hey! ...Hey!" He began pulling at the restraints and whispering loudly, hoping to only catch the attention of the large brute. Fortunately the large man turning around, giving off only a slightly confused exhale. Aoelus'a continued talking to him quietly. "Do you enjoy Petting kitty?" "Yes! Yes!" The brute began to clap. "Arluck loves soft kitty!" Aoelus'a winced in agitation, scowling but shaking his head and trying to pull off a helpless look. "Listen, Arluck. That man you work for wants to hurt kitty." Arluck shrugged with a saddened whimper. "Yeah...but boss says It'll be fun. I'm going to miss kitty..." Aoelus'a's expression deepened with worry. "But...wouldn't it be more fun to pet kitty all the time? When he's done with me, you'll never have any kitties to pet, ever again. Never." Arluck's face twisted, confusion taking over as he suddenly became visibly conflicted. "Let kitty go, and you can pet kitty as much as you want." Arluck looked to him, then to the doorway, hearing the drill go off again. Turning back to the Miqo'te he looked genuinely sad. "As much as Arluck wants?P-..promise?" A small guilty frown came over Aoelus'a's lips before hearing the drill once more, shaking his head and looking to the man. "Kitty promises! Just hurry!" A moment passed by as the Roegadyn began to pace. "But boss will...I'll...I want to pet.." A loud huff came passed his lips as he rushed to Aoelus'a side, unstrapping his wrists and ankles. Aoelus'a quickly rose and started to run, but stopped and turned to the massive man. The sky-scraper of a man was watching him without moving, his eyes watering. Sighing Aoelus'a moved back to the Roegadyn and leaned his head forward. "Yaaaay!" Echoed out the towering man's lips as he pet Aoelus'a one more time, instantly picking him up to hug him tight. A noise blurted from the Feline-man's mouth as his bones were nearly crushed. Once let go he gave a small wave and a comforted smirk. "What the hell is going on out ther-" The lab-coated man walked through the doorway, stopping instantly as he saw Aoelus'a waving to him with a sinister smile as he ran out of the the room. Arluck was waving as well, but to Aoelus'a and with a gigantic smile. The scientist dropped a tray full of stuff, drills and glass hit the ground, most of the equipment breaking on impact. Shifting around corners Aoelus'a sprinted through the many rooms the labs had consisted itself of. Reaching to a room that held a brighter light at the end he sprinted harder, only to be stopped by two figures. Both the mad scientist and the Roegadyn stood in his path. Staring at the two with utmost confusion words finally expressed themselves in the most gentle way the Miqo'te could muster. "How the fucking-fuck did you do that?" The scientist laughed, pushing at the wall beside him. It spun and led directly to the room that Aoelus'a had started in. Arluck looked to the both of them, but said nothing, an expression of sorrow on his face. "Fear me, mortal!" The scientist bellowed. He held out a book and the pages flipped wildly. A light chained itself from the book to his extended hand, pointing right at Aoelus'a. The light grew brighter, the chain slowly pointing out from his gloved palm. He laughed maniacally as the small chain turned to a ball, the brightness blinding before it was stopped entirely. Arluck had gripped the scientist with a bear hug, looking to Aoelus'a. "Eradinamicate!" Aoelus'a only stood there for a moment, staring at the burly man. "...What?" Arluck motioned his face to the stairs next to Aoelus'a, calling out again as he fought the wiggling scientist. "Go! Stairs! Eradmaticate!" Aoelus'a turned to the stairs, shrugging and quickly climbing them. The room he entered was a walled off balcony, looking over the room that the other two were in. A window peered through the concrete wall that watched over the other two. To the middle he saw a wooden switch. It was the only thing in the room besides a note underneath it. The note read in all capitals "ERADICATE". Aoelus'a stared at it for a moment a smirk overcoming his lips. His fangs bore themselves more as his demonic voice slid from his teeth. "Oh...oh yes..." -

