  1. Now then, ahem. As requested. The anvil delivered the desired goods, both delviery as well as good distribution have been signed, so the last thing to attend to are.. the costs. I hope all our goods find their way, eventually, into the hands they deserve to be in, the new adventurers to join us in our struggles soon. I would like to point out that ou craftsman and omanw ere quite generous and that we took a lot of discoutns and good will into our pricing for this very occation, despite our mandatory seal of quality on each and every one of these items. Now, without further delay... Payment due within the comming week. ( And here an easier to read version. ) It was a pleasure doing business with everyone who participated. Kind regards, Hiname Dawnpride
  2. Ehm.. no. Our linkshell is reserved for company members. You're fre to drop an application in our forum though!
  3. Generally, the anvil is not opposed to PvE or any other playstyle. Every member is welcome to do what he or she sees fit to do, as long as the support of the guild doesn't come too short while at it. As for dugneons and raiding.. Well, let me try to put it like this. if the majority of the guild would like to go raiding together, I would be inclined to reach out for other RP companys to find some sort of agreement. While I believe that "FULL RP" raids with more talk between trash groups then acctual fighting can be more of a buzzkill then entertaining, I believe a solid background as to WHY a RP company should go raiding should be there. I can see the anvil paying a guild of seasoned adventurers to do the dirty work so we can snatch the shiny bits to broker off, or sponsoring an expedition for whatever reason we currently have. For example, of course. But, and that I can guarantee, the anvil will NOT go raiding for raidings sake with explicit non-RPers just ebcause they have a good progression rate. So if we find a reason to, or a good partner to, the anvil might go see raiding content. Without either of that, I wouldn't bet on it. Question answered?
  4. Chapter 2: Polished Metal, Sharpened Steel "I hate you! I hate you ALL! I don't want this anymore! I’m SICK of it! I was not born to serve as your free of charge farmhand! I am done working my ass off in this shithole you call home! This place will NEVER give you anything else then dust and death!" Words that echoed so clearly in her mind. She heard them whenever she was deep in thought about her past. It was a milestone in her life, if perhaps a sad one. Or so would others say. For her, it was the moment when she stood up for her own freedom and convictions. The moment when she took arms... Maybe a little too literally. Giving in into the thoughts, she sat down in the large room that would one day soon be the furnace. Between crates filled with metals, anvils and blacksmith gear, she had a weak smile on her lips. She reached out to a nearby open crate and pulled something out that appeared to be a decorational shield that would adorn the wall soon. It was a simple work, a hoplon made of polished brass and copper. It was a cheap, if beautiful, piece of work. It would never hold for more than a few hard blows before the copper plate would dislodge itself and make the shield practically useless. She was no blacksmith, but she knew a few things about shields. Yes, it was... just like this day back then. "Don't be ridiculous child! We need you here; you can't just pack up and GO! You should show a little mor-" The imposing miqo'te man was cut sort, as his young daughter swiped her arm over the table, almost flipping the frail looking wooden table over, her multicolored eyes burning with hate, disgust and defiance. "Don't you DARE to tell me to be grateful! Ever since I was old enough you had me work my back off in these fields that will NEVER grow enough to make a decent living, much less make any sort of profit out of it! Don't you ever DARE to tell me how I should behave! You lost every SCRAP of right to dictate a single thing about my life you pathetic slave driver!" Wood shattered as the table was eventually flipped over for good, the young girl staring up to her father. While he was almost twice her size, she would rather die on the spot then backing off ever again. She would make her stand here and today. Her father was not exactly a man of great words. Actions tend to speak louder than stern words. Nothing that Hiname wouldn't see coming though. She knew all too well how her father tends to deal with disobedience. She knew the way he swings his hand, how fast and how hard. A dull, smacking sound as Hiname's arm gets between her face and her father’s hand, deflecting the blow at the wrist, she couldn't stop it fully, as the man in front of her was easily twice her size in almost every dimension. But it was enough to prevent her from taking the full blow to the face what would have easily forced her to her knees, if not the ground in total. "Yes, this is your way, is it not... This is the language you understand, if someone doesn't comply with your view." In a rage-fueled motion, Hiname spun around, swiped the broken table's plate from the ground, held it like a large shield while swinging around and colliding, with full force and velocity, against her father’s front, smashing the solid wood against his stomach. Hiname was not helpless; she was strong enough to fight for her own. Maybe the only thing she was grateful that life of work had done for her. The sound of the hulking man crashing onto the ground was one of the most satisfying sounds she ever heard in her life. "I’m done with you. I’m done with this place." Still holding the makeshift "shield", she walked past the groaning man, into her room and picked up the backpack she was holding ready. It contained everything she had she could call her own. She refused to take everything with her that wasn’t hers. She passed a painting of the family tree. She simply growl, walked up to it and scratched her name and picture from the painting on the way out. The rising sun was greeting her, creeping over the mountainside. Slamming the door behind her, she looked grim up to the mountain ridges, though she could not help a light smirk as she did. It felt good, to be finally free, to be greeted by the rising sun on what seemed to become a calm day. A good start. "And where do you think you're going, young lady Adaman?" The voice of her mother that was working outside while she was arguing with her father. That woman had the tendency to add this name when she wanted to sound most intimidating. As usual, she failed at it. Hiname simply gave her a freezing stare of spite and disgust. "Who? .. My name is Dawnpride." Back in the furnace, the young miqo'te smiles lightly, putting the decorative shield back into the open crate and got back on her feet. She never looked back. She never missed home. She never returned. Nor will she ever do. "Hmm.. well. Maybe one day. To simply buy the place and build something useful on it." She said to herself with a sly grin and then took a peek into the other crates. Swords, shields, lances, select pieces of armor.. The furnace sure would look a bit like an armory eventually. She picked up a matching pair of metal shield and sword. They felt heavy, but well balanced and well crafted. It felt comforting.. While she was not the adventuring type, she learned how to fight with these things. But that was a memory for another day. [Next up: Chapter 3: Of gold, silver and dedication.]
