Terra Posted July 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2015 Come join us at the Solace Villa (The Goblet, Ward 7, Plot 43) a place of respite for adventurers and vagabonds that need a home and are working to rebuild what they lost after the disasters in recent years and on top of that truly want to help others to do the same. Contact Luxyn Xarkryth, Noxyn Xark in game for details, or join and check out our forums. We accept all interested parties and are willing to work with new RPers to build characters and help with in game Lore and information that might be relevant. We also accept any that are just interested in seeing RP but unsure if they want to give it a try or not. We're very supportive of making new RP fans! Our goals include helping people level and clear content with positive attitudes including raids (but we're casual for this and don't aim for server firsts.) We also feature personal rooms for general roleplay purposes (slumber party in the dormitory anyone?) There are certain boundaries that need to be put in place and defined for interactions in and out of character. Linkshell and Free Company and Public chats are to be kept PG-13. You can have sexual innuendo, touchy-feely romancing, but keep anything really explicit to tells and party chats. We won't stop you from having explicit RP, just keep it private. Leave Tragedies in the Past and don't perpetuate them. You can use Physical, Emotional and Sexual Abuse as character building tragedies as part of your backstory, but in no way shape or form should such actions be endorsed in active role play. Rape and other forms of abuse are to be handled with due care and respect and should not be made fun of in or out of character Verbal Abuse will not be tolerated out of character. We want to keep a friendly and inviting environment. Keep your interactions civil. Be respectful at all times. Understand that what you think is all right for regular conversation may not be agreed with by another party. If you are offended, please be up front about it, keep it private as much as possible, but if it is a topic that gets carried away with in chat, feel free to call everyone out on it. And if you do offend someone, be respectful of the other person, apologize and try to avoid the disrespectful comments in the future. Mutual Consent trumps all. A story and a roleplay is nothing without conflict and if you're going to do anything that treads on sensitive or explicit territory it must be in agreement between all of the involved parties, and it must consider the sensitive nature of some forms of abuse that may offend others. If the only character involved in a traumatic experience is your own, it's considered backstory (even if it happens after character has entered play). Most of all HAVE FUN! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Since these are supposed to be "rules" there needs to be consequences. For the most part I would prefer if players manage infractions personally. If there is a player that has made comments that you do not like, find completely unsuitable and inappropriate or disrespectful according to the code of conduct you must make the other player aware of this and ask them to change the behavior. Some leniency is expected for both sides, like if you realize you did the same thing that offended the person again but realize it was a faux pas, an apology would be expected in that situation. In the event that politely broaching the matter to an offending party shows no improvement, you can bring the matter to the Navigator online or when they are next online. Punishment for failing to adhere to the code of conduct of respecting another's wishes is demotion of at least one rank for a period of at least one week for a first offense. In the event that the offender is actually Transient, the member is liable to be removed from the company. I'm not setting anything in stone. Some cases will be treated more severely than others (someone continuously prodding another person's pet peeve involving spelling after being told not to can be afforded a bit more leniency than someone that touches on seriously traumatic things for a person like various forms of abuse). Above all, I want this to be a friendly and inviting community and I really don't want a set of rules to scare someone that likes to be a bit perverted away, as long as people understand there are some people and places to act like that around and others that you should not -- this is why this community is a collective of link shells and free companies - some places afford more leniency than others.
