High on a hill overlooking the sea is the Scholar's Roost, a hub for mages, scholars, engineers, and mercenaries, and a haven for outcasts of all descriptions. We are the Mythril Wings, and our mission is twofold: to pursue knowledge for its own sake and for the benefit of all peoples, and to protect and shelter the downtrodden, the forgotten, and the hopeless. While nominally acting under the sanction of the Maelstrom, we follow a code of conduct that is all our own. Ultimately our intentions are good, but we're masters at finding creative (and sometimes illegal) ways to achieve our ends. Are you a bit of a rebel? Do you love to experiment with 'forbidden' magicks, or hold political views that could get you killed in certain jurisdictions? Or do you simply need a home and a steady job? You might fit right in with the Mythril Wings.

We are a rank 8 FC on the Balmung server with a medium house at Ward 4, Plot 29 in the Mist. Our focus is primarily on RP, and most of our members would consider themselves to be medium to heavy RPers. We encourage our members to get involved in plotting story arcs for the FC, and we try to make sure each individual character gets a chance to shine. While we no longer have official RP days, there is still frequent RP both in our company house and in more exotic locales.

 

Recruitment is currently by invitation only. We want our company to be a small, close-knit community of friends, so we'll be inviting people only after we get to know them both ICly and OOCly. Please feel free to let us know if you're interested in RPing with us! Our officers are Adeya Evenar/Idristan Agache, Synn Heolstor,and Solenne Lagarde/Michaux Vidal.

 

RP quality and lore compliance are very important to us. Before inviting a prospective member, we will ask them to fill out an application on our website and discuss their character concept with us so we can be sure that they are a good fit for our company. We'll also want plenty of time to see how they RP their character. We are willing to invite people who are new to RP or unfamiliar with FFXIV lore, provided they are willing to learn from more experienced members.

 

If you are invited to join our FC, be prepared to get swept up in our stories. We are a lively group of trouble-prone misfits. We venture into dangerous territories and get involved in hazardous situations. We commit crimes (for the greater good!), make powerful enemies, and play around with ancient artifacts that are probably best left alone. Expect to take plenty of risks ICly. Character growth through adversity is encouraged. 

 

Having said all that, please note that our RP does sometimes include mature topics such as crime, blackmail, violence, strong interpersonal tension, unhealthy relationship dynamics, and in rare cases, torture. (Sexual themes are not permitted in public RP.) If you are uncomfortable with any of these subjects, this might not be the FC for you.

We had an event today where everyone got together on the beach in the Mist to celebrate the Rising with some interesting (slightly magical) drinks! Loads of fun (and a bit of drama) was had ~

Two good friends of ours had their Ceremony of Eternal Bonding yesterday, and all of us were lucky enough to attend! We had a great time, and even baked the happy couple a (really pink) cake!

I'm late posting for October, but we're still around, still having wild adventures, and still recruiting!

We're still here and still RPing almost daily! We just concluded a major plot arc, and now our characters are taking a well-deserved vacation. We have recently gained several new members, and so we are temporarily closing recruitment while we get to know them and make sure they feel settled.

We are not accepting applications at this time because we are now invitation-only (that needs to be changed on our website - I have let the lead admin know). The only way to join our company at present is to become friends with our members and RP with us. Only after we're had time to get to know you and decide that you're a good fit will you be invited to submit an application.

 

To start the ball rolling, you are welcome to contact an officer (our characters' names are listed in the main post above) and set up some RP with us. We will try to accommodate you, but with Stormblood coming up, most of us will be focusing on PvE for a while.