  5. Hum, okay, I thought that would be self explaining eventually. But alright.. Well, let's have an example here. So let's say your item stands on 50% quality. You have 36 CP left. The items condition stands on Normal. You have 30 Stability left. So if you want the 10 stability safety to not endanger your work piece, you have one working step left before you have to finish your piece. Now we gamble a bit. You spend 12 CP on Observe. And voilá, the items Condiion jumps on "Good"! You use the remaining 24 CP to perform Basic Touch and bring your piece on 78% quality before finishing up with a synthesis skill. Another example. You have cracked the jackpot and got an Excellent success with a touch skill. But now your items quality stands on Poor. You are on the final steps of improving quality, but usign a Touch skill on a poor quality step is nothing short but a waste of time and CP. So you use Observe to bring the condition back to normal. Makes sense?
  6. Err, sure, if you give credit go ahead! *laughs* As for the HQ items.. the bar fills with a % number. The higher the number, the higher the chance the item willt urn out to be HQ. It really is "that" simpal.
  7. Added chapter five about shared skills. So much work for so little text...
  8. Once you get a basic idea of what you'll gonna need, let us know. I'll make sure to pin the workorder into our forums for early preperation.
  9. Yup, that sounds like something for us. *grins and makes the fluffy ears twitch with a sly grin* If it needs crafin', we'll do the makin'.
  10. If someone could nudge this over into the Gilgamesh directory, that'd be most welcome.
  11. Well damn. *grins and high-fives* Shame we can't have you back on board for the second try around, but I hope you have a fun time around anyway.
  12. Alright then, let me try to give my piece of oppinion here... While reading this little "war" going on here and there.. (Not just on this forum, mind you.).. I could not help but being reminded at something. Balmung is a place for those who made friends a long time ago and want to see a new dawn rising voer their home with new challanges to rise up to, surroudned by companions they made before. Gilgamesh is a place for those who either want to start again or feel intimidated by those who walked before. Now, let me quote something... To all of my children in whom life flows abundant To all of my children to whom death hath passed his judgment The soul yearns for honor and the flesh the hereafter Look to those who walked before to lead those who walk after Sounds familiar? It should. We all tried to hold back tears as we listened to these words while we had to watch Bahamut turn our world and lifes to cinders. And yet, we are not done yet. Now open your eyes while our plight is repeated Still deaf to our cries lost in hope we lie defeated Our souls have been torn and our bodies forsaken Bearing sins of the past for our future is taken War, born of strife these trials dissuade us not Words without sound these lies betray our thoughts Mired by your plague of doubtful and cheap lore Judgment binds all we hold to a memory of scorn Tell us why, given life, we are meant to die? Help us in our cry! Here we are now. Fighting a petty struggle over where to begin a new life. Fighting a silly, pointless fight that brings nothing but strife and anger to everyone of us, if we want to have part in this or not. Are we really going to let such a silly struggle end in a repetition of history? Are we going to watch Bahamut unleash fire and brimstone on us again, while we fight over which RP community to join? Except that Bahamut will not come to lay waste to the world, but to a community that should stand together as roleplayers, not in the form of a apocalpytic firestorm, but in a gap between what should stand united. Remember how the song ends? Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow In the same fleeting moment thou must live, die and know.. We all must make a decision where we want to make a stand. Should we think of our brothers and sisters on a different server as enemies? As deserters who do not stand by our side in times of war? No. They are not gone, they merely fight the just war against griefers and rp-trolls on a different front. We are roleplayers. We should know better then that.
  13. Well, that makes things good to go then. Unless a "official" RP server rolls around, the Anvil will go to Gilgamesh, So for every non-legacy player who wan'ts to RP a crafter or a merchant.. You're most welcome!