"No...yes......No.." The Miqo'te walked down the road, his hands pocketed inside his crossed arms. Taking a few steps further he began to speak out loud more, with no obvious target for his words. "No...wait! ...No again." He smiled, his fangs poking out harmlessly over his lower lip as he turned around to look at the building he had made distance from. The breeze offered comfort, even in the colder embrace of the night. The lighting of the area was poor, buildings were blackened out and road lights were few and far between. Tilting his head up the armored Miqo'te straightened his face at the sight of the equally dimly lit structure. "Ambrosia.." He started to scowl as he peered to the door as best he could from the distance. His face softened though and his scowl turned a guilty frown as he looked over the rest of the structure's features. His eyebrow suddenly furrowed and he turned around, waving a a hand in front of his face in an agitated fashion, the lance he armed himself with dangled on his back. "Yeah, yeah, I know. You -have- to be right, don't you?" Turning his shoulders around he once more continued down the poorly visible road. His eyes searched the ground as his lips were curled down in a mustered state of sadness. A toothpick dangled lightly between his lips and his fangs after he remembered he had taken one to chew on. His pupiless eyes watched the ground and moved about frantically, as if he was spending more time thinking - or arguing, than watching where he was going. He stayed unattentive to his surroundings as his face shifted as if he was listening to someone speak. His ears, however, did not twitch or flutter as they usually did. He ceased movement a moment later, looking up to nothing and no one, but speaking allowed. His white eye swirled with a darkness and he spoke in a much more demonic voice. "Shut up right now, you have no business...you..." His eyes began to water and whiten with color as his fists clenched to his sides. "Don't bring her up! Shut up! Shut up!" If anyone was watching, they would see the suffering man hit himself in the head with the smaller knuckles on both fist. He stopped after a moment, shaking his head, panting for breath as his eyes swirled between the two colors constantly until balancing out to his usual look- white and black. Taking a moment the settled man would wipe a sleeve across his face, careful to not drag any metal or spikes across his eyes. "Quit being an idiot, we're going to go see her if you'd calm down for 5 minutes. You look crazy." He couldn't help but take amusement in himself, chuckling momentarily before stopping quickly, his ears fluttering 3 times in quick succession like a butterfly; he was stopped by a voice not in his head. "Crazy is just the word I was looking for." Aoelus'a turned around, peering at the man who spoke out. He was a shorter Hyur man with spiked brown hair, though it seems as if it was that way from smoke or dirt than it was styled. He wore thick goggles over his face and his grin was wide. He dawned cloth robes, white as if he was trying to mimic a lab-coat but failed miserably. Kneeling down the unusual Hyur man spoke with a raspy and older sounding voice. He held out a small amount of food low the the ground as he tried to beckon Aoelus'a over. "Heeerree kitty kitty...tch tch tch...kiiiiittyy." Aoelus'a scowled and gripped his lance over his right shoulder. "Yup, you have a one-in-one chance of fucking dying after that, old man." Before he could fully unsheathe his weapon, the Hyur man pointed behind him and called out. "Now, Arluck! Flip the switch!" Turning around Aoelus'a would see an enormous figure; a Roegadyn male even bigger than natural size. He held a switch in the palm of his hand, much too small in proportion to his palm. Taking a finger he lightly pressed against the switch. "Sorry, kitty." Was all he said as he flipped it; the switch connected itself to wires that ran off of Aoelus'a vision. He quickly followed to what they were only to realize they led to a normal wooden barrel. "What was that supposed to-" He turned his head to look at the switch again but was stopped. The large Roegadyn had used the time to walk up to him and punch the side of his head pretty hard, instantly knocking the Miqo'te to the ground. His vision faded to black as he only heard voices before losing consciousness. "Boss...I still don't see why we needed da' switch. I could of just of punching him from start?" "Because I'm the scientist, Arluck. Not shut up and grab his body. This will much more fun with a crazy kitty." -
Aoelus'a - The Distance From Sanity ((On going journal))

The grip on the bare neck tightened, gloved hands reached to hold the wrist of the aggressor weakly. "You hold no chance, Aoelus'a. Nothing will stop the Primal." The Roegadyn's attacker bore teeth in a smile, his Miqo'te eyes covered by longer bangs of dark red with white highlights. Though she was choking the female Roegadyn gave out a smirk, the light in her eyes was fading quickly. "You can protect your other... but who will protect you?" The head of the Miqo'te lifted enough to reveal his face. His amused face was gone as his eyes peered into her, shifting and swirling one consumed even the pupil in pure white, the other pure black. Both searched her and held no more appeal than endless voids. His fangs poked out from under his upper lip and held over his lower lip constantly without need to bare them. Holding her neck with one arm his voice slid out from his lips with a darkness like an unwanted demon's; corruption with a want for purity. "No one. Only this one needs