I'm a bit conflicted when it comes to this. Like everyone else these server issues are kinda ruining my life, and so it seems when I do get on everyone is playing the game because who knows when you'll get 1017'd and then miss out. RP in all it's places and forms are part of what makes the game fun. I feel like fighting all these things solo is missed RP opportunities. I haven't done any RP outside of random comments with a couple people and what good is As far as level caps go I just need to find people who are fighting the same things I am so we can meet in the Tavern, have some drinks, then go fight things. Rinse and repeat lol If anyone feels like adventuring in a group while being in character then go find Seamus O'toole and we'll kick it Fellowship style. Currently my MRD is 22 but can level some lower jobs if it works out. PS: Lotro was amazing.

Myself, I just use the main story as background information. Nobody has to be the hero, but these events are still happening as things you can talk about....wars with beastmen....your rank in the Grand Company...places you've visted (for maybe a different reason). It all makes for a good backdrop.

Sounds awesome and I'm ashamed of myself for not finding you all sooner. Now if only I could sign into the bloody thing.

Basic Info Characters: Seamus O'toole (Wiki in Progress) Primary character: Seamus O'toole Linkshells: Intermission, Blue Sky Adventuring Company Primary RP linkshell: Blue Sky Adventuring Company II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium - Heavy Views on RP combat and injuries: Always awkward in a game that doesn't have a free duel system. I haven't had the need to fight anyone very often, and usually it's just for effect anyway. Combat should be like anything else, just for fun, and RPing injuries is always interesting. Views on IC romance: Whoa Character Template...slow down...we just met. I'd need to get to know you a bit better first, just like any real relationship. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): It's why I play MMOs. I want comrades in arms. I want to stretch, go get some jobs done, then laugh and boast over ale in the tavern. Family is also important. Everyone needs something to fight for. Views on lore: Lore is the glue of the MMO in my opinion. It makes sure everyone is on the same page and RPs in a way that makes sense. I'm no historian, neither is my character, but I always do what I can to avoid any huge plot issues. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Pretty standard since I've been doing it for awhile. I do get lazy with my (( and )) and will mix it up with some [[ ]] or {{ }} or even // //...and usually am in character whenever I log in. Haharr, Fancy us freebooters, do ye? 8-) While Lingua Pira be more fun in palaver than print, I aim t'get a fair deal of practice in. And thanks for the guides too. I think I may end up being one of those "RP Freelancers" you mentioned...cause ya know, Pirate an' all. That Facets of Eorzea sounded interesting actually. Treasure Hunting is definitely something I could do. If it pays :lol: *cackles and saunters off*

Main character will be a Highlander Hyur Male. Who lived and was trained by Pirates in the use of his Great Axe. After having a change of heart, he realized more money and glory could be had helping people rather than raiding them...so he returns to Limsa Lominsa to begin his life as an Adventurer. That's pretty much all I got for a start at the moment. Just a standard summary. Hopefully that's enough? ...As for this Pirate Linkshell, that sounds fun and I'll keep a lookout for it.

Hello to you all! I've finally gotten to making a profile (thought haven't really put details in it other than changing my language to Pirate. Yar.) I've been looking forward to this game and like everything else I do...I seek out the RPer so I can make whichever game as much fun as possible. From my lurking I've figured out more than a lot of you are all on the Balmung server, or plan to be, so I figure I may as well join you all. I might get around to editing this and adding all the boring details where I talk about my many years of Roleplaying experience and all that fun stuff...or not. From what I've seen of the game so far it could be a lot of fun RPing a lowbie bunch of adventurers in classic fashion. Myself, I plan on being an ex-Pirate...because I can. Once this Beta is overwith and our characters actually stick around. If anyone is in the Beta and wants to kill things in character, that's always fun too.
