"I'm not helping. I'm not helping. I'm not heping!" Ulanan's voice started as a whisper, but it quickly turned into another shout. The magical beast she was sitting on growled unnaturally, something forming on its surface, over its thin and pathetic arms. It was not eyes that were forming, or a face. It was a maw, misaligned with the rest of the body, composed of a crooked line that zigzagged making its lips into its teeth. The lalafell raised both hands and clenched the wings of her hat. She pulled down with all her strenght, until it couldn't go farther down. The construct turned around, giving its back to the fight. Its wings raised and then fell. It fled, the legs grazing cross the sand, forming lines as jagged as the creatures mouth. After a few yalms, it managed to raise above the ground, flying at a very low height. Fleeing, or trying to, with the lalafell on its back. "Not helping."
-
"Fine then." Ulanan muttered to herself, wide eyes staring in front of her. Short locks of hair were hanging in front of them, unkept and moved by the hectic movements she had done when angry. "Very well. Have it your way!" she added, this time shouting loudly. The aether around her snapped suddenly, gathering in her book and the pages held within, shining brightly. "I'm not helping. I'm not helping anyone anymore!" Her shouting continued. Just as quick as it had gathered, the aether released, spreading in front of her in a circle. It took form and gained weight, becoming an orb. Long and thing wings sprouted out of it, along with two sets of legs and arms, thin as a broom's handle. The lalafell jumped on top of it before it started to float above the sand. She shook her head, eyes set forward and widely open. "I'm. Not. Helping."
-
Ulanan grumbled loudly, casting yet another spell to intercept the woman's. This one was much weaker, since the lalafell didn't have the time to charge it beforehand. "Listen to me!" she begged, though it was more of a demand. "He was following them! Unbound! With no restrains! Now he wants them dead! Don't you see what it means?"
-
"I said stop!" Ulanan shouted again, almost a screech. She raised both hands, the tome held between them, releasing the aether into a cloud of ice to intercept Cypress' fire with it. "There's something odd with that 'helpful' man!"
-
Ulanan huffed in the Duskwight's direction and stomped the ground yet again. "This is the last time I'll let you get away with not explaining anything!" she shouted in his direction. Her immediate next action was to turn to the other group of bickering people and shout to them instead. "Stop fighting! The old man is grumpy, and old, and wants you to stop fighting!" She accentuated, clearly annoyed. She spent the next few moments raising her book in front of her chest, channeling aether into it.
-
Ulanan forgot everything that was going on. She turned around in a fast movement to growl angrily up at the elezen from under her white and pretty large hat. "You! Explain yourself!" she demanded.
-
Ulanan turned, facing Thal with her book. She swiftly placed her free hand over it and, just as swiftly, snapped it in his direction. The aspectless aether contained within the pages was freed in a straight and black line, trying to hit him mid-jump.
-
"K'airos and her mother are fine. Are you taking pleasure on tormenting this girl?" Ulanan said with frown to K'ile, walking closer. Her book was open at her side, and she gracefully ignored Cypress struggle with Thal. "Just end it already." she added.
-
"You, go help her." Ulanan muttered to her glowing book, waving one hand behind it in a half-circle. One of the pages ripped itself apart from the others. Then another, and another. The three curved into a sphere roughly the size of the lalafell's head, and joined together in the air, gaining a yellow color. Two tiny black holes and a wide curved line formed on its surface. Soon after, its back shifted and folded, two small wings sproutng out of it. It spun once and faced Thal. It flew around him and Cypress in a circle, imitating the motion Ulanan's hand had made before. Then it threw itself against the man, hardening until it was like a soft and hollow rock. It kept the smile and the tiny eyes, though. Meanwhile, Ulanan turned, too, to follow K'ile and the girl with slow steps.
-
Ulanan kept quiet, passing through the pages of her book idly as if nothing of interest was happening around her. She stopped to place her right hand over it, channeling aether into it. It acquired a dim yellow glow that was quickly intensifying.
-
Ulanan glanced at K'ile once to answer to him. "That just makes it easier for her to burn him. If you are so worried about that, go help her." She turner her eyes away from him, squinting, trying to see where D'aijeen had gone to.
-
The lalafell continued watching quietly, giving various steps backwards to avoid any fire accidentaly turning her into a piece of coal. She reached for her book, attached to her belt with a little string, and opened it. Prevention, not just for the fire, but also in case voidsent appeared.
-
"You could be buying time." Ulanan said, spinning around to face him instead of facing K'ile. "If it's so urgent..." She paused and spun again. This time, she faced Cypress and her arms flailed. "Wait, he's truly dead? And you are letting him leave without seeing if -he- is a voidsent?" she questioned.
-
"Not to her." Ulanan replied to the man, but she was looking at K'ile. Her eyes widened, keeping the frown in place. "Thalen." she repeated. "K'airos' father?"
-
"You don't know if this is the same girl, Cypress." Ulanan bit, still walking away. "You are blind. I haven't taken a look at her. All you have is your own mind thinking you are completely right with no place for doubt." She paused, scratching the bridge of her nose. "If you are sure it's her for any reason at all, I'd like to know."