it." He spoke as his fingers tightened, the metal of his armor shifting with his movements and only muffled slightly by the sounds of the bones inside the woman's neck cracking. She gave off no sound as her strength waned until she dangled helple- "Woah woah woah woah woah." "What?" "You're telling me that not only did he chase after to fight a primal -by himself-, but he lifted up a Roegadyn and choked her and snapped her neck with one hand." Two Hyur and a Miqo'te males sat around a table, cards in hand and beer bottles between them. Each were armored well enough and kept their weapons laying against the table. "I'm telling you that's what happened." The Highlander Hyur spoke loudly as he looked to the others. "Buuuuulllshiiiit." The Miqo'te spoke, intoxicated as he shook his head. "The boss is weird, but he's not strong or anything like that. He gives Miqo'te a bad name walking around acting like he's so cold. I bet he's a fluffy little puppy on the inside." "You mean kitty." "What?" "He's a Miqo'te...so you mean fluffy little kitty." The Miqo'te shook his head again. "No, he weirds me out. I am going to think of him as a dog until he doesn't frighten me." The Midlander took a swig from his bottle and looked at the other two, smirking and blushing in early intoxication. "And what's up with the way he speaks? Who the hell is 'this one'? And 'the third'?" He snorted in a small laughter. "I think he carries around mice or something." The Highlander nodded slowly. "Yeah, he talks in the third person...or that's what it sounds like... it's fucking weird." "You know what else is pretty weird?" The three turned around to the noise; an armored Miqo'te stood behind them with his arms crossed, his lips curled down in an un-amused look. "When I tell three idiots to guard the entrance when I say I'll be back later to check something out. They instead get 3 beers each and are playing cards before I even left and commence talking about their boss behind his back." The standing Miqo'te leaned forward and turned like a crane to turn to each, stopping at the Midlander. His hands held each other behind his back. His gaze into each offered the thought of oblivion as his eyes were as described in the Hyur's story. The three men stood up quickly saluting and shaking. A-A-A-Aoelus'a..ss-s-s-sir!" The largest spoke out in his salute. They stood there momentarily in silence as Aoelus'a's pupiless eyes searched the three, his frown deepening as the seconds rolled on without noise. "GET MOVING" He screamed at the guards, his hands to his sides now in fists. "Or we'll be playing Go-Fish with your LIVES!" He looked to the other Miqo'te, his glare hard to make out without vision of any eyes besides voids, but much too easy to piece together that he wasn't happy. "I think you'll enjoy it the most, little fluffy kitty." The three moved out of he room quickly, making sure to grab their weapons before heading out. The Midlander leaned back into the doorway, looking to Aoelus'a. "Hey...boss?" "What?" "Have you ever chased after and fought a primal...and could you pick up a Roegadyn with one arm?" Aoelus'a looked to him for a second, then turning his surprised gaze at his own bicep. He was certainly muscular, but not overly big for his race and would never be able to pick up something that big with one hand. His wide-eyed stare shifted back to the Hyur slowly before speaking softly in his demonic voice. "You're an absolute idiot, Rourrick. Get out of here before I catch your stupidity." The Hyur blushed and half-saluted before leaving. Aoelus'a sighed as he looked down; he crossed his arms again and closed his eyes. "Hey, Aoelus'a, you should be head-of-security for Ambrosia. It'll be fun, Aoelus'a... and you'll be able to protect people like you allllwaaays wanted." He inhaled deeply and exhaled the same as he picked up an un-opened beer on the table the others sat at and popped it open, drinking quickly from it. "Fuck you, Aoelus'a. How can the original voice inside my own head have such shitty ideas?" -
“Mmm!”a hum came from her lips as a spoon returned from her mouth, empty. “I really like it, daddy!” The child of an Hyur female sat in a high chair, her face bright as a small giggle escaped her lips. “I am glad, Ayreina, I was hoping you’d like it.” A gloved hand placed itself on the small child’s black hair, rubbing it gently. The child looked up, smiling as her hands reached towards the person she spoke to and her fingers grabbing at the air. “Can I play with your hair, daddy?” “Hm.”The person that spoke leaned down, kneeling low enough to bring his hair in reach of her hands. His voice was soft and far from deep. He sounded like a child himself, or no older than 17. He was nothing like the Hyur, he was a Miqo’te. Fangs poked from his lips and hung barely down over his lower lip. The slightly ashy skinned felinesmiled as the young one gripped the