Eternal Darkness Posted November 26, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2012 Square has begun to roll out them alpha keys, so keep a sharp eye out on your inboxes! Also, if you haven't already, go sign up for an alpha key! http://entry.ffxiv.com/alpha/index_en.html Link to comment

Sigil.9054 Posted November 26, 2012 Share #3 Posted November 26, 2012 It's not on a first-come-first-serve basis. I haven't applied yet (I'm not at home) so I don't know what information you're sending them, but if you send system specs, they're probably basing their decisions on that. If not, then I don't know what to tell you. Be patient, and expect that you might not get picked. Link to comment
Tadir Posted November 26, 2012 Share #4 Posted November 26, 2012 It keeps telling me I'm in the wrong region. Is this not for the US? Link to comment
Aysun Posted November 26, 2012 Share #5 Posted November 26, 2012 I got me a fancy new.... whole lot of nothing. :3 Link to comment
Sigil.9054 Posted November 26, 2012 Share #6 Posted November 26, 2012 Alpha testing is necessarily exclusive, and turn around time for decisions on who gets in can take a while. Remember: It's not a club you're joining. The developers need to pick out people that they (a) think will be able to adequately test the system and (b) aren't going to go blabbing about what they see. To be quite honest, I'm surprised there's a public alpha invitation. They're usually done in-house, and with people the company trusts. Just relax and be patient, but, again, expect not to get anything at all. Link to comment
Uriah_Nool Posted November 27, 2012 Share #7 Posted November 27, 2012 I may or may not have been invited to Alpha. Link to comment
Cole Posted November 27, 2012 Share #8 Posted November 27, 2012 I may or may not have been invited to Alpha. I also may or may not have been invited to the alpha. I just hope that those who are in use it as a tool to help make the game better, and not as a free demo of the game. Link to comment
Moltove Posted November 27, 2012 Share #9 Posted November 27, 2012 Since they need to fill about 1000 spots to keep testing zone/server stability with their goal of 1000 people in active battles simultaniously, and I think an eventual 5000 person server load, I can see why they're sending out Alpha invites to begin with. That, and I think Yoshi-P really wants to show of the game, and it's another way to keep the current community satisfied and interested until ARR. Link to comment
Eternal Darkness Posted November 27, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted November 27, 2012 It keeps telling me I'm in the wrong region. Is this not for the US? I tried to re-apply and got the same thing. I don't know why, there's no explanation for it. But I would imagine that they either closed the applications for right now, or they just forgot to change the region lol Link to comment