long bangs of his hair. His head dawned hair pure red, but the bottom rimmed with a white highlight. His eyes peered to her, almost smiling as visibly as his lips were. He watched the child tug on his hair and giggling, but stopping to look at him with a smile and patting his face. “Why is your eyes all different-y, daddy?” She spoke the truth, and his amusement remained while he grasped her hand lightly with two fingers. One of his eyes was purely white, the other pure black. They showed no visible pupils and each offered the comfort of looking into two opposite but seemingly-endless voids. “Because daddy is very weird, Ayreina.” He spoke as he leaned forward to kiss her forehead. “Now finish your dinner.” The little girl, instead of eating, leaned in to wrap her small arms around his neck as best she could. “I love you, daddy, even if you’re not my real daddy. You’re still the best daddy.” Taken back a little the Miqo’te’s eyes widened at the statement, but warmed quickly as his eyelids closed, rubbing his cheek against hers. “I love you too, Ayreina. Very much….now please eat, it’ll get cold.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Oh by the gods, dad, I cannot believe you remember that.” The two walked down the streets of Gridania, Ayreina much older, 14 years old now. “And stop smiling like that!” The Teenager said with a blush on her pale cheeks. The Miqo’te walked beside her, one hand carrying a large sack over his shoulder. He turned to look at her to smile widely while moving. “I can’t help it, Ayreina, it was my favorite moment.” The girl beside him sighed, keeping pace and blushing still, looking as though she wanted to take off running. “You’re hopeless, dad.” He looked up and her face brightened. “You’re still weird. So there’s that.” A chuckle left the feline’s lips, his free hand forming a fist over his mouth, his pupiless eyes trailing to half watch where he was walking. “I probably always will. Whether that’s good for you or not I have yet to find out.” He was stopped by a force at his side, his eyes looking forward still with a surprise before looking down to what was against him. Ayreina was wrapped around his stomach, short for her age and her face buried against his ribs. “Don’t ever say that again.” “D-…don’t say what, Ayreina?” “Don’t ever say you might not be good for me…you..” The Miqo’te placed a hand on her head, smiling. “Ayeina…” “No!” She interrupted, her face blushing and showing an angry embarrassment, though pressed against his clothes. “You’re not my real dad, Aoelus’a…But I don’t want anyone else to be my dad, either. You…you didn’t have to take me in, when I was abandoned. You didn’t have to take care of me and treat me like a real daughter, even though we are not the same.” Her face released itself from his side and looked up to him, tears rolling from her eyes. “Don’t ever think that I want anyone else in my life. I love you, Dad.” Aoelus’a watched for a moment in a stun. A few seconds later his face softened and he placed the bag on the ground, moving his arms to return her hug and his feline ear lowered to a horizontal line in the show of the affection. “I love you too, Ayreina. …and I would never want anyone else in my life either. I am very glad I found you. You’re better than anything else anyone would ask for in a daughter.” Releasingherself entirely from the hug she wiped her eyes in her sleeve, looking around. “No more mushy stuff, Aoelus’a.” Her blush deepened as she began to walk at a quickened pace. “A-a-and don’t think you’ll get more moments like that! Now c’mon! We need to get to the guild!” She started to run off, her embarrassment changed to a huff, then to a brightened child playing tag as she turned the corner. Aoelus’a shook his head, smiling and wiping his eyes too. Picking up the sack and starting to move he made his way to the Lancer’s Guild. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walking inside Ayreina was already talking to the clerk, her face bright as laughing some distance away from the door. The clerk looked to the Miqo’te walking in and waved him over. “Aoelus’a! You’re back! Ayreina tells me you were successful?” Moving forward the smiling feline placed the sack on the counter and the clerk looked inside. “Great job! This is the beast, alright.” The Elderly Roegadyn man stroked his beared as he turned to the teenager beside him. “And I’ll assume you did all the work, Ayreina?” The girl laughed and pointed to herself with a thumb. “Yup! Dad’s getting old so I had to make sure he was safe.” She looked to Aoelus’a and stuck out her tongue. The Miqo’te chuckled and rolled his shoulder, the metal of his gear clanking together. “What can I say?” He started, looking to his adopted daughter. “24 is old. Just you wait, young lady, you’ll be creaky like me real soon.” The clerk waved his hands in the air. “Alright Alright! You don’t need to remind me how ancient I am –every- time you come in here. Here’s your pay.” He smirked and slid a bag of Gil to the Miqo’te and waved to them both as they left. “Stay safe out there!” “Dad! Dad!” Ayreina began to jump in front of Aoelus’a and waving her arms widely. “Dad! We should get ice cream! We have time before our next job. Wouldn’t that be fun?” Waiting a moment she looked to him with a cute face, pulling her lips in and smiling to the Miqo’te. Aoelus’a raised an eyebrow in silence, an act he knew was ultimately futile. Sighing he looked down, “Yes, alright, Ayreina.” “Yaaaay!” She jumped one more time before moving off to the ice cream shop. Reaching a hand out he saw her get smaller as she made distance. “N-n-..wait! I have the money still!” He shouted before smiling and running off after her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ They sat on a hill, far from civilization it seemed for Gridania was not in sight. They both held a cone of ice cream…well…she held two. The breeze kept them at piece, not making much sound apart from the noise of slurping quick-to-melt ice cream. Taking a moment she looked up to Aoelus’a with a smile. “Dad…can you tell me about how you found me?” He stopped a moment, looking to his chocolate ice cream drip lightly down the side of the cone before looking to her. “Are…are you sure you want to hear that story?” She nodded her head before giggling. “Why not? I didn’t realize it had a sad ending? Do we both die on page two?” Hesmiled and nodded. “Well…almost did.” Sighed he took a large lick of his ice cream to maintain it before starting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The streets of Gridania at night held enough light to keep the visibility up, though only if you keep to the main paths. Aoelus’a moved down a well-lit area, 16 years old and holding a paper bag full of food. He chose to move along the grassy-rock wall, it offered lamps of light and he preferred to be in an area he could be ready for anything in. He was still somewhat new to the lancer’s guild, his chest and legs dawning the recruit’s gear and still unable to wield a weapon. They gave him enough pay to sustain himself, food, a small one-room wooden house just inside the forest. He couldn’t complain, he had gone far since he was a child and was only going to become better. Moving along the wall a few men passed by, laughing and caring little for the presence of others. Pushing Aoelus’a aside and laughing more as the aggression on the young feline found no reaction, besides frowning and making sure his groceries stayed in the bag. Continuing to walk after a moment he stopped, hearing crying as he passed a darker section of the town. He could see much better in the dark than most, not only half-feline, but a keeper of the moon as well. Wincing a bit he could see a curled up shadow, shaking in the breeze and making the noises he heard. Moving closer he knelt down beside it, a small Hyur female sobbed as best she could, malnourished and mostly bone. She held her stomach tightly as she paid no attention to the Teenager beside her, that is, until she smelled the food he held out to her face. Turning her head weakly her eyes were soaked in whatever tears her body could muster. Looking to the food now she took a moment to adjust. “Go on, it’s okay.” He spoke to her. “It’s just some bread…do you like bread?” Without a response she quickly, but weakly, grabbed it and brought it to her mouth. Taking a second she looked to him with fearful and loving eyes before quickly taking a bite out of the food. “Not too fast!” He smiled to her. “You’re in a hunger pain, eat too fast and you’ll get sick.” In response she had slowed down, reducing her speed to a constant nibble. His eyes closed and he nodded before looking her over. He clothes were torn and ragged, her skin almost as dark as her rags from the dirt and mud. He shook his head and reached and placed a hand upon her back. “Come on, you need a bath.” She lacked the strength to move anything but her arms, but they jerked in response to the touch in whatever defense she could muster. Stopping a moment he gently kept his gloved hand to her back. “It’s…it’s okay. I am not going to hurt you…I promise. Do you want to sleep in a bed tonight?” Her arms slowly readjusted themselves to her front again, nibbling on the bread once more as she nodded slowly at the offer she wouldn’t dare refuse. Her body still trembled as he picked her up with both arms, the bag of food resting on her stomach, the opened towards her face. Aoelus’a chuckled as he watched her rummage through it, trying to grasp whatever food she could with her small and weak arms. He stayed quiet as he moved on, once passed the gates of the city he heard laughing again, followed by a voice calling out. “Hey! You! Cat-freak!” Turning to look at the voice Aoelus’a would see the men he had passed earlier. Four of them stood a few meters away, fishers by their clothes, or just very soggy bandits. The largest one yelled out more, taking leadership. “You think you can just help that little girl? She’s -ours- now…” The large man smirked. “Unless…of course…you have the money to keep both of yourselves safe.” The group of men laughed and cracked their knuckles. They were interrupted quickly, however, by the guards that stood watch on the inside of the gate. “Are you robbing this Miqo’te? Is that what I’m hearing?” All of them turned to see the guards intervene, besides the child who was still rummaging through the groceries as best she could. “If you four don’t turn around and run right now, you are going to be arrested.” The guard beside him smiled and joined in the harassment of the harassers. “Yeah, or we’ll just kill you four for threatening a man and a small child. Punishable by death if I do recall!” The men grunted and turned their shoulders three started to walk away besides the leader, who looked to Aoelus’a. “This isn’t over, Kitty-cat. Don’t you get high and mighty because the guards are here to help you.” He took off with the rest right after, seeing the two guards approach the Miqo’te holding a weak and dirty child. “Good thing we were right there.” One continued. The other offered a small wave at the child, chuckling as her reaction was to grip onto Aoelus’a tightly. "Is she yours?” He asked, pulling up his visor to look at the Feline with uncovered eyes. “I’ve seen her around the town before.” Aoelus’a shook his head, “No…no I found her…I figured she needed someone…so I am going to take her home.” The guard saluted him right after hearing it. “Well, that’s good! As my partner said we have seen her around, begging and scavenging. But we couldn’t help her. We have too many mouths to feed as it is.” He sighed and placed his hands on his hips. “I think those thugs caught her trying to beg, she looks really hurt.” Aoelus’anodded. “Yes, I should get her back.” “Yes…”One guard walked forward and put a hand on his shoulder. “Please take good care of her. It’s the least she deserves after being abandoned.” The Feline nodded to them and thanked them both before turning away and walking quickly down the forest path; returning to his home with the small child still in his arms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Wow dad, so you were helpless against 4 fishermen? That’s pretty sad.” She giggled, cupping her mouth with her hand and looking to him. “Hey!” He smiled back at her. “I was only 16, you know! And a fresh recruit of the lancer’s guild. I didn't even have a lance yet to defend myself… just a small child. Unless you wanted me to swing you around.” A few moments went by as the Feline Father grasped the grass behind him, leaning his weight into the hill and looking up. “I trained everyday since, I have not missed a single session. I wanted to make sure you were safe...and now I -need- to make sure you are safe.” She shook her head. “I only kind of remember begging and being alone. It was really cold and scary. Then someone came and offered me food, a bath and shelter. I…” She stopped to scoot herself closer, only left with half of one ice cream cone. “I’m really grateful you came into my life.” Her head leaned and pressed up to his shoulder, a support for weight…both physical and emotional. Aoelus’a leaned his head on hers. “I am very grateful for you too. I never regretted my decision from the moment I held out the bread.” Ayreina looked to him after a moment of their embrace. “I…how did I get my name, Dad? I don’t recall.” Aoelus’a looked down to her, a smirk poking at the side of his lips and he lowered his head to kiss the top of her hair. “When I asked you your name, you said you didn’t have one. I left it alone for a little while…but every night I read you a book. You loved the stories I read you, I myself enjoyed them too. But one of the heroines of your favorite story was named-“ “Ayreina…” She cut him off, looking out over the hill. “I remember…I remember loving that story. She was so powerful…and protected so many people. I...” Aoelus’a cut her off in turn. “Wanted to be just as strong as her. Since then I have called you Ayreina…because I know you will be as strong as any fictional hero. Without a doubt in my mind, Ayreina, you will make me ever more proud than I have been my entire life.” He leaned down to kiss the top of her head again. “I love you.” The Hyur girl finished her ice cream and looked contemplative, though blushing at his words. “I…I love you too, dad.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The night fell and Aoelus'a sat at the table. A bowl steamed on each side of the table, one in front of him...and one in front of an empty seat across. “Silly girl.” He mused. “Her walks are getting earlier and earlier and lasting longer and longer.” Shaking his head and speaking again with a smile. “She always comes home each time with a necklace she made from the random sticks and rocks she finds. I...” He blushed and looked towards the door. “I hope she remembers to make me one this time too.” He inhaled through his nose, crossing his arms on the table as he stared at the steaming soup...waiting. Hours passed as he continued to look at the liquid in the bowl, the steam gone, along with any heat it had previously possessed. His eyes gazed to the door, taking his lance and stepping towards it. “She is never this late. Something's wrong.” He stepped out the door and closed it behind him, catching a note on the front. The writing was hastily scrawled and was barely legible...but the words were all too clear. “We have her, we told you we'd come back kitty-cat. She's a slave now...unless you bring enough money. The old fishing shack to the east of Gridania. If you want to see your whore ever again.” Aoelus'a's eyes shifted around the page, fear and anger twisting in his face. “ You...you...” His voice was deeper...his eyes starting for the first time in his life...swirling together in color...darker. “I'll...I'll kill them...” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ He knew where the shack was. Being a recruit for the Lancer's Guild often meant patrolling jobs. He had seen it, memorized it, and now he was going to tear it down. It made little difference how long it took, his sprint would never be faster. The doorways to the place were raggedy, perhaps they didn't expect someone who, eight years ago, couldn't defend himself to now barge into the front door. A heavy lance and solid metal armor dawned the 24 year old Miqo'te as the first man he saw became a victim. It was lucky the note did not lie, and only the four men from before were there...for the lance he held stabbed into the chest of the first person he saw. A blind rage overwhelmed Aoelus'a...nothing would stop it. The three left almost fell backwards as he did not come at an expected time...since the note was against his door for hours. Pulling out their weapons two more had fallen of their numbers. One was slit easily and quickly in the neck, the other taking the edge of his spear to the stomach. Both had fallen, the life draining from their body by the much more experienced Miqo'te...only the leader remained. A smirk crossed his lips as his hands were held up above his shoulders. “Heh...Kitty Cat came to save his whore...we left you that note hours ago...we didn't think you were coming.” “Watch your fucking mouth. Where is she?” Aoelus'a quickly responded. Theman shook his head. “We didn't think you were coming...so...” He chuckled as he knew he couldn't fight back, though took amusement in a psychotic fashion. “We killed her.” Aoelus'a's eyes widened...he stayed motionless. His eyes were seen by the remaining man, one moment White and Black...though the white eye began to swirl. Black as night they both became...and with it spoke a voice from the man's lips. The voice that slid from his mouth was darker...eviler...demonic. “You...You killed her? You...Y-Y...You...You're lieing! ...I..I will make you suffer! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!” True to his word the lance speared the remaining man's throat, the blade pinning him against the wall he held his back against. The man made no struggle, his eyes widening at the Miqo'te's break-down. The surprise was following by his fatal pin to the wall, and he stayed there pinned...making only gurgling sounds as his body desperately grasped for the life that drained quickly from him. Aoelus'a watched him in sociopathic silence as the blood coated his weapon and slid down the abandoned shack's wall. Breathing deeply his now both black-pupiless eyes streamed with tears...soaking his cheek and looking to the doors that led the last room. He quickly barged into the room, looking around for only half a second before falling to his knees. He saw only what was necessary...but only what he feared absolutely. A hand gripped a necklace made out of shells, pebbles and leafs. The hand itself was soaked in a puddle of blood. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One year later both white were the eyes of the man now and he held only two things. A pink-petaled flower, which he placed along the ground. His other hand clenched the necklace he saw...the last time he had seen her. Inhaling through his nose again he fought the tears...a futile effort as they began to stream from his cheeks. Placing the necklace around his neck he refused to look away, only a gravestone keeping a pink-petaled flower held his sight. 'Ayreina Serenviir. Beloved daughter and a great heroine.” The tomb offered little comfort as the Miqo'te gritted his teeth, looking up in tears to curse the gods everyone revered so much. “Everything I've done was for love... everything I've done was for nothing.”

Physical Appearance Aoelus'a is a average sized, angry and cold looking Miqo'te. His skin is slightly darker but Caucasian and his eyes are two different colors. One is pure white and the other pure black. They often change depending on the situation and swirl with changing tones of brightness and darkness. Aoelus is not big, but not small and his lance and armor often take up most of his intimidation. Though he looks very much like he is trying to be intimidating...there is a part of him that seems to fight his appearance. An obvious wanting to be innocent, a obvious gentleness that wishes to be happy. About Aoelus'a Serenviir Aoelus is a continuation of a character from Tera, but started as a new character. A first son Moon Keeper Miqo'te who could care less about anyone. Head of Security for the brothel of his headmistress Yi'Vali's 'Ambrosia'...or as she called it. Aoelus'a was hard to understand, he was not there for whores, yet he protected them. He did not care if the patrons were horrible to the prostitutes, yet he cared the health and happiness of his coworkers. He hated being open about any attraction to anyone, whether it be physical, emotional, obligational or whatever. He remained his angry, isolated self. He hoped no one would change him and he, nor anyone would care. He wasn't unchangeable and neither was the 'first or third'. OOC Author's Note Aoelus is peculiar...he has many secrets about him. His speech is different and it is hard to understand who the person is talking to. An obvious distinction between himself is his eye color. Both being white indicates a timid man with a softer tone of voice who cares about everyone and only wants his friends and loved ones to be happy. White and Black eye-color refers to himself as "Grey" and cares about nothing, barely even himself but only wishes for efficiency and oddly-enough... fun. His voice is darker then white's and tends to speak weirdly, knowing it messes with other people. Both Black eyed color is a psychopath. He wishes for nothing but to see everything look like it is on fire...by actually being on fire. Though that is rare, there is so much to be controlled, to be tamed and cared for Aoelus'a is easily molded, he is emotionally torn and currently unsure of anything. He is fragile and anything can happen.. "We are all the same person, but we are nothing like eachother." -Indifferent Aoelus'a. How they developed, who was first, why Aoelus came to be... All would have to be explained ICly. So come RP with me! <3

Thanks guys! I'm excited for the Roleplay this community will bring! Also, I forgot to clarify in my first post, even though Tiiren'li has a gloomy past, he is a not a gloomy character! He has high hopes and is very sweet if he can figure out how to open up. He's just really, really scared. :3

The player Hey! My name is Jeremy and I was introduced to this game from a friend who is much more proficient in the Final Fantasy series. Personally I dropped off the series at 10-2 so I am a bit behind. But thank goodness I can read and catch up. :3 About myself RPly I have spent a long time Roleplaying and am a "para poster." My early career of roleplaying I have spent playing comedic relief characters; no depth and maniacs with funny things to say were my old specialty. It is only since I started playing guild wars 2 that more serious characters developed. After playing Tera for a while the RP community died and I have been starving for good, deep roleplay. I am very excited for FFXIV and the community it has. Tiirin'li in his own mind I hello. That was dumb to write. I wish I was better at social situations. Being a Keeper of the Moon meant I was supposed to live in solitude. But not to this degree...other terrify me. Stuttering is such an issue and I wish I could be stronger around my family...if I was still with them. My mother...her prodigy daughter and my suck up brother. The one that is still alive, at least. I was forced into learning the techniques of lancers, my mother and sister called my liking for magics and alchemy worthless. I can not be as strong as my family...why do I have to be? I just want to make people happy. The page ends, turning the page much of the paper was ruined, markings come across the top but are crossed out very much and rendering the markings unrecognizable. The journal continues on with very shaky handwriting, much of the words having to be repeated by the illegibility. I...I can't be her anymore. I am done with this; I want to be gone...I don't know what to do. I understand I can't survive in the world without someone else, but all my mother and siblings do is talk down to me. I know I am the youngest, but I just wanted to help...but in my own way. I don't find the need to stab everything that moves...everything that's different. I am so glad no one can read this journal...my mother almost read my notes, the alchemy symbols I would try to use. She is all ready suspecting me of my dabbling in magical and alchemy arts. She has tripled my training sessions for my lance and it is hard to keep up on my studies. That is what she wants...I don't know how much I can take. The next dozen pages have more marking, each crossed out and covered with a large portion of ink. The journal continues with shakier handwriting, and a few more breaks in sentences. I am not there anymore. My prodigy sister and my immature older brother. I miss Tiiren'a...he would understand. I ran...I ran and I won't go back. I won't be the target of my family's disrespect ...the member of the family who is not even worth pity. Who is only the subject of inferiority. I wanted to live my life to make them and everyone happy...I don't know what to do anymore. I am ending this, the Alchemists' Guild will be my new teachers...they will accept my ambitions. My experiments will succeed, I will protect people with the workings I will make. Everything will be worth it...I am just tired of being told I am worthless. I just hope everyone accepts me for who I am...even though I stutter, that I am a "coward", that I don't know how to interact with people...and that I need to stop writing. The forest, I will never go back. I can find someone who accepts me....I hope. Even if I am on my own, I will make everyone happy. I..just...I'm just so scared.
